2013 NFL Week 17 – Betting Picks Against Spread

drunk-kyle-orton-cowboysI had to wait until the last minute to post my NFL picks against the spread. There was so many things that were unknown earlier this week. We know know the status of Tony Romo, Aaron Rodgers, Eddie Lacy and even Jon Kitna…yep, THAT Jon Kitna.

I have a 124-88-10 record against the spread so far this season.

There are five games with double-digit point spreads and playoff spots and seeds are still up for grabs. This is an odd Week 17, since we have two ‘loser leaves town’ games.

I hate betting in Week 17, but it’s the last shot at betting a full slate of games. There is no such thing as a ‘sure thing’ this week, weird shit will happen, my friends.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 17 of the NFL season.

2013 NFL Week 14 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Jim+Harbaugh+Colin+Kaepernick+FunnyI started out great last week with a nice Thanksgiving, but then the Sunday afternoon games bit me. I finished the week with hits on Sunday night and Monday. I have a 98-68-10 record against the spread this year.

In December, weather reports become more important than ever. Those must be looked at before you make a decision. It is also important to look at division records. If one of the teams in a game has nothing left to play for, it could sway your decision in the right direction.

If you’ve been riding a team all season, it’s time to reassess the situation and reevaluate if that team’s point spreads are now inflated. Carolina and Arizona both fall into that category from this point forward.

There are no more bye weeks, so we have a full slate of games going forward. If you’re down on the season, it’s now time to make it up and get in the black before the playoffs.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 14 of the NFL season.

2013 NFL Week 13 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Detroit-Lions-Thanksgiving-TurkeyThanks to Denver’s second-half collapse and Houston’s no-show against Jacksonville, I only had a 7-6-1 record in Week 12. I did pick a San Diego moneyline win, so hopefully you put a few jellybeans on that. I have a 91-60-9 record against the spread this year.

At this point in the season, make sure you look at home/road splits and injury reports. Weather reports should also be looked at, but that goes without saying in November and December.

If you’ve been riding a team and they’ve done well against the spread (Carolina), it could be time to look away. The spreads become inflated and the value is sucked out.

There are ZERO teams on bye this week. We actually get a full slate of games to bet. I’m more excited about that than any turkey leg you can put in front of my face.

2013 NFL Week 12 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Matt-McGloin-Oakland-Raiders-NFL-Penn-StateIn a week with little value in any points spread, I managed to go 11-4 week with my picks against the spread last week. I have a 84-54-8 record against the spread this year.

I like a lot of road teams this week in many of the marquee games. The schedule is boom or bust. You have horrible games like Jacksonville at Houston or great games like Denver at New England. I’m sorry if you’re stuck with one of the bad games this Sunday (I suggest you buy NFL Sunday Ticket).

There are four teams on bye this week. That will finally end soon and we will have sixteen games every week. This week, I suggest keeping an eye on injury reports and weather conditions from this point forward.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 12 of the NFL season.

2013 NFL Week 11 – Betting Picks Against Spread

ed-reed-released-2013-sadI started out strong last week, but the late games got me. I had a couple bad beats, but I had a better week than Ed Reed. I still have a strong 73-49-8 record against the spread this year.

I like a lot of favorites this week, but not in the marquee games. I suggest sleeping in on Sunday, since the early slate of games is atrocious. There are some nice bets, but watching those games will be a struggle.

There are only two teams on bye this week. Finally, the weeks of having a half dozen teams on bye are over. I suggest keeping an eye on injury reports and weather conditions from this point forward.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 11 of the NFL season.

2013 NFL Week 9 – Betting Picks Against Spread

crazy-nfl-fan-indianapolis-coltsI had another good week. I went 9-4 last week. I missed on the Atlanta and Kansas City games (like everybody else), but I also picked the Giants on a moneyline play for the upset. My season record against the spread is 61-35-7 on the season.

Say goodbye to any value in the points spreads. The value is now in the decent teams coming off a loss (Atlanta, Dallas, Washington). Those plays are risky, but they’ll payoff again this week. Keep those teams in mind in the coming weeks.

Six teams are on bye this week, so there are three less games this weekend. Whoever made that decision in the NFL office should be fired. I’m sure he’s the same guy who’s pushing for more NFL games in London.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 9 of the NFL season.

Cincinnati-Bengals-NFL-CheerleaderI had a good week. I went 10-5 last week. I missed on the Colts game (like everybody else), but I also picked Buffalo on a moneyline play for the upset. Need betting advice for the NFL games this weekend? We pick every game against the spread in Week 8 of the NFL season.

Say goodbye to any value in the points spreads. The value is now in the decent teams with a bad record (Atlanta, NY Giants, Pittsburgh). Those plays are risky, but they’ll payoff again this week. Keep those teams in mind in the coming weeks.

2012 NFL Team Preview: New England Patriots

For the second time in five seasons, the New England Patriots had a near-perfect season, but fell to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl. They are coming back this season hungry and fully loaded. Head coach Bill Belichick will use their loss as ammunition.

New England managed to keep most of their talent and they added a few Pro Bowlers to the team. They tried to fix their secondary, but didn’t sign anyone significant to make a major difference. The biggest free agent signings were receivers. Their high-octane passing offense could break records this season.

It has been eight seasons since New England has won a Super Bowl, can they get over the hump and add to Tom Brady’s legacy?

Here is our 2012 NFL team preview for the New England Patriots

2011 Win/Loss Record: 13-3

Key Additions: WR Brandon Lloyd, WR Donté Stallworth, WR Jabar Gaffney, TE Visanthe Shiancoe, TE Jake Ballard, TE Bo Scaife, CB Will Allen, LB Chandler Jones, LB Dont’a Hightower, S Tavon Wilson, DE Jake Bequette, LB Bobby Carpenter, CB Marquice Cole, DE Jonathan Fanene, TE Daniel Fells, S Steve Gregory, S Nate Ebner, CB Alfonzo Dennard, WR Jeremy Ebert and OT Dustin Waldron.

Key Losses: RB Benjarvus Green-Ellis, WR Tiquan Underwood, OT Matt Light, RB Kevin Faulk, LB Gary Guyton, DE Mark Anderson, DE Andre Carter, DT Landon Cohen and CB Antwaun Molden.

Non-Division Schedule: AFC South and NFC West

Fantasy SleeperWR Jabar Gaffney – Chad Johnson, Tiquan Underwood and Anthony Gonzalez didn’t make the Patriots team for a reason, Tom Brady has a lot of familiar weapons. Deion Branch and Jabar Gaffney are back to help Tom Brady to become…better?! Gaffney will get a lot of targets, but the wide receiver position is crowded in New England. Brady likes to mix it up and spread the ball around. Gaffney is a risk in even the deepest of leagues, but New England doesn’t have many sleeper options.

Team Analysis: When you take a look at New England’s non-divisional schedule, barring an injury, you know Tom Brady is about to break a few records. He faces the two worst divisions and gets the two best teams (Houston and San Francisco) at home. The “two tight end” formation has transformed Tom Brady’s passing attack. Many of the teams in the NFL are duplicating it, so defenses in the league will be ready. New England has a major advantage, no other team has Rob Gronkowski. At this point, it looks like Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen will be sharing the duties running the ball, with Ridley slated to get the majority of the carries. They will miss Green-Ellis and Faulk early on, but Ridley and Vereen will be sufficient replacements. The team leaders in sacks last season, Andre Carter and Mark Anderson, are not in the team. They will be relying on rookies and new faces to fill that need. The Patriots need a consistent pass rush, because their secondary will be really bad. In 2011, statistically, their secondary was one of the worst in the history of the NFL. Their offense is too good and will overcome their lack of defense. They should be the #1 seed in the AFC and possibly even make another Super Bowl.

By the way, if you’re putting a bet down on the Patriots’ win total, the line is at 12.5. The odds of New England winning over 12.5 games is high, but the risk isn’t worth the juice. There are too many factors that could make them only win 12 games or less (i.e. injuries, tanking the last game). I would stay away from it, but if you’re in a pool and need to guess over/under, pick the over.

2012 Wins Over/Under Line: 12.5 (Prediction: OVER)

2012 Projected Win/Loss Record: 14-2

Robert Kraft Helps Girlfriend Audition For Movie [VIDEO]

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is seen here helping his girlfriend audition for a Vince Vaughn movie. Ricki Lander isn’t officially Kraft’s girlfriend, but no ‘friend’ would humiliate themselves like this. I’m certain that he didn’t expect this video to be public, but I’m glad it happened...I was expecting Jeff Saturday to come into the shot and hug him. #CreepyOldMan
[Video Has Been Blocked by Kraft’s Lawyers]

I will be searching for another video of this audition to post.

Until then, here’s a picture of Robert Kraft picking his nose.

Who Will Sign Chad Ochocinco?

The New England Patriots released Chad Ochocinco today. He struggled with the offense last season and lacked chemistry with Tom Brady. The Patriots signed Jabar Gaffney and Donté Stallworth in the off-season, two wide receivers who have already played with Brady. Their signings made Ochocinco expendable.

Ochocinco is in great condition and is known to be all business behind the scenes. He keeps his nose clean off the field and didn’t do any of his usual outlandish antics with New England.

The league is full of teams in need of a veteran receiver, which one will pull the trigger on Ochocinco?

ESPN Insider had a post earlier today about possible teams that could make a run at signing Ochocinco. They listed St. Louis Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, and Miami Dolphins as teams in the market for a veteran receiver. These teams are full of young receivers, but they also have young quarterbacks who need a reliable receiver as a safety net.

Out of the teams that ESPN lists, Miami would be the best fit. Not only would Ochocinco make their season of HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ watchable, but he would be the best receiver on the team. The Dolphins have a short-term question at quarterback, so they have bigger issues at hand.

Ochocinco has ties to the Miami area. He went to high school in Miami Beach and he currently spends a lot of time there. He is engaged to ‘Basketball Wives’ Evelyn Lozada, the former partner of former NBA player Antoine Walker.

I would put money on his agent getting in contact with Miami, whether they want him is another issue. I believe Ochocinco has a year or two left on his legs. I am crossing my fingers that the Indianapolis Colts take a gamble on the veteran.
