2024 NFL Week 11 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 6-8 against the spread in Week 10.

I had a rough performance in the early games on Sunday, but I was able to do much better from that point on. I was coming off some solid weeks, so this will hopefully be just a small setback.

There are a lot of fun games on the schedule this week. I want to say that there are four must-watch games this week. Unfortunately, due to injury, the Monday night game between the Texans and Cowboys isn’t one of them.

2024 NFL Week 7 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 9-4-1 against the spread in Week 6.

I thought I was going to end up with double-digit wins this weekend, but Jets QB Aaron Rodgers threw a pick in the final minutes of their last to the Bills.

We have an odd schedule of games with a early-Sunday game in London and two Monday Night Football games.

The best teams in the league are beginning to separate themselves from the pack. The Detroit Lions have looked like the best team in the NFC so far this month, but a lot can change moving forward.

Dramatic Shifts in Lombardi Odds: How the 2024 NFL Season’s First Five Weeks Shaped Super Bowl Contenders

The 2024 NFL season is well underway, and there has been no shortage of shocks in the opening five weeks of the campaign. The Cincinnati Bengals were considered genuine Lombardi contenders by many, but their shocking overtime defeat to their AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens on week five has left them 1-4 and with their postseason hopes in tatters. Over in Washington State, the Seattle Seahawks had surprised many with their impressive start to the campaign, but a stunning loss at home to the lowly New York Giants has left supporters reevaluating their hopes for the season.

One thing that has remained constant however is the dominance of the Kansas City Chiefs. Led by the mercurial Patrick Mahomes, the Missouri outfit claimed their second straight Lombardi at Super Bowl LVIII last term, and they show no sign of slowing down. They have begun the new campaign with four straight wins to emphasize their status as favorites to complete the first-ever NFL three-peat.

But while their odds on Lombardi glory remain sturdy, there have been plenty of market movers throughout the first five weeks of the season. Here are the four biggest of them.  Continue reading

2023 NFL Week 16 – Betting Picks Against Spread

derrick henry dottedI went 7-7-2 against the spread during Week 15.

It was a back-and-forth week for me. I would get up by a game and then break even after the next slate of games.

Injuries are always a big issue at this point in ever NFL season. You have to keep an eye on the injury reports since there are a lot of banged-up quarterbacks right now. Also, some of the basement teams are rotating backup quarterbacks to finish the season. You will also see more double-digit point spreads than at any other point in the season (we have a few this week).

2023 NFL Week 15 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 9-4-2 against the spread during Week 14.

It was a solid week overall, but I got my picks up super late. The lines are well-adjusted at that point and it’s hard to get an edge up on them, so it was a nice surprise.

This week, there are a ton of tight point spreads. A lot of home favorite are at -3 and below. These games are notorious for being coinflips, so it could be a tricky week.

We have a full slate of games with sixteen games on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

2023 NFL Week 10 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 11-3 against the spread in Week 9.

I had my best week of the year and I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on a handful of teams. A lot of the marquee teams are on bye this week (Chiefs, Eagles), so a lot of the middle-of-the-road teams will get more action.

The Cincinnati Bengals continued their resurgence and Denver Broncos are officially in the under-the-radar category. They’ve covered against the Packers and Chiefs in their last two games.

Will the San Francisco 49ers rebound from their three-game outright losing streak?

2023 NFL Week 9 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 9-6-1 against the spread in Week 8.

I was once again perfect for all the Primetime games, but was subpar or average on Sunday afternoon. I still ended up positive for the week and I hope to build on this momentum.

After a rough start to the season, it appears that the Cincinnati Bengals are back playing like a possible Super Bowl contender. They have a big test this week as they face the Buffalo Bills.

How will the Vikings fare without starting QB Kirk Cousins?

2023 NFL Week 8 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Kirk Cousins dottedI went 6-7 against the spread in Week 7.

I had an awful Sunday afternoon, but I was able to not completely lose my shirt by going 3-0 ATS on Thursday, late-Sunday and Monday night.

The most shocking outcome last week had to be the Ravens blowout win over the Lions. Baltimore had a stretch of games with a lot of key guys on the injured list. They are getting healthy, and if they acquire a running back, Baltimore could be one of the favorites in the AFC.

We have a full slate of games with zero teams out on bye this week.

2023 NFL Week 5 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 9-7 against the spread in Week 4.

My bets were looking fantastic through the first-half of many games this week, but teams just made some key adjustments and a lot of my bets turned sideways late in the game. I was above .500, but didn’t hit on any parlays this week.

I was high on the Bengals going into this season, but they’ve really disappointed everyone. QB Joe Burrow isn’t 100% and the offense is just broken. They face the a beatable Cardinals team this week, can they turn it around?

2023 NFL Week 4 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 11-5 against the spread in Week 3.

I finally recorrected and was able to put together a positive week. I think we are finally starting to figure out which teams were overrated to start the year.

This could be my last ‘bare bones’ NFL article going forward. The break was very positive for my overall health and just adjusting to the loss of my longtime pet, and adding a new one to my life, has went well so far.

2023 NFL Week 3 – Betting Picks Against Spread

ryan tannehill dottedI had another sub-.500 week, but it wasn’t as bad with a 7-9 record in Week 2.

This week’s article is another bare bones post. It may only be another week or two, but it helped me dedicate some time to work on my mental health. It’s been a rough month or so after my dog passed away. He was 14 years old and was by co-pilot on my lap, or below my feet, for nearly every betting article on this site.

One big positive that happened this week is that I decided to open up my heart to another dog. I was able to get another shih tzu and he’s been amazing. Training a puppy will be a bit difficult, but this little guy is pretty smart.

2023 NFL Week 2 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I had a rough start to the NFL season, but we know go into Week 2 with a lot more information.

This week’s article is bare bones and it may be like this for a week or two. I’ve been dealing with something personal and my mental health is absolute trash right now. I really hit a low about this time last week and didn’t think I could put myself through writing 12k+ words across my normal three weekly articles.

I really do love doing this, but it’s near-impossible when I can’t muster enough attention span to stitch two everyday tasks together. This change will probably be just a week or two.
