‘The Authority’ Storyline Was A Failure for WWE

Triple H Stephanie McMahon WWE The AuthorityI’ve been a fan of pro wrestling as long as I can remember. I love the WWE, but I always root for startup wrestling promotions to do well. No one will ever match WWE’s marketshare, but competition breeds creativity. WWE definitely needs to be pushed.

The WWE has pushed a storyline around Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. The duo call themselves ‘The Authority’ and have been running the company with an iron fist. The storyline officially came into fruition on August 18th, 2013, the night of Summerslam. Triple H caused Daniel Bryan to lose the WWE title to Randy Orton.

The storyline lasted 14 months and will historically be seen as a failure…but it wasn’t completely their fault.

Sports Crush: Jen Hale

Jen Hale legs miniskirt beautiful FOX Sports NFL NBA bikiniWe’ve written a handful of ‘Sports Crush‘ posts since we launched America’s White Boy. We’ve spotlighted female MMA fighters, WWE Divas and female sports reporters like MLB Network’s Heidi Watney, ESPN’s Britt McHenry and NFL Network’s Erin Coscarelli. We decided to profile another female sports reporter, current FOX sports sideline reporter Jen Hale.

You can see Jen Hale every Sunday during NFL on FOX broadcasts as a sideline reporter and during New Orleans Pelicans telecasts on Fox Sports New Orleans.

She was a cheerleader at LSU and then went to Northwestern to earn her Master’s degree in broadcast journalism. She has a huge brain behind that smile.

I want to thank Walker for the email requesting her.

We are crushing on Jennifer Hale and once you look at our photo gallery, you will understand why. Continue reading

2014 NFL Week 12 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Legalize Josh Gordon Cleveland Browns funny tshirt NFL weed marijuanaThe stars aligned last week and I went 9-4-1. I felt confident and knew I would do pretty well. I now sit at 83-74-3 with my NFL picks against the spread this season.

There are some potential blowouts on the schedule this week. I wish that wasn’t the case. I get no fun out of betting double-digit points spreads. I’d rather not root for a boring game.

I had a decent year betting against the spread in the NFL last season (133-95-10). Any year you hit nearly 60% of the NFL games against the spread is a damn good year. Let’s hope my win percentage is near that this season.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 12 of the 2014 NFL season.

2014 NCAA Football – Week 13 Betting Picks Against Spread

I had an up & down week. I went 10-10, but hit on a couple moneyline underdogs. I didn’t foresee the Melvin Gordon’s record day or I would have picked Wisconsin over Nebraska. My record is now 120-96-3 on the season.

Snow blanketed many parts of the Midwest and Northeast this week. Those areas are expected to thaw out and shouldn’t be huge problems. Please keep an eye on weather forecasts in case weather patterns shift.

We were 134-79-8 against the spread betting on college football games last season. We hope to keep it going and help you guys out again this season.

We pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (November 22nd, 2014), and picked some smaller conference games as well. Enjoy!

Could Mayweather vs Pacquiao Happen in 2015?

Floyd Money Mayweather Manny Pacquiao COWBOYS STADIUM BOXING HBO SHOWTIMETop Rank CEO Bob Arum just threw gasoline on a fire many thought had flamed out long ago. He said that talks between CBS/Showtime and HBO have taken place to get the ball rolling on a long-awaited fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Arum was tight-lipped about specifics, but did say that if the fight does happen, they are considering Cowboys Stadium. HBO and Showtime haven’t come together on a deal since 2002 when Lennox Lewis fought Mike Tyson.

Pacquiao has been vocal about Mayweather dodging him. Pacman said he’s ready anytime and that the fight could be worth as much as $1 billion dollars.

Will a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight ever happen?

Which Free Agent Running Back Should the Colts Sign?

LeGarrette Blount Ben Tate Indianapolis Colts Pittsburgh Steelers Cleveland Browns NFL cut signed running backsThe Indianapolis Colts will need to rely on Andrew Luck’s arm even more this season. The team placed Ahmad Bradshaw on season-ending injured-reserve. He broke his fibula late in Sunday night’s loss to New England.

This leaves the Colts quite thin at running back. Trent Richardson and Daniel ‘Boom’ Herron are the only two running backs on the roster. Bradshaw is the second running back Indy lost to IR this season. Vick Ballard blew out his Achilles in training camp back in July.

The Colts are in need of an establishing running back. Richardson hasn’t been the back they thought they were getting from Cleveland and Herron doesn’t have the track record to prove they could rely on him in the playoffs.

We can already strike one name off the free agent running back list. The Colts said they are not interested in Ray Rice. He would need to be reinstated for Indy to even have the option of signing him.

The two names that popped up today are LeGarrette Blount and Ben Tate. Both came available on the market and have the ability to help Indianapolis fill their need.

Which running back is best suited for the Colts?

NFL Suspends Adrian Peterson for Remainder of Season

Adrian Peterson stupid funny NFL Minnesota Vikings suspendedIt was announced today that Roger Goodell decided to throw the book at Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. The NFL ruled they will suspended Peterson without pay for the remainder of the 2014 NFL season. He will not be evaluated for reinstatement until after April 2015. Peterson is expected to appeal the suspension.

Yes, this situation could get even uglier.

ESPN’s Ed Werder said that there’s a possibility Peterson could play this weekend if the arbitrator sides with Peterson.

The NFL must abide by the rules laid out in the CBA…so Goodell must give away some of the power to an arbitrator. Will Peterson suit up this season?

College Football Week 12: Wounded Spartans Take on Maryland Terrapins in Must Win Game

Maryland Terrapins Michigan State Spartans 2014 college football logosThe true strength of a team is often measured in how well they bounce back after adversity. In college football, that usually means picking yourself up after a loss that caused what many might perceive as irreparable damage to your season. The team that has to do that this week is the Michigan State Spartans.

The Spartans were riding high and still very much in the playoff picture before facing Ohio State last week. Sixty minutes later, their hopes and dreams for the season had been pretty much demolished after taking a hefty beating that was sure to have resulted in a shell shocked locker room, and let’s not talk about what happened to their football betting odds to reach the college football playoffs. What made the loss even bitterer to swallow was that the Spartans defense had been so solid all year. If you had told people before that game that Michigan State would put 37-points on the board, very few would have bet on them losing, but the defense folded and gave up 49.

This week they have to go on the road to face a Maryland team that has been about as inconsistent as it gets. They are on a win one/lose one stretch of games that makes them very tough to figure out. This is a team that can’t seem to get a solid 60 out of their offense and defense. When one plays great, the other one seems to struggle. If the defense struggles this weekend, they could be on the end of a hiding.

2014 NFL Week 11 – Betting Picks Against Spread

andrew luck snoop dogg snoop lion robert mathis nfl indianapolis coltsI took a few chances last week and went 6-7. I could have went safe, but felt like there was some value in a few underdogs. I now sit at 74-70-2 against the spread in the NFL on the season.

I’m happy to report that there are only a couple double-digit point spreads this week. There were seven in the previous two week’s combined.

I had a decent year betting against the spread in the NFL last season (133-95-10). Any year you hit nearly 60% of the NFL games against the spread is a damn good year. Let’s hope my win percentage is near that this season.

2014 NCAA Football – Week 12 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 12-8 last week, but I missed the Notre Dame game pretty bad. I admit my failures and oh boy, that one was a big one. My record is now 110-86-3 on the season.

Frigid temperatures are expected to hit across the heart of the country this weekend. Make sure to check the forecast before you lay your bets down. I don’t see any snow, but temps in the 30’s are likely (unless you live on the West Coast or the South…I’m sure those places will still be beautiful).

We were 134-79-8 against the spread betting on college football games last season. We hope to keep it going and help you guys out again this season.

We pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (November 15th, 2014), and picked some smaller conference games as well. Enjoy!

Did Justin Bieber Curse the Steelers?

Justin Bieber Cameron Heyward NFL Pittsburgh Steelers curse funny doucheJustin Bieber visited the Pittsburgh Steelers before last week’s 20-13 loss to the New York Jets. He attended a worship service and took pictures with Cam Heyward, Bruce Gradkowski and others.

Many fans of the black and yellow pointed the finger at the Biebs for their loss. I mean, if you lose to the Jets, you pretty much need some sort of supernatural stuff to blame, right?

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback (and Team Edward member) took to the airwaves and defended the tween idol. He said people often stop by during worship and it’s usually not a big deal. He said Bieber was there was because the person leading the service was mentoring him. Considering the year he’s had, he needs a lot of mentoring.

Martin Jacobson Wins 2014 WSOP Main Event

MartinJacobsonWSOPMainEventWinnerESPNPOKERESPN hasn’t ‘really’ covered poker since Poker’s Black Friday online shutdown in 2011. The sport was hurt and numbers began to dwindle, in players and ratings. ESPN would show it from time to time, but without much fanfare.

The 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event final table was covered ‘live’ on ESPN (with a 30 minute delay). The drama was intense. Sweden’s Martin Jacobson, 27, won his first WSOP bracelet and took home $10 million dollars.

Jacobson defeated Felix Stephensen with pocket tens. He was quick to call Stephensen after going all-in. He ended up winning with three tens.

Jacobson had the chip lead for the last few hours, but only had seven big blinds left early on in the final table. It’s not exactly ‘a chip and a chair’, but it’s pretty darn close.
