2017 NCAA Football – Week 4 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 15-10 last week against the spread. I was skating around the point spreads all over the place. I won a few games by a point or two and also lost them by small margins. Vegas really hit the nail on the head on quite a few games last week.

Now that it is in the fourth week of college football, do you think we know these teams? No, it all changes this week with most of the games being conference games.

A new wrinkle starts to unfold when teams begin to face familiar opponents. We have past data, but past history only goes so far in college football since there is a fast turnover rate.

How will USC QB Sam Darnold fare against Cal’s upgraded defense?

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick 25 college football games against the spread in Week 4 of the NCAA Football season (September 23th, 2017). We also focus on small conference games…our bread and butter!

2017 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 3

It’s only Week 3, but many fantasy teams are already in midseason form…injured with the dubious ‘questionable’ tag attached to at least one player. Even though the NFL has all but eliminated ‘probable’ in hopes of less last-minute injury decisions, it just can’t be prevented.

One of the biggest injuries to occur last weekend was when Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen broke a bone in his foot. He will be out for at least two months while he heals. Rookie RB Christian McCaffrey will benefit from more targets. QB Cam Newton needs a new reliable target and he could be that guy for short range dump passes.

Did you pick up any sleepers this week that will hope to pay off?

Who will emerge from Seattle’s crowded backfield this week?

We help navigate the many decisions you need to make going into the second week of fantasy football.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 3 of the 2017 NFL season.

reDRAFT – 2011 NFL Draft

It’s impossible to grade professional sports drafts immediately after they’re done. It’s easy to just play armchair general manager the next day. The NFL team that drafts the most popular players from teams with the largest college football fanbases, get the highest draft grades. No one is giving a team an A+ to a team that drafts interior linemen.

I recently completed a reDRAFT re-do of the 2010 NFL Draft and think I need to pump out the 2011 version. These two draft classes are quite different from a talent standpoint, but do have one thing in common, it wasn’t a very good quarterback class. Cam Newton was on another level compared to the rest of the group with Andy Dalton, Tyrod Taylor and Colin Kaepernick on the next level down.

In a draft class with Cam Newton, J.J. Watt, Von Miller, Richard Sherman and Julio Jones, which player gets taken first overall?

Which players would be taken in the first-round in a re-do of the 2011 NFL Draft?

2017 NFL Week 2 – Betting Picks Against Spread

After missing two games by a half-point this weekend, I went 10-5 against the spread. I can’t be too sore about the half-point misses cause the ball will fall in my corner at some point this season. I still had a good week.

Week 1 had a lot of new faces making an impact. Marshawn Lynch was trucking defensive lineman for Oakland after sitting out last season. Rookies like Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt also stole the show.

There are so many good games this week. Vegas doesn’t even know what to do with a lot of these games. They gave way too many games point spreads in-between 4 and 5.5.

Will we see more blowouts like the Rams 46-9 win over the Colts?

How many of these gaudy double-digit point spreads will cover?

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 2 of the 2017 NFL season.

2017 NCAA Football – Week 3 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 17-6-2 last week against the spread. I felt pretty good about my picks going into the weekend and even hit on some I waited on and didn’t add to my picks last week. A few lines moved in the right direction and I put a few jellybeans on them last minute on Saturday.

I usually do well during Week 2 of the college football season. You have to know when to pivot away from a team or to keep riding a team that lost in Week 1.

I believe Week 3 is one of the most difficult betting weeks. You have two weeks of data, but half of that data is bad data. You can’t really use the data from a game against Gardner-Webb the same as data against other FBS teams. Since a lot of teams have played at least one ‘gimme game’, there’s a lot of bad information out there that you should just completely ignore.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick 25 college football games against the spread in Week 3 of the NCAA Football season (September 16th, 2017). We also focus on small conference games…our bread and butter!

2017 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 2

I hit on some really nice suggestions last week. I was one of the few people out there to scream the praises of Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp. He was a stud at Eastern Washington and brought his tight routes and sticky hands to the NFL.

I hope Mr. Kupp enjoys my amazing awkward MS Paint sKiLLz.

Did the sleepers you drafted pay off Week 1? Did you already dump those guys?

Who will takeover for injured Arizona RB David Johnson and Jacksonville WR Allen Robinson?

We help navigate the many decisions you need to make going into the second week of fantasy football.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 2 of the 2017 NFL season.

Sports Under The Microscope: How Do Athletes Stay So Healthy?

Now that the fall is here, the sports season is about to kick off. On Thursday, the Patriots and the Chiefs opened the new NFL season, and the Warriors play Denver in the NBA. Then, there is everything from the MLS new season to WWE and MLB. Simply, there are a plethora of games to gorge on in the fall.

But, the fact that sport is back isn’t what is under the microscope. What is under the microscope is professional athletes’ health and well-being. With numerous fixtures and a short recovery time, it is evident that injuries are going to occur. However, it seems that pros from across a range of sports understand how to avoid the pitfalls of injury.

The question is, how do they do it and why is it effective? Here is a selection of answers to consider.

Toy Crazy: Mattel’s WWE Elite Series 53

I’m a self-confessed vintage toy nerd. I collect vintage wrestling action figures from the 80’s & 90’s. I started purchasing some vintage toys out of nostalgia. Well, WWE and Mattel sucked me into their new stuff. I now buy a few figures a month. You can view photos of my collection on my Instagram account.

The lineup in Elite 53 is the first full lineup without any flashback figures in a long time. It’s a smart move by Mattel since there are so many exclusive lines that are only flashbacks. They will eventually run out of older guys if they include two or three per series. Also, it feels like we are a bit behind on elite of some of the guys that appear on TV more since the brand split.

The WWE Superstars included in Elite 53 are Alexa Bliss, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, The Miz, Big E and Heath Slater.

7 Sports You Can Try In Your Living Room

You don’t have to leave the house to get involved in a sport. In fact, you needn’t even venture outdoors into the garden. Here are seven sports that you can try in your living room (although you’d probably struggle to take up all of them indoors).

Cycling

Bad weather is no excuse to not take up cycling. Exercise bikes have made it possible to go on a bike ride in your home. Not only that, but companies such as Zwift.com have digitized indoor biking to make it an experience, dare I say it, better than going outdoors. Virtual games can allow you to cycle in locations around the world and even compete against other Zwift users in their homes.

Sports Crush: Toni Storm

We’ve written over a dozen ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched AmericasWhiteBoy.com. We have spotlighted a ton of WWE Divas (Becky LynchLanaSasha BanksAlexa Bliss, Emma and others). The response has been great. This women’s wrestler isn’t technically signed by the WWE, but Toni Storm is in the WWE’s Mae Young Classic tournament.

Storm was born in New Zealand, moved to Australia at a young age and then moved to England when she was 13. She immediately started wrestling school and debuted soon after in 2009.

She has been a huge part of the resurgence of women’s wrestling in Japan and Europe. She is the current SWA champion in the all-female Stardom promotion. She is also the titleholder in PROGRESS, AAW, British Empire and other promotions.

WWE’s Mae Young Classic was fun to watch and showcased many of the top female talent all over the globe, Storm was one of those women.

The WWE needs to sign her soon. She could be a huge star for them. She’s got the look they love and she can hold her own with the best in the world.

Check out why we are crushing on Toni Storm with our picture gallery, and a very special .gif.

2017 NFL Week 1 – Betting Picks Against Spread

It’s finally time to start picking NFL games against the spread!

A lot of playoff teams from last year come into this year with either relatively the same roster, or even better. Not many of the top teams are expected to fall out of the playoff race this season. The rich got richer this offseason, especially the New England Patriots.

A few rookies are already in impact roles like Deshone Kizer who was named the starting quarterback in Cleveland and players like Myles Garrett, Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey should make an impact in Week 1 of the season.

Can Aaron Rodgers defeat Russell Wilson for a third time in a row?

Will the Colts get blown out in Los Angeles without Andrew Luck?

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 1 of the 2017 NFL season.
