The 2022 Royal Rumble was Four Hours of…Content

There’s usually a buzz that surrounds any of WWE’s Big Four pay-per-view events. I did not feel any buzz this past weekend when WWE had their second-biggest event of the year, the 2022 Royal Rumble.

You could make excuses as to why this event didn’t feel very big, but the biggest one is that WWE no longer has larger-than-life stars.

WWE is getting paid big money for their weekly television, pay-per-views premium live events, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pays them handsomely for two big shows every year for the foreseeable future. They just had an investor call on Thursday and announced their first-ever year $1 billion+ in revenue ($1.095 billion in 2021). They aren’t motivated to make big stars right now. If they made another guy as big as The Rock or Steve Austin, they would have to pay them more and wreck their pay structure. They had their biggest profit ever and they still cited ‘budget reasons’ when they fired dozens and dozens of on-screen talent, and even more off-air employees.

2022 NFL Conference Championship Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 4-4 against the spread last week (and over/under picks).

Last week’s slate of playoff games will go down as one of the best playoff weekends in recent memory. All four games were competitive and each game got better. The finale of Bills/Chiefs was just epic. I really can’t put into words how damn great that game was, you just need to go out of your way to watch the fourth quarter.

The Bengals have a lot of swagger coming into this game. They are clearly playing with house money as no one expected them to be in this spot. You could say the same about the Niners. Will either of the underdogs win outright and earn a spot in the Super Bowl?

We pick both NFL Conference Championship games against the spread and over/under point totals.

2022 NFL Divisional Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 6-6 against the spread last week (and over/under picks).

We have a slate of four games this weekend and the point spreads predict that all four games should be pretty close, as all of them are under a touchdown.

The Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers had first-round byes and come into this week healthier. It looks like they could get some key players back from long absences. The biggest name would be Titans RB Derrick Henry, who led the league in rushing when he went down with a foot injury.

Can the Cincinnati Bengals upset the Titans?

We pick every NFL Divisional Playoff game against the spread and over/under point totals.

2022 NFL Wild Card Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-9 against the spread last week.

We have a slate of six games this weekend and most are rematches from earlier meetings this season. I would preach caution when gleaning too much information from previous meetings, especially those that took place back in October or November.

There’s only one double-digit point spread this week, which is a far cry from some of recent Wild Card Weekends. The table is set for some close games this weekend.

Can the Chiefs cover the double-digit point spread over the Steelers?

We pick every NFL Wild Card Weekend game against the spread.

Hunting Gear That You Can’t Live Without

The thrill of the hunt, one of the most ancient pursuits known to man brought to thrilling life by the abundance of hunting opportunities in the United States. Now, we make no comments or representations to any moral arguments around the topic, you’ll have to decide that for yourself, but if you are planning on going out hunting when the seasons call for it, you’ll be wanting to make certain that you have not just planned for deer season correctly, (or whatever wildlife you’re planning on hunting), but also that you have the best possible gear.

So with those thoughts in the cross-hairs, let’s begin.

2021 NFL Week 18 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 5-9-2 against the spread last week.

Due to kidney stone issues, I had to forego my weekly fantasy football sit/start content. If you have any specific sit/start questions, feel free to send an email to BobbyMcRib@gmail.com.

I usually write around 3,000 words in my weekly NFL betting picks column, but this week will be abbreviated due to my overall discomfort.

The final week of the NFL season is always a gamble as teams play coy about the playing status of their key players.

Which team will win home-field advantage in the AFC, Titans or Chiefs?

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 18 of the 2021 NFL season.

Top 10 NBA Rookies This Season (So Far)

The NBA season kicked off in October, but many don’t pay much attention to it until around Christmas (or when the NFL season ends).

This year’s rookie class has been fun to watch and we already have a tight race for the Rookie of the Year award.

This year’s class looked top-heavy early, but players like Orlando’s Franz Wagner and Oklahoma City’s Josh Giddey are jumping up the leaderboard.

Here are the top ten NBA rookies (so far) this season.

1. Evan Mobley – Cleveland Cavaliers (Picked #3) – Mobley and Barnes have been the two-best rookies so far and have jockeyed between #1 and #2 so far. I wouldn’t put up a fuss if you think Barnes is better, but Mobley has improved every month. His ceiling is really high, and once the Cavs group of young players are 100% healthy next year, they could be a really fun team to watch. He may even lead the Cavs to a playoff berth this year.

2021 NFL Week 17 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 9-7 against the spread last week.

COVID-19 is still running roughshod through the NFL. The list of players in COVID protocol keeps growing every single day. Luckily, asymptomatic players should be able to get off the list faster than in previous weeks due to new guidelines.

I would suggest placing your bets on Saturday night to try to avoid surprises. I was lucky last week and my bets weren’t destroyed by new COVID cases. Last week, I placed my bets Wednesday evening and I wouldn’t advise that unless you want to lock in an advantageous point spread.

2021 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 17

We don’t have a Thursday game this week, so you will have a few extra days to tinker with your lineups.

I’ve been watching for new players placed on the COVID List, which haven’t been as fast and furious as this time last week. I still expect plenty of new names on the list by the kick-off this weekend. It really does throw a new wrench in fantasy football and sports betting.

Since the CDC reduced the amount of time asymptomatic people have to quarantine from ten to five, some of the names could be removed from the COVID list faster than in previous weeks.

Can Bengals QB Joe Burrow replicated his 525-yard performance he had against the Ravens?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 17 of the 2021 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams.

reDRAFT – 2011 NBA Draft

It’s been a few years since I added to our reDraft series. I like the ten-year mark to look back at a draft class and assess the talents. I used to do them after six or seven years, but if you go back and read some of those, they feel dated now due to some players peaking early.

In 2011, Kyrie Irving was drafted first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was arguably the consensus best player in the draft at the time. The drop-off after Irving was steep and few people thought anyone else should have been the top pick in that draft.

The Cleveland Cavaliers had two picks in the top-five. They selected Irving and power forward Tristan Thompson. Things could have been much different had they selected the players we pick in our reDraft.

We look back at the 2011 NBA Draft and reDraft based on their careers so far.

2021 NFL Week 16 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 10-6 against the spread last week.

COVID-19 is running rampant in NFL locker rooms right now. I had to delay my betting picks by a day last week just due to the flood of names coming in. I had to delay it again this week due to games being pushed back to Tuesday night.

I fully expect some more game-changing names to land in COVID protocols by this weekend. I fear it will be like this until the Super Bowl.

Will the Buccaneers bounce-back from a shut-out loss?

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 16 of the 2021 NFL season.
