Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 4

Fantasy football reared her ugly head last weekend. You had some stars suffering bad fantasy weeks and some bench players coming up big.

The bye weeks begin this week with the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers sitting this week out. Fantasy owners will need to replace Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Reggie Cobb, Steve Smith, Jordy Nelson and James Jones in their lineups.

2013 NFL – Week 3 Betting Picks Against Spread

Needed betting advice before the Thursday night’s NFL game? Sorry about that.

My life is seriously fantasy football, college football betting lines and doing research for NBA team previews. I watch the NFL while I do all those things, so my plate is a little full, which explains why I’m posting the NFL betting picks against the spread post on Friday.

I had some nice wins last week, but missed on the Dolphins and Jets.

Can Seattle cover a 19-point spread against Jacksonville on Sunday? It’s one of the largest NFL point spreads in recent memory.

Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 3

Week 2 was a bounce back week for many stars who disappointed in the first week of the season. You had players like James Jones, Pierre Garcon and Calvin Johnson all had big fantasy weeks after having a subpar Week 1.

I hope I helped out fantasy owners last week. I had some good calls, but missed on Garcon and Lacy (due to injury). I feel confident that this week’s edition of Fantasy Football Start/Sit will help fantasy owners win in Week 3.

Colts trade pick for Trent Richardson

The Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns may have just shocked the world.

The Colts are sending a 2014 first-round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns for running back Trent Richardson.

The Colts starting running back, Vick Ballard, tore his ACL in a practice last week, so they were in search for a running back.

Colts owner Jim Irsay hinted on Twitter last week that the team was searching for a replacement for Ballard. Many assumed that they were after Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure. Well, the Colts out-kicked their coverage with this trade. Continue reading →

Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 2

Stars shined in Week 1 of the fantasy football season, but not every star helped your fantasy team (I’m pointing at you, Roddy White). A few fantasy sleepers also put up good numbers and helped many teams in Week 1. Julius Thomas and Harry Douglas definitely helped their teams.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

NFL: Broncos’ Von Miller Faces Suspension

The Denver Broncos could be without their All-Pro linebacker to start the 2013 season. Von Miller is facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s drug policy. He is currently appealing the suspension.

The suspension may not be what you think it’s for.

George Atallah, spokesman for the NFL Player’s Association said the union was working with Miller on his appeal. He then went on Twitter and said, “I can also confirm that Von’s case does not involve the Steroids and Related Substances Policy.”

2013 Fantasy Football: Top 15 Defense/ST Rankings

Over the past ten seasons, it’s rare that the preseason favorite DEF/ST team ends up on top at season’s end, but we do our best to rank the top 15 defenses and special teams for the 2013 NFL season.

With the addition of Percy Harvin, the Seattle Seahawks will be a tough team to pass up in the mid-rounds of your fantasy draft. I know defenses shouldn’t normally picked before the late, late rounds, but I expect big things from Richard Sherman and the rest of the defense…oh, and Percy Harvin possibly running back kickoffs & punts.

Here we go again. NFL training camps are right around the corner and we start to focus on fantasy football. It’s never to early to begin studying, right?

Calvin Johnson had a better statistical season than Jerry Rice and Randy Moss last season. Do you think he’ll regress in 2013? Nope, not a chance.

The #2 spot is up for grabs with A.J. Green, Julio Jones and Brandon Marshall the consensus favorite to be ranked at that spot.

2013 Fantasy Football: Top 40 Running Back Rankings

It’s never too early to start studying for the upcoming 2013 Fantasy Football season. The NFL is now a year-long sport with off-season, draft and training camp spread out throughout the year.

We all know who will be #1 in our running back rankings, it’s a no-brainer. After the year Adrian Peterson had last season, I see no reason why he couldn’t duplicate or exceed his 2012 campaign.

2013 Fantasy Football: Top 25 Quarterback Rankings

It’s never too early to pontificate and post preseason fantasy football rankings.

NFL: Jeff Fisher Supports Helmet Rule Change

It’s official. The NFL changed two rules this afternoon. The Infamous “tuck rule” was nixed and the controversial rule concerning players who lead with their helmet, was passed.

St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher was interviewed about the helmet rule change.

He explains the mood in the room and if he believes the rule will make the referees’ job even more difficult.
