2024 NFL Week 6 – Betting Picks Against Spread

daniel jones dottedI went 7-6-1 against the spread in Week 5.

It was a back-and-forth weekend for me against the spread. I would yo-yo from a win to a loss. I wasn’t able to end the week in the black after a couple of parlays failed (thanks, Raiders).

The Commanders and Giants are two of the biggest surprises through the first five weeks. I would list the Broncos here, but I just can’t stomach watching Denver as their offense makes my teeth hurt.

Can the Bengals get an outright win (and cover) on the road against the Giants?

2024 NFL Week 4 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 8-8 against the spread in Week 3.

I jumped out to a great Week 1, but I’ve been just slightly better than .500 over the last two weeks. I still managed to slightly profit last week thanks to a Commanders moneyline play.

We have two Monday night games again this week, so two more opportunities to ‘get even or get even worse’ from any Sunday losses.

Can Panthers QB Andy Dalton replicated last week’s success against his former team?

2024 NFL Week 3 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 8-7-1 against the spread in Week 2.

After a big Week 1, my picks struggled in the late afternoon games on Sunday. I did manage to hit on one of my parlays, so I was still in the black for the week.

The Minnesota Vikings are currently undefeated and host the Houston Texans this Sunday. Can they continue to buck the trend and start the year 3-0 with Sam freakin’ Darnold at quarterback?

2024 NFL Week 2 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 10-4-2 against the spread in Week 1.

We had a solid start to the season, but you can’t go all-in on a team that either impressed in Week 1 or completely fell on their face. It’s important to lean on your preseason rankings until an injury or something too glaring to ignore happens.

2024 NFL Week 1 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Are you ready to place your bets?

I went 132-116-6 against the spread last season. It wasn’t a banner year and I just hovered around .500 all season long. I hope to start the year off with a big week.

I have written a monster post that somewhat acts like miniature season previews for every team. I can’t commit to writing almost 5k words every week, but I feel like it was needed to start the NFL season.

2024 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 1

I’m so happy to have fantasy football back!

We have a fantastic class of rookie quarterbacks, and a handful will start for their teams in Week 1. There are plenty of new faces starting across the league, so make sure to study all the rosters and depth charts before finalizing your lineups this week.

The Baltimore Ravens travel to the Kansas City Chiefs to kick off the season on Thursday Night Football.

2024 NFL Divisional Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I whiffed pretty bad during Wild Card Weekend. I went favorite-heavy, but the underdogs had a big weekend. The weather played a huge factor in many of the over/under point totals as well.

We have two double-digit point spreads on Saturday, which isn’t very common. We usually see about half of the games on Wild Card Weekend with touchdown (and over) point spreads, but covering double-digit spreads this deep into the postseason is very hard…but I am not betting against both of them.

Can the Detroit Lions continue their playoff run?

2023 NFL Week 17 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-8-1 against the spread during Week 16.

I’ve had back-to-back near.500 weeks and we need to finish the regular season strong.

This week’s trendy thing to do is for head coaches to start their backup quarterbacks. Some are forced to do so, but the Broncos and Commanders are opting to bench their starters to see what their backups can do at this point in the season. I’m curious to see if Jarrett Stidham can do better under center for the Broncos than Russell “Let’s Ride” Wilson.

2023 NFL Week 14 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Lamar Jackson dotted funnyI went 6-7 against the spread during Week 13.

I apologize for being so late with this week’s NFL picks. I’ve had a busy week and another project has taken up way too much of my free time.

We are almost back to a full slate of games, but we are getting to the point where Saturday games will happen soon. This week’s weird due to two Monday Night Football games, so keep an eye on the TV schedule as not all the games will happen on Sundays going forward.

2023 NFL Week 12 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 6-8 against the spread in Week 11.

I’ve historically done really well against the spread on Thanksgiving. I’ve swept the day many times over the years. I’m crawling into the holiday beaten up after a tough week. I hope to continue my Thanksgiving good luck on Thursday.

I worry about the Cincinnati Bengals going forward. QB Joe Burrow is gone for the season and his arm has played such a big part of their win-loss record. Early this season, Burrow wasn’t 100% and the team went on a losing streak. They need strong quarterback play for their offense to work. They could try to lean on RB Joe Mixon, but I’m afraid he’s past his prime.

2023 NFL Week 8 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Kirk Cousins dottedI went 6-7 against the spread in Week 7.

I had an awful Sunday afternoon, but I was able to not completely lose my shirt by going 3-0 ATS on Thursday, late-Sunday and Monday night.

The most shocking outcome last week had to be the Ravens blowout win over the Lions. Baltimore had a stretch of games with a lot of key guys on the injured list. They are getting healthy, and if they acquire a running back, Baltimore could be one of the favorites in the AFC.

We have a full slate of games with zero teams out on bye this week.

2023 NFL Week 6 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-7 against the spread in Week 5.

I’ve been hovering around .500 for the last two weeks. I’m still trying to get a feel for a few teams and the recent injuries aren’t helping me.

We have some stars that won’t be playing for awhile. Vikings WR Justin Jefferson and Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson both landed on injured-reserve this week. The Vikings are still in decent shape at receiver, but his loss will still hurt. The Colts have one of the best backup QBs in the league and I expect the Colts to stay afloat with QB Gardner Minshew and the returning RB Jonathan Taylor.
