2015 NFL Week 3 – Betting Picks Against Spread

weird strange funny NFL picks week 3 2015 America's White Boy sports bettingWeek 2 was rough on many sports bettors across the world. It’s tough to go against how you thought a team would perform so far this season. You can’t completely ditch a team, but you still need to be focus on how a team has performed so far. Week 3 is a rubber week and you can find a lot of value.

I went 8-8 last week against the spread. I missed on some early games, but redeemed myself with a few moneyline plays. I may have finished .500, but I was still in the money.

I would have never thought Philadelphia, Seattle and Indianapolis would all be winless. They could all be undervalued this week…well, two of three teams.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 3 of the 2015 NFL season.

Roman Reigns Needs to Evolve

roman reigns wwe 2015 evolve the shieldWWE is in the midst of a youth movement. Their farm system NXT has been seen as a huge success. Young wrestlers (WWE likes to use the term ‘superstars’) are now more prepared than ever to take the next step and be on the main roster.

Roman Reigns is a product of NXT and is a member of the famed Anoa’i family, which includes The Rock, Rikishi, Yokozuna and over a dozen other former and current wrestlers. WWE had every reason to strap a rocket to him and push him to the top.

They added him to a stable called ‘The Shield’ with two other wrestlers that had a lot of experience in the indies, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. The group has long since been dismantled, yet Reigns still stuck in the same character.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 3 Betting Picks Against Spread

funny week 3 college football picks against the spread ncaa america's white boy key peeleThere were some really fun college football games last week. There were a ton of comebacks and it made for an interesting week betting.

I went 11-9 last week. I missed a few games by a half a point, but made up for it with some moneyline upset bets. A few injuries also messed with what I still feel were smart plays. You can’t predict injuries, so it’s just part of gambling.

There are some banged up quarterbacks out there. Make sure to keep an eye on injury reports as we get closer to kickoff.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (September 19th, 2015), and pick some smaller conference games as well. Enjoy!

2015 NFL Week 2 – Betting Picks Against Spread

funny week 2 nfl betting picks against the spread football handicappingThe first NFL game of the year, Pittsburgh at New England, was a push. It was a ‘backdoor push’, if that’s even a thing. Pittsburgh threw a meaningless touchdown in the final seconds to only lose by seven points. That could be a bad omen for the upcoming year.

I went 9-6-1 last week against the spread. I killed the early games, but the Monday night games got me.

Week 2 is usually full of landmines. You need to use what you saw last week, but also try not to overreact. If you thought a certain team was good coming into the season, but they lost by a touchdown in Week 1, don’t completely abandon the team.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 2 of the 2015 NFL season.

The Mystery of Jason Pierre-Paul’s Hand

Jason-Pierre-Paul-Hand New York Giants NFLWe’ve all heard the story by now. New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul rented a huge truck, filled it with fireworks and then preceded to blow off finger(s) on his right hand.

JPP since went MIA and didn’t report to the Giants for the entire training camp. He didn’t need to show up since he never signed the franchise tag contract. The contract is still on the table, but New York could basically refuse to pay him if they put him on the ‘Non-Football Injury” list. If he missed the entire season while on the list, they wouldn’t have to pay him a dime. Also, the time accrued while on the list doesn’t count towards the player’s pension plan.

There are still questions about the shape of JPP’s hand. Every report gets worse and worse. How many fingers does he have left?

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: September 2015

dumb stupid hipster Sweetbob's Hipster Music Playlist September 2015I’ve been so busy writing football previews and studying sports betting trends that I totally forgot to post my monthly Hipster Music Playlist. I’ve been listening to a lot of music while doing all of the above, so this month’s list is pretty sweet.

I always keep an ear out for new music. I love discovering new bands/songs, it’s a habit from my days as a music journalist. Even though this is mostly a sports blog, I still add quite a bit of music and pop culture content. Keep sending me tracks via email or Twitter. I love checking out all the recommendations you send. Keep them comin’!

I feel like this month’s list is fantastic. We super-sized the list once again with 20 tracks for your ears to drool over (also, don’t forget to check out our Spotify playlist).

2015 NCAA Football – Week 2 Betting Picks Against Spread

funny fan america's white boy ncaa college football picks against the spread week 2 sweetbobSorry I didn’t post a ‘college football picks against the spread’ post last week. I never bet on the first week of college football. It’s too risky and honestly, a lot of it is just dumb luck. You don’t get a preseason to watch the teams and it’s a crapshoot. I like going into a ‘betting season’ with more knowledge than just what comes in a media guide.

I’ve been making college football picks against the spread for the last five or six years. I’ve only been keeping a running total the last two years. I am 282-197-12 during that time.

I’ve been on a hot streak the last two years. Any year in which you have a 60%+ success rate on your bets. it is a successful year. I hope I helped you guys out.

We pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (September 12th, 2015), and pick some smaller conference games as well. Enjoy!

2015 NFL Week 1 – Betting Picks Against Spread

funny america's white boy nfl picks 2015 week 1 against the spread bettingIt feels like Christmas Day! NFL season begins on Thursday and I will be glued to the couch all weekend watching NFL and college football games. It will be glorious.

I’ve went 264-203-19 combined in the past two years picking NFL games against the spread. I’ve been posting my picks for the last five or six years, but really only kept a running total in recent years.

Week 1 is a tricky betting week. You can watch all the preseason football games you want and never get a feel for what the team will look like in their first regular season game.

I’ve been on a roll the last two years by winning over 60% of my NFL game picks against the spread. Let’s hope the hot streak continues.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season.

2015 NFL Team Preview: Washington Redskins

weird funny washington redskins nfl 2015 season team previewI’m sure Washington owner Dan Snyder would like a do-over and avoid mortgaging his future to trade up to draft quarterback Robert Griffin III. His tenure has been marred with injuries, fumbles and mediocrity. If there was ever a quarterback that needed a change of scenery, it would be RG3.

Washington officially starts the ‘Kirk Cousins era’ this year. Will it be as forgettable as the ‘Patrick Ramsey era’ or will he lead the team to a winning record?

The NFC East will be a beast again this season. The Giants, Eagles and Cowboys are all favored to contend for a playoff spot. It will be that much harder for the Redskins to be respectable.

Here is the 2015 NFL team preview for the Washington Redskins.

2015 NFL Team Preview: Tennessee Titans

weird funny 2015 tennessee titans season team preview NFLRemember the Titans? If you don’t live in the state of Tennessee, it’s easy to do. They haven’t been good in awhile and honestly haven’t been on national television much either. They did select former Heisman trophy-winning quarterback Marcus Mariota with the second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. That’s the biggest news since they gave Jeff Fisher the boot.

The Titans are in the unenviable position of being in the same division as the Indianapolis Colts. It’s hard to get into the playoffs when you’re getting lit up by Andrew Luck twice a year. They can’t blame the division much, since they do get to play Jacksonville twice as well.

How will Mariota fare in his rookie year?

Here is the 2015 NFL team preview for the Tennessee Titans.

2015 NFL Team Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

weird funny 2015 tampa bay buccaneers bucs team season preview NFLThe Bucs come into the season after selecting the best quarterback in the 2015 NFL Draft. Former Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston gets to stay in the warm Florida weather. His job will be a lot harder in the pros. He’s no longer surrounded with five-star recruits, although Tampa Bay does have some blue chippers at wide receiver.

The NFC South was an embarrassment last season. Carolina won the division and made the playoffs with a 7-8-1 record. It didn’t help that Tampa Bay went 2-14 either. The Bucs wouldn’t need to improve much to contend within the division.

Winston goes into the season as the starting quarterback. Rookie quarterbacks haven’t fared well historically, but a few have done very well. Can Winston be an outlier?

Here is the 2015 NFL team preview for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

2015 NFL Team Preview: St. Louis Rams

weird st louis rams 2015 nfl team season preview nick folesThe Rams offense got a face-lift this offseason. They literally traded the face of the franchise (Sam Bradford) for what possibly could become the new face (Nick Foles). It was a trade that left many scratching their heads on both sides of the trade. People are still wondering what is wrong with Foles, that we don’t already know, that Philly would trade for the often-injured Bradford.

The NFC West has been one of the best divisions in the NFL. Seattle, San Francisco and Arizona have all made the postseason at least once (if not all three years) in the last three seasons. The Rams have been stuck in the basement. After selecting high in the last few drafts, are they ready to take it to the next level?

How will Foles fare in his first season with the Rams?

Here is the 2015 NFL team preview for the St. Louis Rams.
