What Is Fantasy Football? And Why Is Everyone Playing It?

Have you ever been watching the game, screaming at the coach and thinking ‘I could have done that better myself?’ Well, with fantasy sports games, you have the chance to make it a reality.

What is fantasy football?

Fantasy football is a virtual game, which puts you in the driver’s seat and allows you to make your own strategic decisions about which players you choose for every match. You choose your league and your players, then set your lineup each week. Your team’s success will come down to the real-life performance of the players you choose, so pick your team wisely. Although the original fantasy football game was invented in the UK over 45 years ago it has since evolved to encompass a wide number of games all over the globe, including NFL, and has been made ever more interactive thanks to the powers of the internet.

What is The Future of American Tennis?

As we all know American Tennis has been down recently (on the Men’s Side. Serena Williams and Sofia Kenin are kicking butt right now). The last American to win a Grand Slam was Andy Roddick in 2003… That’s almost 2 Decades ago. There are players in the top 10 (Tsitsipas and Zverev to name 2) that could barely even hold a tennis racquet back then. American Sam Querrey made it to the Semi’s of Wimbledon in 2017 and Quarters in 2019 where he lost to Federer and Nadal respectively. Other than that… nothing. American Tennis has some up and comers that are top 100 but can’t quite seem to break out as elite talents. So what is it about the 2000’s that we can’t quite produce the same level of talent as the 70’s – 90’s when America once dominated tennis.

Super Bowl LIV – Betting Picks Against Spread & Prop Bets

Super Bowl 54 is this Sunday and it’s a prop bets smorgasbord.

I LOVE prop bets. I actually get more joy out of betting Super Bowl prop bets than betting against the spread. Yes, most are a crap shoot, but with the right research, you can end up winning bets with very favorable odds.

I’m not saying you can research who will win the coin toss, but there are many other player and team prop bets out there that have nice odds.

Some prop bets aren’t worth the money (the juice isn’t worth the slight risk), but sometimes you just have to lay a few bucks down, cross your fingers and wish for the best.

I picked out some of the most popular (and the most absurd) prop bets for Super Bowl 54 (or Super Bowl LIV for Roman numeral fans)…and we also pick the game against the spread.

The Headline Performers Scheduled for the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show

We are only a matter of days away from the Super Bowl LIV, with the NFL’s leading contenders to reach the Super Bowl in Miami currently in the midst of the hectic and intense playoffs.

While most ardent NFL fans will be glued to their television screens to watch the two best teams of the season battle for the Lombardi trophy, many others will tune in to watch their favorite entertainers and performers take to the stage during the iconic Super Bowl halftime show.

Historically, the halftime show was a more modest production that didn’t take center stage ahead of the game itself. However, that all appeared to change in 1993 when Michael Jackson was invited to make a headline appearance. His signing helped encourage millions more to tune into the big game, which made the NFL and its broadcasters sit up and take notice of the halftime show’s potential.

2020 NFL Conference Championship Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

Jimmy Garoppolo San Francisco 49ers dottedI went 5-3 last week with my picks against the spread and over/under point totals during Divisional playoff games.

Last week’s games weren’t as crazy as the Wild Card weekend, but they were still a fun watch. The outcomes made for two interesting rematches from earlier this season.

Can Packers QB Aaron Rodgers spoil the Niners playoff run in his return to his hometown area?

Can the Titans use RB Derrick Henry’s legs to win their third-straight upset win and make it to the Super Bowl for the first time in 20 years?

Will Titans QB Ryan Tannehill pull a ‘Kurt Warner move’ and lead his team to the Super Bowl as a backup-turned-starting QB?

We pick both NFL Championship games against the spread and the over/under totals.

All-Name Team – 2020 XFL Players

2020 XFL All Name TeamThe XFL starts next month and we went through the current rosters and players who were drafted into the league. There were some players that were once in our college football all-name teams, which was a fun bonus.

What makes a great football name?

A good litmus test is if it works as a potential pro wrestling name, it works in college football. It also works if a name sounds like a verb, phrase, a certain body part or just a bad ass football name that makes them sound tough.

We went through every team in the XFL (there are only eight). We went through the names and picked out the ones that were funny and some names we just wish we had.

2020 NFL Divisional Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

derrick henry dottedI went 5-3 last week with my picks against the spread and over/under point totals during Wild Card Weekend.

The Wild Card games were fun to watch last week. There were two that went into overtime and the other two games didn’t lack suspense with a pair of upsets.

Will the home teams start the game a little rusty after a week off or will the rest be a big factor in the game?

Will the Titans try to choke the game clock again this week in hopes of keeping Ravens QB Lamar Jackson off the field?

We pick every NFL Divisional Round playoff game against the spread and over/under.

2020 NFL Wild Card Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

Kirk Cousins dottedI finished the year 145-109-7 against the spread during the NFL regular season.

Since there aren’t many games in the playoffs, I also pick over/under point totals as well.

These four games are pretty close, so we aren’t seeing any double-digit point spreads like we’ve seen the last few Wild Card Weekends.

Can the Seahawks win as a favorite while on the road in Philly this weekend?

Can the Patriots bounce back from a bad loss against the Dolphins?

We pick every NFL Wild Card Weekend game against the spread.

2019 NFL Week 17 – Betting Picks Against Spread

jacoby brissett dotted 2019I went 9-6-1 against the spread last week.

I delayed my weekly NFL betting picks by a few days due to Christmas and the fact that not every team out there have announced whether or not they will play their starters this week.

I also decided to not write a fantasy football article this week just due to how random Week 17 can be in fantasy. There are so many variables that can happen and if you’re behind by a lot in your championship game right now, it could be a rough road for a comeback.

There are a ton of games with importance this week, so it should be a rather competitive week. There are only a handful of games with nothing on the line.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 17 of the 2019 NFL season.

2019 NFL Week 16 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-8-1 against the spread last week.

A few more playoff spots could be clinched this weekend. All of the potential playoff teams still have a lot to play for, so I don’t foresee any teams resting their starters.

There wasn’t a Thursday night game this week, but we do see our first Saturday games. There’s a couple of bangers on that day. The Bills/Patriots & Rams/Niners have playoff implications.

Can Ravens QB Lamar Jackson clinch the MVP award with a strong performance against the Browns?

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 16 of the 2019 NFL season.
