2016 NFL Week 7 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished strong last week and ended with a 8-5-2 record. I have went 20-6-3 the last two weeks, which made up for my .500 percentage after the first couple weeks of the NFL season.

I don’t feel like there are as many ‘landmines’ or sucker bets in this week’s lines. Last week was a rough week and took a lot of research and scouring injury reports.

I did about the same amount of work this week and ended up falling in love with a lot of road teams.

2016 NFL Week 6 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I ‘sacked’ Vegas last week and finished with a 12-1-1 record. It was my best finish of the year and hope to carry the momentum forward. I also hit on two nice moneylines last week. I would have had a blemish-free week if it wasn’t for the Eagles.

There are a few weird lines this weekend. Those questionable lines surround average teams being favored by six points or greater. It’s just odd seeing these kinds of odds this early in this year. A few lines appear more like Week 17 lines.

Omameh Most Likely to Replace Joeckel as Left Guard for Jaguars

Although the departure of Luke Joeckel has indeed left a big void, it seems that the Jaguars are gearing up to replace their left guard, and may have already found the right candidate.

As the Jaguars are getting ready to face the Chicago Bears in their upcoming match, it seems that veteran lineman Patrick Omameh is going to be next man up for Jacksonville – something that has sent made certain bookies with their NFL betting lines very happy. Having served as the swing tackle for the team through the first four games, it was perhaps the hard work that he did in relief of Joeckel that earned him the opportunity to be considered as the first candidate to replace Joeckel went the latter went down during the Jaguars’ Week 4 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Omameh held his ground in London and protected quarterback Blake Bortles down the stretch.

Sports Crush: Kay Adams

Kay Adams is one of the hosts of ‘Good Morning Football” on NFL Network and also a co-host of ‘Fantasy Zone’ on DirecTV, a companion of the NFL Sunday Ticket package.

We were once ‘kind of’ co-workers at one time. She worked at the Fanball office in St. Louis doing video work and I was a freelance writer for them covering the Columbus Blue Jackets and Indiana Pacers on their team pages.

She’s cute as a button and if you have ever seen her on television, you know she’s a fun gal.

We have featured many other sports reporters/anchors in the past like Erin Coscarelli, Jen Hale, Britt McHenry and Jenny Dell.

2016 NFL Week 5 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished with a 9-6 record on the week and hit on a couple sweet moneylines, so I’m a happy man.

A quarter of the season is in the books and there’s two teams that have no business being over .500 (Ravens and Rams). I don’t think either will fare well this weekend.

I’ve been hovering around .500 this year and I currently sit at 30-30-3 on the season. I hope to widen the gap between wins and losses. I feel pretty good about this week’s picks.

Is It Time for Colin Kaepernick?

The oh so strange and topsy turvy season of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick may be set to take another turn. Just this week a survey of NFL fans, as reported by Forbes, says that fully 1/3 are less likely to watch the NFL on television because of the national anthem protests that are being led by Kaepernick. The once unassailable television ratings juggernaut that is the NFL has seen an unprecedented drop this season, and at least according to these numbers, their kryptonite is the action spurred on by a single backup quarterback. Although it is also worth noting that Kaepernick’s #7 49ers jersey began the season as the NFL’s top seller, although we can’t be sure that if that’s in support of Kaepernick, or to burn his jersey in effigy.

2016 NFL Week 4 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished with a 8-8 record on the week after laying some stinker bets on the late games on Sunday.

I think it’s now time to start looking at win/loss records. Make sure you look at the opponents because there are at least one weak 3-0 team out there (Ravens).

I’ve been treading water so far this season. I’ve been hovering around .500 every week, but have fell victim to some bad beats and half-point losses. I still feel like I have a good grasp of these teams right now and I’ll start hitting some big weeks soon.

2016 NFL Week 3 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I started off great last week, but the late games destroyed me. I finished with a 7-8-1 record on the week. I really like this week’s lines, so I hope for a better week.

I think you must take records with a grain of salt right now. There are a lot of quality 0-2 teams that play winnable games this week. Also, there are a couple 2-0 teams that have kind of lucked into an undefeated record. Records will start coming into play more after the first four games.

Week 3 is always a litmus test for many teams, especially if you currently sit at 1-1 or even 0-2. You don’t want to fall below .500 or end up winless after three games.

2016 NFL Week 2 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I didn’t start off the year very well. I stuck my neck out and made some risky picks for large point spread covers. None of the larger point spreads covers hit and I was left with a 6-8-2 record on the week.

I gained a lot of knowledge from last week’s games. There are still a lot of question marks this week, but don’t get stuck in some of the team trends from last season. It’s a new season and teams are fresh (and a little rusty). A team may make adjustments and be much better this week.

There can be a lot of value in Week 2 point spreads. The public tends to take a little too much stock in what they saw in the first week. Preseason team rankings will come in handy this week, since a lot of losing teams will bounce back end up 1-1 after this week.

The Rams Should Start Jared Goff Now

The Los Angeles Rams looked horrible in their Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.

The Rams started Case Keenum at quarterback, who looked overwhelmed for nearly the entire game. He threw 35 passes and only average 3.7 yards per attempt…he also threw two interceptions.

The Rams used the #1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on quarterback Jared Goff, but he was third on the depth chart on Monday night, behind former Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion.

Head coach Jeff Fisher announced that he isn’t sure if Goff will be the backup or third-string this Sunday against the Seahawks.

2016 NFL Week 1 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I can’t believe the wait is almost over! NFL season begins on Thursday and I will be glued to the couch all weekend watching football games. It will be glorious.

I’ve went 414-311-28 combined in the past three years picking NFL games against the spread. I’ve been posting my picks for the last six or sevenyears, but really only kept a running total in recent years.

Week 1 is a tricky betting week. You can watch all the preseason football games you want and never get a feel for what the team will look like in their first regular season game.

Betting Picks: 2016 NFL Over/Under Season Wins

We are a few days away from the start of the 2016 NFL season. This is the very last minute to start thinking about possible bets for over/under regular season team wins.

A lot can happen from now until the end of the season (injuries, coaching changes, etc). We will attempt to help you make a better decision on which teams to lay bets on.

We didn’t just look at the lines and guess at our over/under picks. We went through the entire schedule in the NFL and picked every game.
