2018 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 1

It’s now time to see how well you did in your fantasy draft.

Will your sleeper pay off Week 1?

Was drafting a running back in the first round a mistake?

A strong Week 1 is good, but you can bounce back from it. There’s a chance the waiver wire could be your friend before Week 2…because there will always be those Week 1 studs that will go from 5% ownership to 90% by the second game.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season…and enjoy our strange MS Paint masterpiece of Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Betting Picks: 2018 NFL Over/Under Season Wins

We are just a few days away from the start of the 2018 NFL regular season. This is the very last minute to start thinking about possible bets for over/under regular season team wins. I wanted to wait until all the ‘this guy will miss the season due to an injury that occurred in a game that doesn’t count’ announcements. Also, it was helpful to know that Buffalo is already punting the season by naming Nathan Peterman as the starting quarterback.

We didn’t just look at the lines and guess at our over/under picks. We went through the entire schedule in the NFL and picked every game.

A lot can happen from now until the end of the season (injuries, coaching changes, etc). We will attempt to help you make a better decision on which teams to lay bets on.

2018 Fantasy Football Rankings – Top 50 Tight Ends

This might be the deepest tight end has ever been.

Yes, there is a small dip in production after Gronk and Travis Kelce, but it’s not much. After those two guys, there’s another eight tight ends that I would group together. I’d be perfectly fine with any of the top-ten tight ends being my starter. I normally can’t say that since by the time you get to #8, you’re stuck with a guy who shares playing time or doesn’t get enough targets to help in PPR leagues.

Are any rookie tight ends worth a look this season?

Here are our top 50 tight ends for the 2018 fantasy football season.

2018 Fantasy Football Rankings – Top 100 Wide Receivers

I wasn’t expecting my wide receiver fantasy rankings to be over four thousand words, but it happened.

Wide receiver is quite deep this year and there is just a lot of information you need to swallow to make educated decisions on draft day. I’d rather write a few extra sentences than to omit some information you may need to make your decision.

Quarterback fantasy numbers have been through the roof the last few seasons. Wide receiver numbers are trending higher due to pass-friendly offenses. Teams are also lining up in more four and five-receiver formations. Also, the popularity of PPR leagues have made picking wide receivers that much more important.

Which sleeper wide receivers are we expecting big things from this year?

Here are our top 100 wide receivers for the 2018 fantasy football season.

2018 Fantasy Football Rankings – Top 100 Running Backs

While compiling my yearly fantasy football rankings, it made me miss hoodie weather. I will not miss peeling myself off my car’s leather seats and walking around with a back sweat circle. Football season cannot come soon enough.

Thanks to last year’s awesome rookie running back class, running back position is pretty deep this year in fantasy. You’re will always have a drop-off after the first two or three running backs are off the board, but you can still get quality running backs deep in this year’s draft.

Le’Veon Bell and Todd Gurley are the two guys many will choose with the first overall pick in your draft. Could any other running back be selected before them?

Which rookie running backs should you keep an eye on?

Here are our top 100 running backs for the 2018 fantasy football season.

2018 Fantasy Football Rankings – Top 50 Quarterbacks

We are a month away from the start of the 2018 NFL regular season!

You are most likely a couple weeks away from your fantasy football draft, but we want to get you informed early.

The quarterback position can make or break your team. It’s hard to bounce back from a huge whiff at that position. It’s important to select a quality QB2 in case you draft a complete bust.

The 2018 NFL Draft had a handful of rookie quarterbacks selected in the first two rounds. There are a couple that have a shot of starting this season, but it would take an injury (or two) for the rest to throw a pass this season.

Is there a surprise #1 QB ranking?

The 10 Worst Contracts in Sports Right Now

When a team has ample salary cap space, general managers tend to make poor decisions.

Most of the worst contracts are in the NBA and Major League Baseball. It’s really hard to have a bad contract in the NFL since nearly every deal is basically a series of one-year deals with team options. Bad contracts still happen in the league when guaranteed money gets out of control.

Many of the worst NBA contracts right now happened when the salary cap ballooned before the 2016-17 season. Many of those deals have teams already looking for relief by trading draft picks to teams just to take on a bad contract.

Here are the the ten worst contracts in sports.

8 Players That Changed the NFL Draft

Every NFL Draft there seems to be a new trendy way to grade a draft class. The grading process changes every year based on team needs and new play-calling trends.

There have been a few individual players over the years that solely changed the way NFL teams draft.

These players changed the ‘norms’ many NFL scouts thought about certain players and helped (or hurt) other players with similar skill-sets. Yes, not all of these changes were for the better.

Michael Vick

Vick helped open the door in two different ways: His success helped more African American quarterbacks get drafted in the following years, and more athletic quarterbacks were taken high soon after Vick was drafted in 2001.

Can Johnny Manziel Make It Back to NFL?

Johnny Manziel was once the most exciting college football player. He went on to win the Heisman Trophy as a redshirt freshman. Off-field issues took some of the luster off him and he fell to the 22nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He started eight games for the Cleveland Browns over two seasons. He was released after just two years with the Browns.

‘Johnny Football’ has been a free agent since early-2016. He hasn’t stayed out of the headlines as basically anything he does makes news. His alleged substance abuse issues were so bad that his dad thought the young man would die if he didn’t seek professional help. His issues hurt his stock as a free agent to the point that his agent fired himself. Manziel finally sought help and has been focused on getting his life back. He has even admitted that during his time at rehab he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is now taking medication to help with the issue.

NFL: Which Teams Will Sign the Best Remaining Free Agents?

The NFL Draft is now in the rear-view mirror and teams have a better outlook on what they need going into training camp. Also, a few teams cut some veterans after recently drafting their replacements.

There are some former Pro Bowlers still unemployed. Some of them are due to salary cap issues and some are more for off-the-field stuff.

Some of these free agents will probably go unsigned until preseason games begin as teams will suffer injuries. A few may even go into the regular season without a job.

2018 NFL Draft: Best Undrafted Players

256 players were drafted in the 2018 NFL Draft over a three-day period. Some of those players will never play one down in a regular season NFL game. On the other side of the coin, many college players that went undrafted could end up having long careers in the NFL.

Kurt Warner went undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft. He was a training camp invitee with the Green Bay Packers. He was released before the season and then found himself in the Arena Football League. He was successful there and then signed by the St. Louis Rams. Starting QB Trent Green suffered an ACL injury in the preseason and Warner was named the starter. He went on the win the Super Bowl that season. Warner is now a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Other recent undrafted players that had success in the NFL: RB Thomas Rawls, LB Zach Orr, WR Willie Snead, CB Malcolm Butler, RB Corey Clement, WR Robbie Anderson and many others.

2018 NFL Draft: Which Quarterback Will Be Best Pro?

Quarterbacks are always at a premium in the NFL Draft. Teams reach for signal callers every single year. Some years work out great (2004) and some years are a disaster (2007).

Thanks to the NFL Rookie Wage Scale, teams have jumped at the chance of getting a possible franchise-changing quarterback in the early first round at a discount. Teams have traded huge hauls and mortgaged their future by trading up for a quarterback. The Redskins gave the Rams a large package of picks for Robert Griffin III (which didn’t work out long-term) and the Eagles gave the Browns a litany of future picks for Carson Wentz (too early to call).

The 2018 NFL Draft quarterback class is being touted as one of the best in many years. There are four quarterbacks that could be taken within the first five picks. Which one will be the best pro?

Here is our somewhat novice look at which quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft class will be the best pro.
