2015 NFL Week 8 – Betting Picks Against Spread

The Lions fired a ton of their offensive coaching staff and promoted a guy named Jim Bob Cooter to run the offense. He has the best name in the NFL and possibly the entire world. We wish him the best of luck…he will need it.

I went 7-6 against the spread last week. I hit on an underdog moneyline with Oakland to come out positive on the week.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 8 Betting Picks Against Spread

It finally feels like football weather outside here in Indiana. It’s the exact moment when you get the sudden urge to eat something with pumpkin spice.

Let’s take a moment to discuss the Michigan punter’s error or terror. The look on his face is the perfect reflection of how he feels inside. It was a devastating loss and will go down as one of the most improbable ways to lose a game.

There are some nice matchups this weekend, but it’s the usual lull before the rivalry games kick in the next few weeks.

2015 NFL Week 7 – Betting Picks Against Spread

As a Colts fan, I was utterly embarrassed by the ‘snapfu’ fake punt they tried to convert against the Patriots on Sunday night. I’m beginning to think it wouldn’t be a bad idea if the Colts let head coach Chuck Pagano walk after this season.

I went 7-6-1 against the spread last week. I hit on a couple underdog moneylines and the Colts backdoor cover helped me out a bit.

It’s getting close to the time in which weather becomes a factor. It doesn’t appear that it will affect the games this weekend, but it will become an issue soon.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 7 Betting Picks Against Spread

It’s my birthday weekend! I hope the gambling gods will be kind to me on Saturday.

I went 12-8 last week. I missed on Oklahoma, but nearly ran the table on my ‘Quick Hits’ last week. The SEC hasn’t been kind to me so far. The MAC and Big Ten has made up for it though.

The weather isn’t expected to be a huge issue this weekend. The Midwest is due for regular seasonal weather. It will be nippy, but it looks clear.

2015 NFL Week 6 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Patriots and Colts fans have had this weekend’s upcoming game circled since the schedule was announced. The Patriots have dominated teams so far and the Colts just hope to get their quarterback on the field.

I went 7-6-1 last week against the spread. I felt pretty good about the outcome. I missed a few early games, but rebounded with the late games. I had two underdog moneyline plays that paid out.

A few players are returning from injuries this week and it doesn’t appear that the weather will play a huge factor this weekend. All eyes are on Andrew Luck since the Colts haven’t made it clear if he will start on Sunday night.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 6 Betting Picks Against Spread

I’m still hovering around .500 for the year. I once again moved some of my rankings around and think I’ve got a good handle of the lines. Teams are now in their conference schedule, so historical information comes into play more and more as the year moves along

I went 11-9 last week. I really thought Ole Miss and Georgia were the two best teams in the SEC, but they both fell last week. Also, Michigan and California keep surprising me (for good and bad reasons).

2015 NFL Week 5 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Week 4 seemed a bit early to start worrying about major injuries to key players. We wrote last week’s article on Thursday morning and things changed so much from then until Sunday morning.

I went 7-5-1 last week against the spread. I pulled two games off the board due to last-minute injury substitutions. Sportsbooks adjusted the lines too late in the week after Hasselbeck started for the Colts and Brees started for the Saints.

A few players are returning from injuries and suspensions this week. Andrew Luck appears to be ready to start on Thursday, but is it too early? Also, thankfully we don’t have a London game this week, so we can all sleep in on Sunday.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 5 Betting Picks Against Spread

I’ve been hovering around .500 so far this year. I have moved some of my rankings around and hope to have a big week. Most teams are now into their conference schedule, so there will be less spreads of 30+ and we have some historical information to help our picks.

I went 9-10-1 last week. I whiffed on BYU/Michigan and a couple others. I felt some of the picks were ‘smart’, but they did not hit. A few balls fell in the other direction in those games.

2015 NFL Week 4 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I had a great week against the spread in Week 3. I had two weeks to look at the teams and adjusted the rankings I made this offseason.

I went 12-4 last week against the spread. I also just missed two games by a single point. I hope I stay hot this week in which there are some nice home underdogs.

Philadelphia, Detroit and Indianapolis all have yet to play up to the level I thought they’d be at right now. Philly is dealing with injuries in the backfield, Detroit has had a tough schedule so far and Indy appears like something is destroying the team from the inside.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 4 Betting Picks Against Spread

Many of the top teams in the nation didn’t perform up to expectations last week. I hate betting on large spreads, especially when a ranked team faces a small school. So many things have to go right for them to cover, but also small schools sometime just show up to cash a check. It’s a coin flip.

I went 10-10 last week. I whiffed on a few that lost badly, but still feel good about those picks. Sometimes you can still make a ‘smart pick’ and have it lose. It’s all part of gambling. The same system or strategy will win games later on.

2015 NFL Week 3 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Week 2 was rough on many sports bettors across the world. It’s tough to go against how you thought a team would perform so far this season. You can’t completely ditch a team, but you still need to be focus on how a team has performed so far. Week 3 is a rubber week and you can find a lot of value.

I went 8-8 last week against the spread. I missed on some early games, but redeemed myself with a few moneyline plays. I may have finished .500, but I was still in the money.

I would have never thought Philadelphia, Seattle and Indianapolis would all be winless. They could all be undervalued this week…well, two of three teams.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 3 Betting Picks Against Spread

There were some really fun college football games last week. There were a ton of comebacks and it made for an interesting week betting.

I went 11-9 last week. I missed a few games by a half a point, but made up for it with some moneyline upset bets. A few injuries also messed with what I still feel were smart plays. You can’t predict injuries, so it’s just part of gambling.

There are some banged up quarterbacks out there. Make sure to keep an eye on injury reports as we get closer to kickoff.
