2017 NCAA Football – Week 7 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went .500 again last week, but still felt pretty good about my picks. I missed a few by a field goal or less and a play or two didn’t fall in my favor.

This is the time of year when weather reports could become important. I don’t see any extreme weather conditions this weekend though. The Midwest looks like it will mostly be in the 70’s.

The best teams in the nation are starting to receive some ridiculous point spreads. Alabama and Georgia both have spreads of 28 points and higher. Can these SEC beasts cover these against other SEC teams?

Neither Los Angeles school has been very good against the spread this season. Can USC and UCLA avoid another loss against the spread?

2017 NCAA Football – Week 6 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went .500 last week, but hit on a couple moneylines to make up for a few bad beats. A few of those beats came during garbage time, which is always a mood killer.

There are some traditional rivalry games like Florida State/Miami, LSU/Florida and Michigan State/Michigan games that could be tricky. Records can be deceiving when rivals face each other. It’s nice to go back and look at historical data, but only if some impact players have played in those seasons.

We are approaching the time when you can start comparing teams with common foes. If ‘X’ beat ‘Y’ and ‘Y’ beat ‘Z’, ‘X’ should be favored against ‘Z’. It’s not always the case, but it can held you maintain your own rankings.

Can Washington State cover at Oregon?

2017 NCAA Football – Week 5 Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished around .500 last week against the spread. I had trouble in the early games, but the late games bailed me out. There were some unexpected outcomes that I thought came out of nowhere. I thought Penn State and Florida would both cover the spread easy, but Iowa and Kentucky held on tight. I did call the NC State upset over Florida State, so I scored some jellybeans from the moneyline.

A few things I took away from last week was that Georgia is better than I thought, Oklahoma State isn’t bulletproof and USC QB Sam Darnold is still in the middle of a sophomore slump.

Now that it is in the fifth week of college football. Everyone is deep in their conference schedule. A lot more empirical data to use due to more head-to-head history,

Will USC QB Sam Darnold snap out of his slump against Washington State?

2017 NCAA Football – Week 4 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 15-10 last week against the spread. I was skating around the point spreads all over the place. I won a few games by a point or two and also lost them by small margins. Vegas really hit the nail on the head on quite a few games last week.

Now that it is in the fourth week of college football, do you think we know these teams? No, it all changes this week with most of the games being conference games.

A new wrinkle starts to unfold when teams begin to face familiar opponents. We have past data, but past history only goes so far in college football since there is a fast turnover rate.

How will USC QB Sam Darnold fare against Cal’s upgraded defense?

2017 NCAA Football – Week 3 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 17-6-2 last week against the spread. I felt pretty good about my picks going into the weekend and even hit on some I waited on and didn’t add to my picks last week. A few lines moved in the right direction and I put a few jellybeans on them last minute on Saturday.

I usually do well during Week 2 of the college football season. You have to know when to pivot away from a team or to keep riding a team that lost in Week 1.

I believe Week 3 is one of the most difficult betting weeks. You have two weeks of data, but half of that data is bad data. You can’t really use the data from a game against Gardner-Webb the same as data against other FBS teams. Since a lot of teams have played at least one ‘gimme game’, there’s a lot of bad information out there that you should just completely ignore.

2017 NCAA Football – Week 1 Betting Picks Against Spread

It’s finally time for some college football! It has been a long year and football is a good excuse to sit around all day, eat bad and partake in a few adult beverages.

This season kicks off in a big way with some huge games. You do have a healthy dose of enormous point spreads in ‘warm up’ games for big programs, but Alabama/Florida State and Florida/Michigan games are worth waiting out some blowouts this weekend.

Will any player jump out in front of the Heisman race like Lamar Jackson did in the first week last year?

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick 25 college football games against the spread in Week 1 of the NCAA Football season (September 2nd, 2017). We also focus on small conference games and Thursday night games.

Are there any upsets you have your eye on this week?

Betting Picks: 2017 College Football Over/Under Season Wins

The 2017-18 NCAA football regular season has already started (sort of). There have only been a few games played and most teams start the season late this week or over the weekend.

I have had a pretty confident on these regular season wins prop bets, but just wanted to be 100% sure a guy like USC’s Sam Darnold or Penn State’s Saquon Barkley didn’t suffer a major injury during a preseason scrimmage.

I’ve been working on these picks for quite awhile. I’d work on it for a few days and then come back to it. I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to picking over/under totals.

There are a lot of even win totals, so if I pick ‘PUSH’, it’s mostly just advising you to avoid betting on this team, since the win total will most likely be the real win total. I don’t want you to basically loan your betting site x-amount of dollars just to get back the same amount in early-December.

2017 NFL Draft: Best Undrafted Players

2017-nfl-draft-best-undrafted-players-bug-howard-north-carolina-tar-heels-WRThe 2017 NFL Draft is officially complete and street sweepers are cleaning up the aftermath in Philly.

253 players were drafted over a three-day period. Some of those players will never play one down in a regular season NFL game. On the other side of the coin, many college players that went undrafted could end up having long careers in the NFL.

Kurt Warner went undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft. He was a training camp invitee with the Green Bay Packers. He was released before the season and then found himself in the Arena Football League. He was successful there and then signed by the St. Louis Rams. Starting QB Trent Green suffered an ACL injury in the preseason and Warner was named the starter. He went on the win the Super Bowl that season. Warner will be inducted in the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio late this Summer.

2017 College Football Signing Day: All-Name Team

We have made lists of great names in college basketball and football over the years. We even once made an all-name team list for the MLB Amateur Draft.

I was planning on doing the same for college football signing day, but nothing will ever top Kobe Buffalomeat…so he’s the only name on the list.

2016 NCAA Football – Week 14 Betting Picks Against Spread

americas-white-boy-ncaa-college-football-week-14-penn-state-nittany-lions-cheerleaders-picks-gamblingI went 14-11 with my picks last week. It was the last week in which they are at least 25 games, so I went ahead and picked every single college football game against the spread this weekend.

The College Football Playoff could be a mess this season. There will be a team or two that will be left out that will have a legitimate argument for their inclusion. The Ohio State loss to Penn State is the reason for the extra drama this weekend.

I am really looking forward to watching all the conference championship games this weekend. I think they will all be fun to watch, except for the Alabama/Florida game, which could be a blood bath.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick every college football game against the spread this weekend.

2016 NCAA Football – Week 13 Betting Picks Against Spread

americas-white-boy-college-football-betting-picks-against-the-spread-week-13-ohio-state-buckeyes-cheerleaders-ncaaI started to second-guess my decision to increase my picks to 25 games, but I went 19-6 last week. The weather helped my picks since many games in the Midwest had gusting wind.

This is a huge rivalry week across the country. There are rivalry games like Michigan/Ohio State and Washington/Washington State that will factor in who will appear in conference championship games. The OSU/Michigan game will help weed out the logjam at the top in the College Football Playoff rankings.

This week’s schedule has a lot of large point spreads, but I still see value across the board.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (November 26th, 2016) and a few Friday games. We also pick five extra games as a bonus.

Can Ohio State Really Make the College Football Playoff?

ohio-state-buckeyes-college-football-playoff-2016-2017-oddsThe Ohio State Buckeyes ended up being the #2 ranked team in the College Football Playoff this week. They benefited from three of the top four teams losing last week.

If history has any relevance here, Ohio State’s loss to Penn State worked in their favor since the earlier a team loses, the less affect it has on the final college football playoff rankings. Although in Ohio State’s case, that loss could have much more of an impact since it could cost them an appearance in the Big Ten Championship game.

There’s still a lot of football left to play, but Ohio State does not control its own destiny. Yes, if they beat Michigan in the final week of their regular season, it would almost cement their spot in the College Football Playoff, but as we’ve seen before, a team that leaves their fate in the hands of a committee that selects teams, can be burned.
