2020 NFL Week 15 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 11-5 against the spread last week.

I was actually 8-1 against the spread at one point, but the late games on Sunday afternoon/evening made the record a little less remarkable. I’m still happy with the overall outcome. I also benefitted from the late safety in the Ravens/Browns game.

There are a handful of double-digit point spreads this week. We have been able to avoid a lot of those this year, but December is always filled with some lopsided point spreads, so it is expected at this point.

Can the Dolphins cover the spread at home against the Patriots?

2020 NFL Week 12 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 6-8 against the spread last week.

This was my first week that I went under .500 this season. I had a rough stretch of afternoon games that really tanked my record for the week.

The Steelers/Ravens game was going to be the best game on Thanksgiving (by far), but due to Baltimore’s COVID-19 outbreak, it was moved to the early game schedule on Sunday.

Can I get another clean Thanksgiving sweep against the spread?

2020 NFL Week 11 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-4-3 against the spread last week.

There have been some COVID-19 activity this week. There have been a few teams that have transferred players to the COVID-19 reserve list. The Las Vegas Raiders could miss many key players on defense this week.

The marquee game this week is the Los Angeles Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game on Monday Night Football.

How will Tom Brady fare against the Rams stout defense?

2020 NFL Week 9 – Betting Picks Against Spread

daniel jones dottedI went 7-7 against the spread last week.

I was able to make a comeback last week after having a rough stretch in the early games, but nearly ran the table the rest of Sunday.

There are some COVID-19 issues on the Ravens right now, but they think it’s under control. They added seven to the COVID-19 reserve list. They haven’t had any positive tests since.

A few teams are dealing with quarterback injuries and we will see two new faces starting this week for the Cowboys and Jaguars.

How will Jaguars rookie QB Jake Luton fare against the Texans?

2020 NFL Week 8 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-7 against the spread last week.

There were a ton of games that came down to the final play of the game to ruin covers. The last-second Lions win and a late missed extra-point in the Browns/Bengals game ruined a lot of bets.

There currently aren’t any games in jeopardy due to COVID-19 positive tests right now. It’s only Wednesday, so things could change since positivity rates have increased all around the country.

Will the Steelers fare well against QB Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens?

2020 NFL Week 7 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Jimmy Garoppolo San Francisco 49ers dottedI went 8-6 against the spread last week.

As of Wednesday night, it looks like all these games are set to be played at their scheduled time. We haven’t seen as many positive COVID-19 tests this week, but considering the entire country has seen a sharp increase, we could see some before Sunday’s slate of games.

The marquee game this week appears to be the Pittsburgh Steelers versus Tennessee Titans contest. The Titans have had a string of marquee games and they’ve came out on top in all of them so far. Can they hold off Pittsburgh on Sunday?

Can Jimmy Garoppolo lead the Niners to a cover in New England?

2020 NFL Week 6 – Betting Picks Against Spread

daniel jones dottedI went 8-6 against the spread last week.

We are starting to get an firm grasp on which teams are potential playoff teams and which teams look like they could be headed in the ‘Tank for Trevor Lawrence’ direction.

We don’t have a Thursday night game this week, but we have two games Monday evening. They moved the game since the Bills played on Tuesday and it would have been insane if they were forced to play just two days later.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers heads to Tampa Bay on Sunday to face QB Tom Brady. Can the Bucs give the Packers their first loss?

2020 NFL Week 5 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 8-7 against the spread last week.

Last week, we had one cancelled game due to COVID-19 and it was rescheduled. The later these COVID-19 cancellations happen, the harder it will be to find a proper date to reschedule the game.

We aren’t free from more potential cancelled games this week. There are two games that are currently ‘off the board’ as of late Wednesday night. If those games aren’t cancelled, I will have picks up once the lines are available.

Can Chargers rookie QB Justin Herbert cover against the spread on Monday Night Football?

2020 NFL Week 2 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Gardner Minshew dotted final fantasyI went 11-5 against the spread last week.

I really don’t want to go through picking NFL games against the spread in Week 1 without a single preseason game ever again. It was a tall task and I’ll take the 11-5 record as a personal victory.

Do you guys think home teams have much of an advantage this season? There are limited fans and the whole situation is weird for both teams. The travel aspect is a huge factor though. I am curious to see the final home records at the end of the year to see how it all shakes out.

Can Jacksonville QB Gardner Minshew III lead the Jaguars to back-to-back covers against AFC South teams?

2020 NFL Week 1 – Betting Picks Against Spread

The first week of the 2020 NFL regular season is here!

It’s been a crazy offseason with the pandemic hitting causing the cancellation of the preseason games. We are going into this season pretty blind, but we at least have some beat reporters and television networks speaking with coaches on a regular basis.

There was a huge shuffling of quarterbacks this offseason that saw Tom Brady (Tampa Bay), Philip Rivers (Indianapolis) and Cam Newton (New England) starting for new teams.

Can Tom Brady lead Tampa Bay to a win against the New Orleans Saints?

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season.

Super Bowl LIV – Betting Picks Against Spread & Prop Bets

Super Bowl 54 is this Sunday and it’s a prop bets smorgasbord.

I LOVE prop bets. I actually get more joy out of betting Super Bowl prop bets than betting against the spread. Yes, most are a crap shoot, but with the right research, you can end up winning bets with very favorable odds.

I’m not saying you can research who will win the coin toss, but there are many other player and team prop bets out there that have nice odds.

Some prop bets aren’t worth the money (the juice isn’t worth the slight risk), but sometimes you just have to lay a few bucks down, cross your fingers and wish for the best.

I picked out some of the most popular (and the most absurd) prop bets for Super Bowl 54 (or Super Bowl LIV for Roman numeral fans)…and we also pick the game against the spread.

2020 NFL Conference Championship Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

Jimmy Garoppolo San Francisco 49ers dottedI went 5-3 last week with my picks against the spread and over/under point totals during Divisional playoff games.

Last week’s games weren’t as crazy as the Wild Card weekend, but they were still a fun watch. The outcomes made for two interesting rematches from earlier this season.

Can Packers QB Aaron Rodgers spoil the Niners playoff run in his return to his hometown area?

Can the Titans use RB Derrick Henry’s legs to win their third-straight upset win and make it to the Super Bowl for the first time in 20 years?

Will Titans QB Ryan Tannehill pull a ‘Kurt Warner move’ and lead his team to the Super Bowl as a backup-turned-starting QB?

We pick both NFL Championship games against the spread and the over/under totals.
