2023 NFL Week 4 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 11-5 against the spread in Week 3.

I finally recorrected and was able to put together a positive week. I think we are finally starting to figure out which teams were overrated to start the year.

This could be my last ‘bare bones’ NFL article going forward. The break was very positive for my overall health and just adjusting to the loss of my longtime pet, and adding a new one to my life, has went well so far.

2023 NFL Week 1 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Are you ready to place your bets?

I went 148-133-8 against the spread last season. It wasn’t a banner year and I just hovered around .500 all season long. I hope to start the year off with a big week.

I decided to kick off the season a little different this season. I decided to get some help fleshing out the opening week’s column. I asked Google’s Generative AI to add some season preview insight about every team. Their input is the first two paragraphs of every game breakdown. Artificial Intelligence still has a long way to go for accuracy, so I had to correct some items…as it thought Mike McCarthy was the Patriots head coach.

2023 NFL Divisional Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

Last week, I went 4-2 against the spread and 2-4 with my over/under picks.

Most of the games were fun to watch and I love this week’s slate of playoff games. There are some interesting match-ups and a few young quarterbacks could move up a tier with a win this weekend.

I love that we don’t have any double-digit point spreads this week. We had many in the last few divisional game rounds in recent years.

Can the Jaguars continue their run with a win against the Chiefs?

2022-23 NFL Week 18 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 9-6 against the spread last week.

Last week’s slate of games ended with such a horrible situation. Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest after he tackled Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. It was the scariest football injury situation that I’ve witnessed since Dennis Byrd or Mike Utley went down with neck injuries in the 90’s. We wish Hamlin a speedy recovery.

This week’s betting picks is lean heavily on different playoff scenarios. There are only a few playoff spots left, but a handful of teams could leapfrog each other if certain things happen.

2022 NFL Week 15 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-6 against the spread last week.

Once again, I finished the week near-.500. It’s almost automatic at this point, but I hope that a full slate of games will end this streak of parity.

We only have one double-digit point spread this week. We usually have three of four double-digit betting lines this time of year. We will see way more in the coming weeks, so enjoy this week.

The Cardinals vs Broncos game might be the worst game of the year. I feel sorry for people in those regions.

2022 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 14

We have a whopping six teams out on bye this week.

The Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints and the Washington Commanders are out on bye. There are some fantasy beasts on those teams, so you could have some big shoes to fill with a streaming option.

This is the final week with byes this year. You should have a nice streamlined lineup after this week. I’m still a fan of streaming a flex and DEF/ST spots the rest of the year.

2022 NFL Week 13 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 9-7 against the spread last week.

Another week, another near-.500 week for ole’ Sweetbob. I need to snap this streak and hopefully it will happen this weekend.

It was nice to not have a load of games on Thursday again. I really had to slam through all of my weekly content on Tuesday. I like to take my time on the picks, but it couldn’t happen during a Thanksgiving week.

I had a late start to this week’s content as I went to an All Elite Wrestling signing on Tuesday in Indianapolis. It was cool to meet my very nice, very evil hero Danhausen.

2022 NFL Week 12 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-6-1 against the spread last week.

I need a big week after back-to-back 7-6-1 weeks. I’ve traditionally been very strong on Thanksgiving, but we will see. One of these years I’ll go back and figure out my Thanksgiving record. I’m writing this up late-Wednesday night, so there isn’t time to do that this year.

We are starting to see more double-digit point spreads, which happens more and more from late-November through the end of the season.

Can the Chiefs cover a 15-point spread over the Rams?

2022 NFL Week 11 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-6-1 against the spread last week.

It was a nice rebound after the previous week’s implosion. It wasn’t a fantastic outcome, but I was glad to come out (slightly) ahead again.

We don’t have an early European game this week, but we will see a Monday night game in Mexico. I can deal with that much better than the usual garbage we see in those games overseas.

The Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Jacksonville Jaguars are out on bye this week. Who should you stream to replace quaterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Geno Smith?

Injuries are hurting a few fantasy starters right now. Bill QB Josh Allen is dealing with an elbow injury and Raiders QB Derek Carr is missing a few of his favorite targets.

We are only a couple games away from Browns QB Deshaun Watson making his Browns debut. Is it time to add him to your bench?

2022 NFL Week 9 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 10-5 against the spread last week.

I had a shot at an eleven-win week again, but the Bengals failed to show up against the Browns.

After this week, I feel like we will have a better idea which teams are contenders and which teams just benefited from an easier early season schedule. The Bills/Jets and Titans/Chiefs games are two examples of those contests.

There are three double-digit point spreads this week. Will any of them cover?

Can the Packers turn their season around with a cover in Detroit?

2022 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 8

There are only two teams out on bye this week, but one of those teams is loaded with fantasy starters.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers are off this week. It’s a nice change of pace after last week’s stacked bye week slate.

You could still be in trouble if you have guys like TE Travis Kelce or QB Patrick Mahomes, but you should be in the market for a few less streaming players this week.

Can Daniel Jones continue his nice streak of solid fantasy numbers?
