Super Bowl 58 – Betting Picks Against Spread & Prop Bets

Super Bowl 58 is this Sunday and it’s a prop bets smorgasbord.

I LOVE prop bets. I actually get more joy out of betting Super Bowl prop bets than betting against the spread. Yes, most are a crap shoot, but with the right research, you can end up winning bets with very favorable odds.

I’m not saying you can research who will win the coin toss, but there are many other player and team prop bets out there that have nice odds.

Some prop bets aren’t worth the money (the juice isn’t worth the slight risk), but sometimes you just have to lay a few bucks down, cross your fingers and wish for the best.

I picked out some of the most popular prop bets for Super Bowl 58 (or Super Bowl LVIII for Roman numeral fans)…and we also pick the game against the spread.

2016 Maxim Hot 100 List

Maxim released its annual “Hot 100” list for 2016. This year’s list is quite different from previous years’ lists.

The 2016 Maxim Hot 100 does have a few familiar faces on it, but the list is mostly filled with runway models instead of young Hollywood starlets. I’m guessing it is because a pivot the magazine made over a year ago to make Maxim less of a guy’s magazine and more appealing to both men and women.

I admit that I’ve never heard of many women on this year’s list, but I’m not exactly familiar with the world of high fashion. But don’t worry, Sports Illustrated swimsuit models and Victoria’s Secret Angels are littered all over the Hot 100.

2015 Maxim Hot 100 List

Maxim released its annual “Hot 100” list for 2015. It’s filled with the usual suspects (Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, etc), but they always add a few up & coming starlets.

I’m quite late posting about Maxim’s Hot 100 list this year. I usually write up a post soon after the list is released. I comment on which women are too high on the list and note a few that were glaring omissions.

This year’s list is pretty solid, even though I’m not a huge fan of Taylor Swift (I hope her squad doesn’t read the site). I like many of the newcomers and as usual, the list is filled with Victoria’s Secret models.

Dear Taylor Swift, Spotify Doesn’t Need You

Taylor Swift recently made news when she pulled her new music from the popular streaming service Spotify. She wasn’t the first artist to take a stand and pull their material. The Black Keys pulled their “El Camino” album back in 2011, but it was only off the service for the first few months of its release. They clearly wanted strong sales and not many other artists have pulled material since.

Swift sold 1.2 million copies of “1989” in its first week. It is the first album this year to have eclipsed one million in sales…for the year!

There isn’t another artist that could have done this and survived. One could argue that she would have sold just as many or slightly less if she kept her music on Spotify. It could have went bad in a hurry, but she’s Taylor Swift and can do no wrong.

Cover Song Month: Jimmy Eat World – “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”

There are a million covers of Taylor Swift songs on the internet, but Jimmy Eat World’s cover tops them all.

I’ve been a fan of Jimmy Eat World since the late 90’s and their cover of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” sounds like it could have been on their “Clarity” album.

2013 Maxim Hot 100 List

Maxim recently released its annual “Hot 100” list for 2013. It’s usually filled with the usual suspects (Scarlett Johansson, Megan Fox, etc), but they have been known to add in a few up & coming starlets.

Maxim decided to play around with the list this year. They included an attorney general, a fictional girlfriend, and a drunk co-host of a popular morning show. I know that this list isn’t exactly the BCS standings, but I found it very weird.

See who made the list this year and who didn’t. A few ladies from Mad Men didn’t make the cut and a certain lady who’s currently shacking up with Kanye West. I can’t believe that a publication put out a list with 100 females and didn’t include one Kardashian. I finally have hope in humanity! Continue reading →

Maxim released its annual “Hot 100” list this afternoon. If it usually filled with the usual suspects (Scarlett Johansson, Megan Fox, etc), but they have been known to add in a few up & coming starlets.

Maxim decided to play around with the list this year. They included a man, a cartoon female, and even an accused murderer. I know that this list isn’t exactly the BCS standings, but I found very weird.
