2019 NFL Wild Card Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished the year 133-111-12 against the spread during the NFL regular season.

Since there aren’t many games in the playoffs, I also pick over/under point totals as well.

These four games are pretty close, so we aren’t seeing any double-digit point spreads like we’ve seen the last few Wild Card Weekends.

Can the Eagles pull off the upset and make another improbable Super Bowl run?

We pick every NFL Wild Card Weekend game against the spread.

UFC Should End ‘Champion vs Champion’ Fights

The UFC is in dire need of marquee fights. They’ve stooped to the level of putting champions from different weight classes in fights, which can lead to a fighter carrying two different titles at the same time. This reduces the amount of title fights they can put together to headline shows. The whole deal is counter-productive in the long-term.

This all started when Conor McGregor faced Jose Aldo on UFC 194 in late-2015. McGregor won that fight and held both the Featherweight and Lightweight titles at the same time. Conor held onto both of those titles for some time, which muddied up both divisions for over a year. UFC President (and current matchmaker) Dana White had to make fights for interim titles at those weights.

2018 NFL Week 17 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 10-6 against the spread last week.

Week 17 hasn’t been very eventful the last couple of years. There wasn’t even worth a flex last year and there wasn’t a game on Sunday Night Football.

The Colts/Titans game was flexed to Sunday night this year. The winner of that game will earn a playoff spot. If the Texans lose to the Jaguars, the Colts or Titans could win the AFC South with a win.

There are currently only two teams that are locked into their spots in the playoffs (Saints & Cowboys). Every other spot is up for grabs, so this week will be worth your time.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 17 of the 2018 NFL season.

2018 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 17

Week 17 can be a crap shoot. Teams rest some of their stars and there’s always one ‘out of nowhere’ performance by a backup that can sway a championship game.

Many leagues had their championship in Week 16, but needing a strong showing Week 17 just makes a league more interesting. A team can make a huge comeback from a poor score in the first week of the championship.

Should you automatically bench a guy whose team has nothing left to play for?

Did you make it to your championship game or are you just battling for a bronze medal this week?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 17 of the 2018 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

2018 NFL Week 16 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 9-7 against the spread last week.

Week 16 usually has a ton of stinkers on the schedule, but there are some interesting games being played this weekend…and thankfully there isn’t a Thursday game on the schedule.

This week isn’t completely void of potential blowouts as there are a handful of double-digit point spreads…which are pretty darn difficult to cover in the National Football League.

The Ravens, Titans and Colts are battling for the final Wild Card spot in the AFC. Will any of these teams choke this weekend?

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 16 of the 2018 NFL season.

2018 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 16

Welcome to Championship Week(s).

Based on how your league is structured, this could be your lone Championship game or first of two weeks. I’m a fan of not including Week 17 in your fantasy league, but it does make things interesting with stars resting before the Playoffs.

Did you make it to your championship game or are you just battling for a bronze medal this week?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 16 of the 2018 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys.

2018 NFL Week 15 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 8-8 against the spread last week.

I may have went .500 last week, but I did personally benefit from Raiders and Dolphins moneyline bets. I didn’t bet a ton on those underdog moneylines, but it put me in the black for the weekend.

It’s time to start figuring out if a team still has anything left to play for this season. All the potential playoff teams haven’t clinched a specific seed yet, so there aren’t any that are resting their guys (but it could happen next week).

Also, teams like the Raiders, who will not benefit from a win, are still playing hard (see: last week’s win). Don’t automatically go against a team that you feel is tanking. There are 53 guys on that team still playing for another paycheck next season.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 15 of the 2018 NFL season.

2018 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 15

We are in playoff mode.

I took a week off of writing about fantasy football due to, um, life. I was just so darn busy and had to make a couple long trips during the week. I had no time to sit down and pump out my fantasy suggestions or go in-depth with my NFL betting picks.

I made the postseason in all but one of my leagues this season (I stashed Le’Veon Bell in that failed league). I wish everyone luck as you (hopefully) move into the championship game next week.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 15 of the 2018 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts.

Harold Baines Just Ruined the Baseball Hall of Fame

The Baseball Hall of Fame Today’s Era Committee announced they voted Relief Pitcher Lee Smith and Outfielder/DH Harold Baines into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Smith was slowly gaining votes, but only received 34% of the votes in his fifteenth and final year on the ballot.

Baines was only on the regular Hall of Fame ballot just a few seasons as he fell under the 5% threshold on his fourth year and only had a max 6.1% of voters in 2010.

I can understand Lee Smith’s legitimacy as a Hall of Fame candidate. He was a reliever that often pitched multiples innings to get saves. The Hall of Fame was late to the game when it came to voting in relievers. He was a member of some good teams and he was a large part in maintaining those wins. He held the title of Most Career Saves for thirteen years, until Trevor Hoffman surpassed him in 2006. Continue reading
