2018 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 15

We are in playoff mode.

I took a week off of writing about fantasy football due to, um, life. I was just so darn busy and had to make a couple long trips during the week. I had no time to sit down and pump out my fantasy suggestions or go in-depth with my NFL betting picks.

I made the postseason in all but one of my leagues this season (I stashed Le’Veon Bell in that failed league). I wish everyone luck as you (hopefully) move into the championship game next week.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 15 of the 2018 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

START’EM

  • QB Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks) – Wilson faces the Niners for the second time this season. He may not have performed well last week, but look for him to rebound and have a good fantasy week against their division rivals.
  • WR D.J. Moore (Carolina Panthers) – Moore is coming into his own as a receiver. He is upping his production and is becoming a playmaker in the Panthers offense. He faces the Saints, who has given up a lot of touchdowns to wideouts this season.
  • RB Phillip Lindsay (Denver Broncos) – Lindsay has been one of the most prolific rookie running backs this season. He went from a ‘deep league rostered player’ to start the season to a ‘must-start’ in standard leagues. He faces a tough Browns defense, but they’ve been weak against the run this season.
  • QB Jared Goff (Los Angeles Rams) – Goff really shit the bed against the Chicago Bears last week. Chicago played out of their minds and forced four interceptions. He will rebound this week against a below average Eagles defense.
  • Baltimore Ravens Defense & Special Teams – The Ravens defense has been underrated this season. They’ve had to bail out their offense quite a bit this season, but may not need to do a ton against the Bucs. The Bucs defense is weak and their offense is turnover-prone. The Ravens should be a good fantasy defense this week.
  • RB Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans)Henry put on a show last week and he has a good match-up this week. The Giants aren’t great against the run and the big running back could have another good fantasy week.
  • WR Julian Edelman (New England Patriots) – Edelman finally putting up the numbers we have expected from him all year. He faces the Steelers this week and Pittsburgh has been eaten up by slot receivers all season. He should have a great fantasy week.
  • TE Cameron Brate (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – Tampa Bay may struggle against Baltimore this week, but they sure have a big red zone target in Brate. They used him last week with two touchdowns. They will look for him against when they get in the red zone this week.
  • TE Jared Cook (Oakland Raiders) – Raiders head coach Jon Gruden must have remembered that Cook was on his team. He is coming off back-to-back 100+ receiving yard games and has a good match-up this week (Cincinnati). He should put up another good fantasy output.
  • Houston Texans Defense & Special Teams – The Texans face the Jets, who have been turnover prone this season. Rookie QB Sam Darnold is among the league leaders in interceptions and times sacked. The Texans should pad their stats this week.
  • WR Zay Jones (Buffalo Bills) – Jones is leading the team in targets and the Lions secondary is very beatable. He could surprise some and put together a solid fantasy week.
  • RB Nick Chubb (Cleveland Browns) – The kid is on fire for the Browns. He is getting first downs when the Browns need them and is doing his job in the red zone. The Broncos have a tough front-seven, but he should do just fine.
  • TE Vernon Davis (Washington Redskins) – It looks like Jordan Reed will miss the rest of the season due to a toe injury. Davis performed very well last year when Reed was injured. The Redskins have a lot of questions at quarterback, but Davis should still get a handful of targets.

SIT’EM

  • WR Calvin Ridley (Atlanta Falcons) – The Cardinals defense is very underrated, especially against slot receivers. Ridley isn’t your prototypical slot receiver, but he doesn’t lineup on the outside. I don’t see Ridley getting too many targets this weekend.
  • RB Kenyan Drake (Miami Dolphins) – Drake is coming off his most memorable performance of his career by scoring the Miami Miracle touchdown to upset the Patriots last week. He faces a tough Vikings run defense this week…and he production should stall.
  • QB Matthew Stafford (Detroit Lions) – I’ve listed Stafford here a lot this season. If you’re still starting him, I really don’t know what to say. I usually recommend quarterbacks against the Bills, but I have no faith in Stafford right now…and I don’t think he has much faith in himself.
  • RB Marlon Mack (Indianapolis Colts) – Mack hasn’t performed well since coming back from a concussion. He doesn’t have a good match-up this week against a good Cowboys run defense. The only production Mack will have is from receptions out of the backfield.
  • WR Alshon Jeffery (Philadelphia Eagles) – Jeffery will be shadowed by Rams CB Aqib Talib this week. I don’t like his chances against the talented corner.
  • RB Jordan Howard (Chicago Bears) – Howard is still a very good player, but his skills are starting to not best suit the Bears offense. He doesn’t have good hands and the offense is very pass-oriented. RB Tarik Cohen is in for passing downs, which is making up more and more of the downs every week.
  • TE Jimmy Graham (Green Bay Packers) – Packers QB Aaron Rodgers isn’t looking for Graham these days. His fantasy output is consistently bad. The Bears held Graham to almost no fantasy production in their last meeting.
  • Los Angeles Chargers Defense & Special Teams – I know I’m not going out on a limb by suggesting you’d sit a fantasy defense against the Chiefs, but you really should sit the Chargers. I’m all about them any other week, but I’d go with someone else this week.
  • QB Eli Manning (New York Giants) – Manning has been pretty darn good lately, but the Titans have a very good pass defense. They have only allowed a total of 17 passing touchdowns all season.
  • WR Demaryius Thomas (Houston Texans) – Thomas isn’t a huge part of the Texans offense. He has had his moments, but isn’t a receiver you can count on every week.
