2019 NFL Week 4 – Betting Picks Against Spread

jacoby brissett dotted 2019I finished 10-6 against the spread with my picks last week.

I’m really liking some of the nail biting fourth quarters this season. There have been so many point spreads covered late in games. It just didn’t happen much last year.

There were two 20+ point spreads last week (only one covered), but there aren’t any near that level this week. The Dolphins are huge underdogs (again), but they are only sixteen-point underdogs against the Chargers this week.

Can rookie quarterbacks Kyler Murray and Gardner Minshew lead upsets this weekend?

Was Daniel Jones just a one-week wonder?

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 4 of the 2019 NFL season.

2019 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 4

daniel jones dottedThe usual top fantasy quarterbacks aren’t having the best years. Most have been bitten by the injury bug or overall ineptitude. Backups have risen to the challenge and we have guys like Giants QB Daniel Jones and Panthers QB Kyle Allen killing it in fantasy last week.

Bye weeks start in Week 4, but luckily the two teams on bye aren’t stacked with fantasy studs. The San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets are the two teams sitting this week out.

Which young backup quarterback will have the best fantasy output this weekend: Kyle Allen, Daniel Jones or Gardner Minshew?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 4 of the 2019 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Daniel Jones of the New York Giants.

The Best Potential Quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft Class

Justin-Herbert-2020-NFL-Draft-Quarterback-ClassMost scouts thought the 2019 NFL Draft lacked the quarterback depth of the previous year’s draft. QB Kyler Murray should be a good quarterback, but there were huge question marks with the other first-round quarterbacks selected.

The 2020 NFL Draft should be stacked with quarterback talent. There are a few underclassmen that could hold out for another year, but there will be enough QBs in this coming year’s draft to fulfill the never-ending need for youth at that position in the NFL.

We will list ten of the best quarterbacks who can potentially be in the 2020 NFL Draft class and a few honorable mentions that could be diamonds in the rough. We are only a few weeks into the college football season, so a lot can change until the draft in May, but this is a nice primer to help you get to know this year’s quarterback class.

2019 NFL Week 3 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Saquon Barkley dottedI finished 8-8 against the spread with my picks last week.

The slew of quarterback injuries have affected the point spreads quite a bit. On top of that, there’s a huge point spread in every Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots games. There are actually two point spreads this week greater than 21 points. That usually doesn’t happen until like Week 16, at the earliest.

Can the Patriots and Cowboys both cover a massive 21+ point spreads this week?

Can rookie quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Gardner Minshew lead their teams to covers in Week 3?

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 3 of the 2019 NFL season.

2019 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 3

Mason Rudolph dottedThe flu was brutal this year. I made it out the other side and ready to make this week’s fantasy football sit/start picks for Week 3.

Chances are that you may have a different quarterback starting this week than the one you drafted a couple weeks ago. Injuries and overall inefficiency has turned the position into one of the most added/dropped in all leagues.

Are you in the market for a new starting quarterback? Should you go with Mason Rudolph, Daniel Jones or Gardner Minshew in Week 3?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 3 of the 2019 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Mason Rudolph of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

2019 NFL Week 2 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Lamar Jackson dotted funnyThe first week of the 2019 NFL regular season is in the book. I finished 8-8 against the spread with my picks. I wasn’t burned too much by late-game comebacks as much as most as my picks mostly benefited from the late-game heroics last week.

A few young players had breakout games last week. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson had a perfect passer rating and shut up critics that he can only scramble. Can he continue the same success against the Cardinals this week?

Can the Patriots cover a massive -18.5 point spread against the brutal Dolphins?

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL season.

2019 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 2

Gardner Minshew dotted final fantasyI am battling one hell of a flu bug this week. I actually started this post on Tuesday and had to quit due to everything spinning.

Now that I am feeling a little better, I’ve still only eaten saltine crackers since Monday, let’s crank out some fantasy football and betting posts!

I had a few studs and duds with my picks last week. I’m feeling better now that I’ve seen what roles from of the new players played for their teams in Week 1.

Can Gardner Minshew become a stud for the Jaguars?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 2 of the 2019 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Gardner Minshew of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

2019 NFL Week 1 – Betting Picks Against Spread

The first week of the 2019 NFL regular season is here!

I finished last season over .500 with my NFL picks against the spread. I hope to continue my streak of profitable NFL picks this season.

This year’s rookie class of quarterbacks isn’t as good as last year’s crop. There were so many rookie quarterbacks that saw action early last season, but it appears that Arizona’s QB Kyler Murray will be the lone rookie to start in Week 1.

I love a lot of the favorites this week. I almost feel wrong for making so many ‘chalk’ picks, but I still found a few underdogs picks to sink my teeth into.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season.

2019 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 1

I am really looking forward to fantasy football this year.

It seems like half the league has exciting young quarterbacks. Also, more running backs are becoming assets in the passing game. It makes for a more entertaining fantasy football experience.

A handful of past fantasy studs like Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown find themselves on new teams. Will either guy continue their top-tier fantasy production or will their fantasy stock diminish?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of RB Phillip Lindsay of the Denver Broncos.

6 Most Tragic Career-Ending Injuries in Sports

Every time an athlete laces their shoes, they know that the risk of injury is always right around the corner. There have been many young talents that were never the same after just one ill-timed twist of the knee or pop in their shoulder.

Jay Williams – Williams was a standout point guard at Duke and was the second player taken in the 2002 NBA Draft. He was all set to be the centerpiece in what many assumed could be the start of a new dynasty for the Chicago Bulls. He had an average rookie season, but did show promising signs that he could turn into a star. After his rookie season, Williams wrecked his Yamaha R6 motorcycle into a streetlight. He suffered major injuries including never damage in his leg, fractured pelvis and a completely dislocated knee. It was a single vehicle crash and didn’t need to consult a personal injury lawyer, but the Bulls were able to collect on an insurance policy to cover Williams’ contract. Williams did attempt a basketball comeback in 2006, but he was just a shell of himself. He has stayed in the limelight as a college basketball analyst for ESPN.

Super Bowl 53 – Betting Picks Against Spread & Prop Bets

I LOVE prop bets. I actually get more joy out of betting Super Bowl prop bets than betting against the spread. Yes, most are a crap shoot, but with the right research, you can end up winning bets with very favorable odds.

I’m not saying you can research who will win the coin toss, but there are many other player and team prop bets out there that have nice odds.

Some prop bets aren’t worth the money (the vig isn’t worth the slight risk), but sometimes you just have to lay a few bucks down, cross your fingers and wish for the best.

I picked out some of the most popular (and the most absurd) prop bets for Super Bowl 53 (or Super Bowl LIII for Roman numeral fans)…and we also pick the game against the spread.

2019 NFL Conference Championship Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 3-5 against the spread and with my over/under picks last week. I whiffed against the spread, but made up for it with my over/under picks.

This might be the most evenly-matched Conference Championship slate of games in NFL history. Both games are -3 for the home team, which means that on a neutral field, both games should probably be pick’em. Also, both games are rematches of barn-burning thrillers from this season.

Can the Saints get QB Drew Brees to his second Super Bowl of his career?

Can the Patriots force Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes into making mistakes?

We pick both NFL Conference Championship games against the spread and over/under point totals.
