Fantastic Ways To Exercise While Having Loads Of Fun

When it comes to keeping fit, there are many ways you can think outside of the box, rather than rely on the tried and trusted methods of going to the gym. We have compiled a list of some great activities you can get involved in, giving you a boost to your exercise routine while having loads of fun at the same time.

Take a moment to look at the ideas below.

Go for a hike with your mates

Want to escape from the stresses of your life? Take a hike up a mountain or through an area of natural beauty. There is nothing wrong in going for a good walk alone, but having your mates along will give you people to share the experience with.

Head out on your bike

Whether you take the freedom of the open road or go off road, biking can be an exhilarating experience, especially when going downhill. You will need your cycling essentials to keep you safe on your ride, as well as plenty of water to keep you hydrated. Hammering away at those bike pedals are a great way to get your blood pumping and building up your leg muscles, so if walking is too much for you, take the two-wheeled option.

Rock climbing

There are loads of great indoor climbing walls, but for the ultimate experience, you need to head outdoors and find a place to climb near you. Make like Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 2, but remember that was a Hollywood movie, so you need the right climbing gear. Remember, you can still look like a badass despite wearing a helmet on your head.

Play video games

Do we ever need an excuse to play more video games? Nintendo and Xbox have some great motion control games, allowing you to use your entire body rather than the traditional games pad. From playing soccer to battling zombies, there are some great games that will keep you fit, without ever having to leave the house.

Dancing

We aren’t talking about taking a dance class here, although there is no shame in doing so. Instead, hit the dance floor at your local club and bust a few moves! You will be sweating and burning off those calories in no time, while possibly impressing the ladies with your awesome dance skills.

Play with your kids

If you have a family, you will know how much kids like to play. Get out there and play, whether it’s something sporty or rolling around in the yard with them. You were young once, so you don’t need to let kids have all the fun, and you will suddenly become the coolest dad in the world.

Wield a sword

Okay, so take a moment before you wield an actual sword. What we are talking about here is Larping (live action role playing ), where you can reenact your Game of Thrones fantasy in a safe way. There is bound to be a group near you, so take a look online, and buy yourself an awesome fantasy costume, so you look totally awesome on the battlefield.

Get Your Party Rocking With These Sporty Activities

When you have your buddies round for a party, it can be hard to keep them entertained. After all, while a rocking playlist can be good for an hour, it often takes more than music to ensure everyone has a good time. However, there are some activities which are guaranteed to work every time to get everyone having a laugh. And they are sports related which is perfect if you are all active. Therefore, here are some sporty activities which will get your party rocking.

Enjoy some snooker

There’s nothing better than a few games of snooker if you want to put smiles on your guests faces. After all, they will love watching the showdown to see who wins each time. And they will want to get involved in a match or two. It’s also ideal as several of you can play at once. So you don’t have to wait around until it’s your turn again. It’s always a lot more fun after a couple of beers too. After all, it can make it a lot harder to get the balls in the holes when you are tipsy! You can even buy a snooker table which doubles up as an air hockey board too. After all, this activity is just as fun after you have had enough of playing snooker!

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: July 2017

I have found a lot of good music for this month’s playlist. It expanded to 25 tracks for a second month in a row. Also, a band this month did something that almost never happens, they appear twice on this playlist.

I don’t think having 25 tracks on a playlist every month will become the norm, but it is needed this Summer. I haven’t been able to cut the playlist down to 20 the last two months.

I always keep an ear out for new music. I love discovering new bands/songs, it’s a habit from my days as a music journalist. Even though this is mostly a sports blog, I still add quite a bit of music and pop culture content. Keep sending me tracks via email or Twitter.

Make sure to go over to our Spotify playlist where we add every track each month. There’s something for everyone there.

Top Worldwide Sporting Events for Summer 2017

source: flickr

With the NBA Finals now over, and the soccer season well and truly finished, many sports fans have retreated for the rest of the year, awaiting their favorites to return. This time of the year can seem like a bit of a drag when it comes to major sporting events. But look a little closer and you can soon see that the sporting calendar still has a lot to offer, especially for those who like to put their money where their mouth is.

One of the most popular times of the year for sports enthusiasts is during the Wimbledon tennis tournament in the U.K. from July 3rd -16th. People placing wagers for sports fans are on fire for these matches, as punters try to guess the match outcomes and the tournaments outright. This year’s men’s singles is set to be exceptionally close, with both Roger Federer and Andy Murray close favorites with 2/1 and 3/1, respectively. If you want to take a slight outside wager then Rafael Nadal is a good option.

2016-17 NBA Awards Odds

The regular season may be over, but the NBA has yet to dole out any hardware to the league’s best players.

On June 26th, players will wear their best (or extravagant) suit and anxiously wait if hear their name called.

Russell Wesbrook had a crazy season. He averaged a triple-double for the first time since Oscar Robinson did it decades ago. He should be a shoo-in for the MVP award.

The other awards being handed out on June 26th are Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year and Sixth Man Award.

All four awards are heavily favored, so there aren’t any dark horses I’d recommend.

Turn Your Love For Good Music Into Good Money

They say music feeds the soul, and they’re probably not wrong. Music makes you feel good, and life needs that from time to time. No wonder so many of us love music with a passion. And no wonder so many of us wish we could use that passion to earn a living. Well, maybe you can turn your favorite thing in the world into an income stream. Here are just a few ways you might be able to monetize music to suit you:

Talk About It

If you have something to say about music, then say it. Talking about music in a blog or vlog can eventually lead to a revenue stream. Sure, it takes time, lots of content, and thousands of dedicated followers. But if you stick with it, you could certainly start to earn a little from talking about the one thing you’re passionate about in life. You might review artists, tracks, or live performances. Talk about the music you like and the music you don’t. Continue reading

Manly “Meditations”

Now, this isn’t about sitting cross-legged on the floor and chanting “om” until you see the inner light! Oh no! This is about picking the right hobby that makes you forget about your worries, and that’s really all that meditation is. If you can relax and forget the world by breathing deeply until you feel on another plain, then that’s great, but for a lot of us, being told to sit and think about nothing is not going to work. What about us that are so stressed in life, that being told to sit back and not get stressed isn’t going to work! Whether you’ve got a busy life, or you’re going through a tough time, there are things that many people do to get away from the world for five minutes, and here are a few.

Sports Crush: Maria Kanellis

We’ve written over a dozen ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched AmericasWhiteBoy.com. We have spotlighted a ton of WWE Divas (Becky LynchLanaSasha BanksAlexa Bliss, Emma and others). The response has been fantastic, so we decided to profile another WWE women’s superstar, Maria Kanellis

Kanellis was first hired by the WWE in 2004 as a member of a ‘Diva Search’ contest. She was released in 2010. She went on to appear in Ring of Honor, New Japan and Impact Wrestling with her husband, Mike Bennett.

Well, she is back in the WWE again, but this time with her husband. I have a feeling she’ll end up on ‘Total Divas’ pretty soon.

Kanellis appeared in Playboy Magaine in 2008…but I chose to not post nude pictures on the site (sorry guys).

Check out our picture gallery, and a very special .gif, to see why we are crushing on Maria Kanellis.

2017 NBA Draft – Best Undrafted Players

The NBA Draft is only two rounds and consists of a total of 60 picks, so not every good college basketball player will hear his name called during the NBA Draft.

There are still some very good players left to either sign for an NBA team’s Summer League spot in hopes of catching on with a team. Most will probably end up in the Gatorade League (former D-League) or play overseas.

I’m sure people who love ‘their team’ always wonder why the star of their team didn’t even play a single minute in the NBA.

The Draft is a tricky thing. There are only two rounds, so a lot of teams teams draft for need. There are also teams who draft people overseas to stash for a couple years.

This is not the end of the road for these players. There are many undrafted players in the NBA, so a few of these guys will still make their dreams come true in the future.

5 Sports That Are Perfect For Trying This Summer

Summer months give us some of the best conditions to be outside and enjoy some fresh air. What’s more, it is easier to get out and about and get your heart pumping with some outdoor sports when the weather is warm and dry. And with school being out for weeks on end in summer, there tends to be a lot of sports programs that are available to try. So if you’re looking to try something new over the next few weeks, then here are some sports that will be perfect to try.

Kayaking

Combining being outdoors with water is one of the best things about summer. And one sport that you might never have tried before is kayaking. You don’t have to have a lake nearby either; there are plenty of opportunities in other locations. Some lessons might even just start in a large swimming pool. It is a great upper body workout, as well as working your cardio.

Which Team Will Land Paul George?

As a fan of the Indiana Pacers, I knew this day was coming, but I wasn’t ready.

Paul George made it official, he wants out of Indianapolis. He wants to head back home to Southern California and play for the Los Angeles Lakers. Pacers new general manager Kevin Pritchard has a huge issue on his mind. Do they let him play next season, hope he makes the All-NBA team, so they could offer him much more money than any other team, or do they trade him now for some picks and/or another established star?

In 2010, Pritchard lost his job in Portland for a few dumb moves (and drafting Greg Oden over Kevin Durant). I’m sure he assumed a day when he needs to figure out the George problem would come, but probably didn’t think the news of George wanting out of town would leak before the 2017 NBA Draft.
