Regardless of the time of year, there is always someone who needs a gift. Well, they don’t need it, but custom dictates they get one anyway! So, it might not be Christmas, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t on the lookout for the perfect present. Finding a great gift is never easy, but it is a lot more straightforward if the person is a sports-lover. There are numerous ideas which any enthusiast will love, and you can heighten the gift by going big. What’s that? The person in your life is a lover of all things sport? Great news, because below is a handful of big gift ideas which will hit the spot. Seriously, a true sporting fan won’t be able to hide their excitement with the following.

A Ticket To NASCAR

Just because they like sports doesn’t mean they want to don a helmet and hit the field. The majority of fans nowadays are armchair supporters. If you don’t understand the term, congrats; you’re a true fan. Normally, fans prefer to sit down and watch an event rather than take part personally. Still, while sitting in their favorite armchair with a beer and nachos is a good way to spend a Sunday, it is nothing like being at the venue. When they are in the stands, they will be able to hear and feel the roar of the engines as the cars fly past. Anyway, every NASCAR venue has beer and food available, so it’s the best of both worlds. At the moment, the cars are on a hiatus until Bojangles’ Southern 500 on September 3rd.

Review: WWE SummerSlam 2017

After last night’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, the WWE main roster had to put on a PPV to follow up that amazing show. I wouldn’t say they failed to do so, but the show was too damn long.

If you count the pre-show and the main card, it was SIX HOURS LONG! You could watch two NFL football games, or roughly four football matches (I didn’t want to exclude my International readers). It wasn’t as long as Wrestlemania and thank God.

SummerSlam had five title changes, which could be a record. I know Michael Cole mentioned that this show has the most title matches in one night in the history of WWE. It may or may not be correct since WWE announcers have spewed bullshit records in the past (I’m looking at you Matt Striker).

Prepare Your Body And Mind For Your Next Ironman Competition

Ironman began as a relatively small, niche sport back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was the brainchild of a US Navy Commander called John Collins who decided to add swimming and biking to the regular Honolulu Marathon in Hawaii. Since then, it’s developed into one of the most popular – and most challenging – sports on the planet, with thousands of people competing every year.

Of all the sports on offer, the Ironman triathlon is perhaps the most grueling on the mind and body. Athletes have to swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 and then run a full 26.2-mile marathon. It’s not for the faint-hearted, and something that seasoned Ironman competitors usually only do once or twice a year at most.

Given that it is so grueling, how should budding Ironman competitors prepare?

Review: NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III

NXT Takeover events are almost always the best show of that weekend. WWE main roster will have a hard time beating NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III when they have Summerslam later today.

Every match was competitive and you can tell every guy wanted to steal the show. Even the guys who lost looked like a million bucks. No one got buried, and a surprise debut, made the show fresh. NXT is in a better place than it was after Shinsuke Nakamura and a few others were brought up to the main roster a few months ago.

On paper, there have been better NXT Takeover shows, but this one kept the crowd’s attention the entire night. The crowd didn’t have any chants that made me think they were bored. I’m sure we will hear a few tonight at Summerslam.

It’s Never Too Late To Turn To Sport

Some people are sedentary for the majority of their lives. While being sedentary is the easiest thing to do in the short term, it definitely isn’t the healthiest. Plus, it will 100% cause you more problems in the long term. Failing to get daily exercise and the minimum recommended number of steps a day (5000) can leave you with a weak immune system, heart disease, and many other issues.

If you’ve been sedentary for most of your life, you might think that it’s too late to turn to sport. Well, that’s where you’re wrong. It’s never too late to turn to sport; there are athletes aged 80-95 who are still killing it on the track and field. Even if you’re young but feel you have no ‘natural talent’ – newsflash: hardly anybody has natural talent! Some kids are sent to dance school while they’re young and become incredible dancers. They still have to work for it. Everybody has to work for something they want to be good at. You can’t use ‘natural ability’ as an excuse not to do something. Here are some ideas that could help you turn your life around before you experience difficult health issues:

Toy Crazy: Mattel’s WWE Elite Series 52

I’m a self-confessed vintage toy nerd. I collect vintage wrestling action figures from the 80’s & 90’s. I started purchasing some vintage toys out of nostalgia. Well, WWE and Mattel sucked me into their new stuff. I now buy a few figures a month. You can view photos of my collection on my Instagram account.

The lineup in Elite 52 is pretty good. It updates some current guys and two long-awaited flashbacks from the Attitude Era.

The WWE Superstars included in Elite 52 are Braun Strowman, Ken Shamrock, D’Lo Brown, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Seth Rollins.

Move Over Surfers, the Paddle Board Is Here to Take Over!

One of the most enjoyable water sports to try on holiday is surfing. It’s fun, it’s easy to learn and there are very few accidents that can happen as a result of it. It doesn’t take long to get started and with so many instructors around at these holiday locations, you’re going to feel more than welcome into their surfing communities. However, surfing has one major flaw that people don’t seem to realize: it needs waves.

One of the most disappointing holiday experiences you could have is visiting a country that has a reputation for surfing, only to find out that you came during the wrong season. It’s an honest mistake that a lot of people make, and it’s not like your holiday has suddenly been wasted. But going to Hawaii for surfing and only being able to party and walk around is a bit disappointing.

Exploring The Risks Of Different Sports

We love our sports on this little section of the web, and we’re sure you do too. But that doesn’t change the fact that sports can actually be very dangerous. If you’re not careful, you can get seriously hurt playing certain sports. In fact, you might be surprised by just how dangerous some of your favorite sports actually are. Let’s start by thinking about American Football.

A Nasty Bump On The Head

You might think that American Football is safer than something like Rugby. On the surface, the main difference seems to be that in American Football you are given a lot more padding. Of course, that wasn’t always the case, and when the sport first started, athletes were using leather caps which was why they were popularly referred to as ‘leatherheads.’ Of course, back then there wasn’t an issue with steroid usage in these types of sports, but that’s a discussion for another day. So what is the danger of playing American football.

The Sports You Might Not Have Heard About Before

Are you a keen sports fan? Think you know all there is to know about sports? Take a look at this list of sports you might not have heard about before, and you’ll realize there is a lot more to sports than football and hockey, as fantastic as they are…

Slamball

Like basketball? Enjoy trampolining? You’ll love Slamball – a sport which combines the two. In Slamball, players use strategically placed trampolines to make the act of slam dunking the ball much easier and a lot more fun too. Unlike basketball, Slamball is a full contact sport, where players can often be seen slamming their bodies together in mid-air, which means it’s quite aggressive and broken bones and bruising are not uncommon.
