2017 NFL Week 2 – Betting Picks Against Spread

After missing two games by a half-point this weekend, I went 10-5 against the spread. I can’t be too sore about the half-point misses cause the ball will fall in my corner at some point this season. I still had a good week.

Week 1 had a lot of new faces making an impact. Marshawn Lynch was trucking defensive lineman for Oakland after sitting out last season. Rookies like Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt also stole the show.

There are so many good games this week. Vegas doesn’t even know what to do with a lot of these games. They gave way too many games point spreads in-between 4 and 5.5.

Will we see more blowouts like the Rams 46-9 win over the Colts?

How many of these gaudy double-digit point spreads will cover?

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 2 of the 2017 NFL season.

2017 NFL Draft: First-Round Recap

Mitchell Trubisky Chicago Bears 2017 NFL Draft Roger GoodellThe first round of the 2017 NFL Draft is in the books.

There were a few trades, but very little surprises. I guess the most surprising trend of the night was how much teams were getting to trade down in the draft. The Bears, Chiefs and Texans paid a huge premium to trade up to draft quarterbacks.

We explain our thoughts on each first round pick and compare them to our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.

1. Cleveland BrownsMyles Garrett – DE – Texas A&M Aggies – I’m glad the Browns stuck to the ‘best player available’ for their #1 pick. I’m sure some people were in their ear trying to persuade them to draft a quarterback, but they held their ground. (Mock: DE Myles Garrett)

2017 NFL Divisional Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

Jerry Jones illuminati america's white boy nfl playoffs 2017 picks against the spread gambling sportsYour boy had a rough Wild Card Weekend. I missed a two over/unders by just a few points and really had a rough Sunday. I usually kill it in the postseason, so hopefully it was just an off week.

All four games this weekend are rematches from games early in the season. Don’t get too hung up on the outcomes from those games since all the games took place in September and October. Many impact players like Tom Brady and Dez Bryant didn’t even play in those contests.

Will the first-round bye leave teams rusty or will they come in well-rested?

2016 NFL Week 17 – Betting Picks Against Spread

matt mcgloin Week 17 Oakland Raiders playoffs NFL YODAI finished 9-7 last week and suffered a few bad beats. I want to end the regular season with a strong week, but Week 17 is usually a crap shoot.

I’ve spent the last couple days battling a horrible flu. I did have a chance to study who may sit Week 17. I also explain which teams still have something to play for this Sunday.

A lot of weird stuff happens during the last week of the season. We are almost guaranteed to have some receiver or running back have 200+ yards or some backup quarterback pull a ‘Matt Flynn’ and throw for a ton of yards. Can Raiders backup QB Matt McGloin be this year’s Week 17 surprise?

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 17 of the 2016 NFL season.

2016 NFL Week 16 – Betting Picks Against Spread

americas-white-boy-week-16-nfl-picks-against-the-spread-2016-ezekiel-elliott-salvation-army-gamblingI finished 9-6-1 last week after betting on a lot of covers. It worked in my favor and most of the favorites did well against the spread last week.

Betting games late in the NFL season does pose a few extra things to consider than betting early season games. Not only do you have to factor in weather issues, but a team’s motivation to win could be a huge factor. If a team has nothing left to play for, it could hurt their performance against the spread.

Also, you don’t want to make motivation the ‘end all, be all’ factor. Players on bad teams are still playing for contracts this offseason and roster spots next year. You have to toe a thin line at this point in the season.

2016 NFL Week 8 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Joey-Bosa-Week-8-2016-NFL-betting-picks-against-the-spread-americas-white-boyI went 7-8 last week after whiffing on some road favorites. I definitely underestimated San Diego and Green Bay, but felt solid about the rest of my picks.

There are six teams on a bye week this week and an early game in London. There could be some weak football watching on Sunday if we are stuck with some blow outs.

Fall weather is in full force in the NFL, but I don’t think the weather will interfere in many games. Rain is expected across the Midwest, but I don’t see it affecting any bets.

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 8 of the 2016 NFL season.

2016 NFL Week 6 – Betting Picks Against Spread

andrew-luck-sacked-indianapolis-colts-chicago-bears-americas-white-boy-week-6-picks-against-the-spread-nflI ‘sacked’ Vegas last week and finished with a 12-1-1 record. It was my best finish of the year and hope to carry the momentum forward. I also hit on two nice moneylines last week. I would have had a blemish-free week if it wasn’t for the Eagles.

There are a few weird lines this weekend. Those questionable lines surround average teams being favored by six points or greater. It’s just odd seeing these kinds of odds this early in this year. A few lines appear more like Week 17 lines.

2016 NFL Week 4 – Betting Picks Against Spread

funny-ryan-fitzpatrick-poofy-hair-americas-white-boy-picks-against-the-spread-week-4-nfl-new-york-jets-beardI finished with a 8-8 record on the week after laying some stinker bets on the late games on Sunday.

I think it’s now time to start looking at win/loss records. Make sure you look at the opponents because there are at least one weak 3-0 team out there (Ravens).

I’ve been treading water so far this season. I’ve been hovering around .500 every week, but have fell victim to some bad beats and half-point losses. I still feel like I have a good grasp of these teams right now and I’ll start hitting some big weeks soon.

2016 NFL Week 3 – Betting Picks Against Spread

jay-cutler-catI started off great last week, but the late games destroyed me. I finished with a 7-8-1 record on the week. I really like this week’s lines, so I hope for a better week.

I think you must take records with a grain of salt right now. There are a lot of quality 0-2 teams that play winnable games this week. Also, there are a couple 2-0 teams that have kind of lucked into an undefeated record. Records will start coming into play more after the first four games.

Week 3 is always a litmus test for many teams, especially if you currently sit at 1-1 or even 0-2. You don’t want to fall below .500 or end up winless after three games.

We pick every NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 3 of the 2016 NFL season.

2016 NFL Week 1 – Betting Picks Against Spread

funny-2016-americas-white-boy-picks-sgainst-spread-nfl-gambling-kitty-cat-photoI can’t believe the wait is almost over! NFL season begins on Thursday and I will be glued to the couch all weekend watching football games. It will be glorious.

I’ve went 414-311-28 combined in the past three years picking NFL games against the spread. I’ve been posting my picks for the last six or sevenyears, but really only kept a running total in recent years.

Week 1 is a tricky betting week. You can watch all the preseason football games you want and never get a feel for what the team will look like in their first regular season game.

2016 Fantasy Football Rankings – Top 50 Tight Ends

Rob Gronkowski 2016 top 50 tight ends fantasy football rankings nfl funny catsA tight end can be a quarterback’s best friend. They aren’t usually very high in their progressions, but can easily become a crutch when a quarterback is pressured…especially if you have a running back with bricks for hands.

I look at tight ends like a power forwards in basketball. They are large men who often have some sort of athleticism or size advantage. In a perfect situation, like Rob Gronkowski in New England, he has an advantage on every play.

More teams are using athletic, pass-catching tight ends in an attempt to duplicate New England’s success…which is great for fantasy football players.

We rank the top 50 tight ends for the 2016 fantasy football season. It’s a bit overkill, but just in case you’re in a two-tight end leagues.

2016 NFL Divisional Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

vontaze-burfict-ben-roethlisberger-nfl-afc-wild-card-pittsburgh-steelers-cincinnati-bengals-1-850x560I went 6-2 with my NFL picks against the spread and over/under picks last weekend. I went 3-1 against the spread and 3-1 with my over/under picks. I believe I should have been 4-0 ATS, but Big Ben was nearly murdered by Vontaze Burfict…but you can’t predict injuries, so it is was it is.

Three of the four playoff games are being played outdoors this weekend, so check weather reports before kickoff. Denver, Charlotte and Foxborough are all supposed to be clear skies and relatively pleasant this weekend.

The road teams won all four playoff games last weekend. Will the trend continue?

We pick every NFL Divisional Playoff game against the spread.
