Sports Crush: Sydney Leroux

We’ve written a handful of ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched Americas White Boy a few years ago. We’ve spotlighted sportscasters, female MMA fighters, WWE Divas, and my favorite U.S. Women’s soccer player, Alex Morgan. We decided to profile another player on the team, the lovely Sydney Leroux.

Leroux currently plays for the Seattle Reign in the National Women’s Soccer League and is a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team. She will be playing in the 2015 World Cup in Canada.

Hope Solo and Alex Morgan gets most of the love, but that will change during the World Cup. Leroux is a stunner who, in the past, was romantically-linked to San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick (I hope that rumor isn’t true).

The 10 Best Summer Beers

There’s nothing better than drinking a cold beer in the sun on a hot Summer day.

It’s getting warmer and breweries are releasing their Summer seasonal beers. I’m a connoisseur of Summer beers, since I tend to ramp up my drinking this time of year. Don’t get me wrong, I love an IPAs, but I have a special place in my heart for Summer wheats.

Since the craft beer industry exploded a few years ago, nearly every brewery releases some sort of Summer seasonal (even Coors, Budweiser and Miller followed suit…but they didn’t make the list).

Sports Crush: WWE Diva – Lana

We’ve written a handful of ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched Americas White Boy a few years ago. We’ve spotlighted sportscasters, female MMA fighters, Olympians and WWE Divas Summer Rae, A.J. Lee, Paige & The Bella Twins. The response was so great, we decided to profile one of the newest WWE Divas, Lana.

Many people may recognize Lana from her previous work. Her real name is C.J. Perry (Catherine Joy Perry). She was in the movie ‘Pitch Perfect’ and was one of the infamous Florida State Cowgirls with Jenn Sterger.

She has only been under contract with the WWE for less than a year. She was signed after they had tryouts for female talent. Since she’s so new, you will not see her in the ring, but she landed a cushy job as the valet for the Bulgarian Brute, Alexander Rusev.

We are crushing on the ‘Ravishing Russian’ Lana and once you look at our photo gallery of the WWE Diva, you will understand why. We also added a very nice .gif for your enjoyment.

Toy Crazy: The Definitive WWF LJN Checklist

I know we all had toys as a kid that either got destroyed or sold by your parents at a yard sale. Well, a lot of those toys now go for big money on eBay. In particular, the WWF LJN line of toys from the 80’s.

The WWF LJN line had figures of recognizable fame (Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, Bret Hart, Macho Man, etc). They made standard 8-inch figures, Bendies, 16-inch figures, thumb wrestlers & even Stretch Armstrong-like toys.

Many collectors like collecting LJNs because there are many variants in the line. Many aren’t widely-considered variants, but just slight production errors. Once LJN went out of business in 1989, Canadian toy company Grand Toys took over production for the last series.

I contacted a few hardcore WWF LJN collectors and spoke to them about variants and decided to make a definitive list for those collecting action figures and the posters that accompany the standard figures (yes, there are even poster variants).

Sports Crush: The Bella Twins

We’ve written a handful of ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched AmericasWhiteBoy.com a few years ago. We’ve spotlighted sportscasters, female MMA fighters, Olympians and WWE Divas Summer Rae, A.J. Lee & Paige. The response was so great, we decided to double the pleasure by featuring The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella & Brie Bella).

The Bella Twins have been in the WWE for a few years, with a brief hiatus in 2012. Those who don’t watch WWE, but love reality television, you will recognize them from E!’s “Total Divas” reality show.

You have seen a lot of them lately, because they are beautiful AND it helps that they are dating the two most popular WWE superstars, John Cena & Daniel Bryan.

Dead Wrestlers List: When and How They Died

I cannot remember a time when I didn’t watch pro wrestling. My dad and grandfather used to watch it all the time and I was enamored by the wrestlers on the TV screen.

As many people my age, I grew up in the age of Hulkamania. I always wanted him to win, but that character got old. I found myself liking “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Andre the Giant and Junk Yard Dog. I think that is when I legitimately fell in love with wrestling and not just the festival around Hulk Hogan.

The life of a professional wrestler is difficult. The road isn’t kind and bad habits can take over one’s life.

As the years went by, I’ve started seeing all my favorite WWE, WWF, WCW & ECW wrestlers die off at an alarming rate. I often wondered how they died. I made this list for those who are fans of wrestling and are interested in how their favorite wrestler passed away. Continue reading →

Sports Crush: WWE Diva – Paige

We’ve written a handful of ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched AmericasWhiteBoy.com a few years ago. We’ve spotlighted sportscasters, female MMA fighters, Olympians and WWE Divas Summer Rae & A.J. Lee. The response was so great, we decided to profile another WWE Diva, current WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Paige.

Paige (her real name Saraya-Jade Bevis) has been wrestling since she was 13. She comes from a wrestling family. Her parents (Saraya and Ricky Knight) were both wrestlers in England. Her brother Zak Knight is currently wrestling for his father’s wrestling promotion ‘World Association of Wrestling’.

She was known as Britani Knight before she came into the WWE in 2011. She is only 21 years old and her future is bright. She should be on the main WWE roster at some point this year.

The 20 Best Punk Rock Songs of All-Time

I’ve been a fan of punk music since my teenage years. I would buy all of Epitaph’s “Punk-O-Rama” mixtapes and would listen to just about anything considered punk. I was more interested in the bands at the time (Rancid, NOFX, Millencolin, etc), but I ventured deeper into the history of punk music.

Punk music has went from counterculture to a genre the recording industry machine uses to sell the ‘punk culture’ to teenagers. Joey Ramone would not have approved of this.

We list the best 20 punk rock songs of all-time by 20 different bands…we also post YouTube videos of every song on the list. This list is just as good as slots online win real money, guys…so enjoy!

2013-14 College Basketball – All-Name Team

I’m a little late this year with my college basketball ‘All-Name Team’, but it’s been a busy football season.

We have many new entries this season, but I’m sad many of the great names like Chief Kickingstallionsims have graduated.

We picked through every Division-I college basketball roster and a few smaller schools for our list. This year’s class isn’t as solid as in years past. We are in a rebuilding year in hopes that next year’s class will be filled with gold.

My name is Bobby Roberts, so I am often jealous of people with unique names. The most unique thing about my name is that I was not born ‘Robert Roberts’, Bobby is my given name. I don’t know too many grown men named Bobby.

This list consists of names that we wished he had and ones we find humorous.

‘BASEketball’ Cast: Then & Now

I really hate admitting this, but BASEketball is one of my favorite movies. I saw it with friends in the theater and I still find myself not turning the channel when it comes on HBO (it’s on as I’m writing this).

The movie only made $7 million at the box office, but has gained a cult following since its release on DVD.

The stars of the flim, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are the creators of South Park. The duo went on to produce the puppet-oriented movie Team America: World Police and even the popular Broadway play The Book of Mormon. BASEketball is the only project they starred in that they didn’t write or produce.

It’s now 2013 and many of the stars went on to do interesting things and some, not so much.

Sports Crush: WWE Diva – Summer Rae

We’ve written a handful of ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched AmericasWhiteBoy.com a few years ago. We’ve spotlighted sportscasters, MMA fighters, and Olympians and WWE Diva A.J. Lee. The response was so great, we decided to profile another WWE Diva, Summer Rae.

Summer Rae (her real name Danielle Moinet) started out as a player in the Lingerie Football League. She became the face of the league while she played for the Chicago Bliss. She quit playing in 2011 to focus on professional wrestling.

Summer Rae is the currently the valet/dance partner for WWE Superstar Fandango. The WWE was missing a blonde diva since Kelly Kelly left the company in 2012. She has been in WWE NXT development territory since 2011.

Sports Crush: A.J. Lee

We’ve written a handful of ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched AmericasWhiteBoy.com a few years ago. We’ve spotlighted sportscasters, MMA fighters, and Olympians, but there hasn’t been a post about a professional wrestler…until today.

I’ve watched wrestling religiously every week as long as I can remember. I still make sure I keep my schedule open on Monday night’s to watch WWE’s ‘RAW’.

Female professional wrestlers are known as ‘Divas’ in the WWE. There is one specific diva that caught our eye.

A.J. Lee is the current Divas Championship holder and fellow nerd. She reads comic books, likes skulls and other things a punk nerd would enjoy. She’s the darling of all the internet wrestling fans.
