Sports Crush: Kay Adams

Kay Adams is one of the hosts of ‘Good Morning Football” on NFL Network and also a co-host of ‘Fantasy Zone’ on DirecTV, a companion of the NFL Sunday Ticket package.

We were once ‘kind of’ co-workers at one time. She worked at the Fanball office in St. Louis doing video work and I was a freelance writer for them covering the Columbus Blue Jackets and Indiana Pacers on their team pages.

She’s cute as a button and if you have ever seen her on television, you know she’s a fun gal.

We have featured many other sports reporters/anchors in the past like Erin Coscarelli, Jen Hale, Britt McHenry and Jenny Dell.

Sports Crush: Becky Lynch

We’ve written over a dozen ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched AmericasWhiteBoy.com. We have spotlighted a ton of WWE Divas (Paige, Lana, Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss and others). The response has been great, so we decided to profile the WWE Smackdown Women’s champion, Becky Lynch.

Lynch, whose real name is Rebecca Quin, has been wrestling since 2002. She wrestled all around the world before signing with WWE in 2013. She actually took a few years off in the middle of her career after suffering a bad head injury.

Becky Lynch‘s enthusiasm is contagious and she’s a joy to watch in the ring. We’ve added some photos and a .GIF for you to enjoy. You will soon be crushing on her as well.

The 20 Best Emo Songs of All-Time

We’ve all either liked a girl/boy that didn’t like us back or were dumped in a brutal fashion. Emo music is needed during those times. Our grandparents had sad Elvis songs, our parents had The Cure and we had our generation of sappy songs, emo.

I could have easily added bands like The Smiths, The Cure and Joy Division to this list, but I tried to put the focus narrowly to the mid-90’s to mid-00’s range. I feel like that is the time frame in which true nationwide emo music originated and sort of died.

Emo music came into form when the second-wave of punk hit America. It kind of started about the same time. Emo hit the D.C. area in the mid-80’s, but didn’t hit everywhere until Sunny Day Real Estate and Jawbreaker became popular with college kids.

We list the best 20 emo rock songs of all-time by 20 different bands…we also post YouTube videos of every song on the list.

Sports Crush: Paige VanZant

We’ve written a handful of ‘Sports Crush’ posts since we launched ‘America’s White Boy.’ We have spotlighted a few UFC women fighters (Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate). The response has been fantastic, so we decided to profile an up & coming fighter who is currently on fire in the UFC, Paige VanZant.

VanZant is a ranked in the Strawweight division in the UFC. She’s only 21 years old and has a 6-2 MMA record. After winning her first three fights in the UFC, she recently lost to Rose Namajunas on a UFC Fight Night in December.

She’s an extremely marketable commodity in the UFC due to her ability in the octagon and her beauty.

Sports Crush: WWE Diva – Sasha Banks

The response has been fantastic, so we decided to profile an up & coming diva who was recently called up to WWE’s main roster…”The Boss” Sasha Banks.

Banks, whose real name is Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado, has been wrestling since 2010. She was signed by WWE in 2012 and was in WWE’s developmental territory NXT until recently. She won the NXT Women’s Championship during her time there.

2015-16 College Basketball – All-Name Team

We have many new entries this season, but I’m sad great names like McWisdon Badejo and Nimrod Hilliard have graduated. We have plenty of fun names this year.

We picked through every Division-I college basketball roster and a few smaller schools for our list. This year’s class is solid and better than last year’s All-Name Team. We went through a rebuilding year and we are a better team.

My name is Bobby Roberts, so I am often jealous of people with unique names. The most unique thing about my name is that I was not born ‘Robert Roberts’, Bobby is my given name. I don’t know too many grown men named Bobby.

Bliss is an Ohio native that was active in bodybuilding before starting her career in the WWE. She was trained at the WWE Performance Center. She currently valets the tag team of Wesley Blake & Buddy Murphy.

Sports Crush: WWE Diva – Paige (Again!)

The last time we profiled Paige, she was in the WWE’s developmental territory NXT. She has since won the Divas Championship in her RAW debut and has become one of the most popular Divas. She also stars on E!’s ‘Total Divas’ program with The Bella Twins, Eva Marie, Natalya and many others.

Paige (her real name Saraya-Jade Bevis) has been wrestling since she was 13. She comes from a wrestling family. She was known as Britani Knight in the U.K. before she came into the WWE in 2011. She is only 22 years old and her future is bright. She should be a mainstay in the WWE for a long time.

We’ve spotlighted sportscasters, female MMA fighters, Olympians and WWE Divas Paige, Lana & A.J. Lee. The response was so great, we decided to profile another WWE Diva, current WWE superstar Eva Marie.

Eva Marie (her real name Natalie Marie Coyle) signed with the WWE in 2013. She is one of the divas that appear on E!’s ‘Total Divas’. She is horrible in the ring, but that doesn’t stop me from staring at her.

39 Snarky Reasons To Watch Every Bowl Game

There are 39 college football bowl games this season and to be honest, not all of them are worth watching. I do my best (and worst) to try to convince everyone to tune into every bowl game this season. I use cheerleader quality, famous alumni, hot girlfriends and I even quote the movie ‘Tombstone’ to coax you.

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl: Nevada vs Louisiana-Lafayette (December 20th) – The game is played at the Superdome, so if you’re into watching a non-neutral site bowl game in which 90% of the fans are rooting for Louisiana-Lafayette, this is your game. Sorry about your damn luck, Nevada.

Gildan New Mexico Bowl: UTEP vs Utah State (December 20th) – I only know UTEP exists because I bet on college football. If I didn’t, I would only know UTEP because Tim Hardaway played basketball there…so watch a team you (may) have never heard of play football!

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: Top 25 Songs of 2014

I’ve made a Hipster Music Playlist nearly every month this year (I think I missed one). Each playlist has 15 fresh indie songs, so I’ve posted 165 songs this year.

I glazed through my ‘America’s White Boy Hipster Music Playlist‘ on Spotify and picked out the best 25 tracks I’ve posted this year. It took me quite awhile to narrow the list down (the last five were really hard to omit).

I was thinking about doing a ‘best albums of 2014’ list, but I fear it would take forever to whittle down to an easy, round number. There are at least 75 albums that deserve to be mentioned.

This list is all over the place. It has a little something for everyone. Also, if you’re a fan of Nick Offerman, he’s in two videos on this list (FIDLAR & The Decemberists). I would love for him to exclusively be a music video actor once his Ron Swanson role wraps up on NBC’s “Parks & Recreation”

Toy Crazy: Mattel’s WWE Elite Series 33

I’m a self-confessed vintage toy nerd. I collect vintage wrestling action figures from the 80’s & 90’s. I started purchasing some vintage toys out of nostalgia. Well, WWE and Mattel sucked me into their new stuff. I now buy a few figures a month.

WWE Elite Series 30, Elite Series 31 were both home runs (Elite Series 32…not so much). I mostly skipped Elite 32 (only purchased Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio) because I knew Elite 33 would be crazy awesome. They knocked a few of these figures out of the park. The Mattel design team did some great work.

The WWE Superstars included in Elite 33 are X-Pac (Flashback), Junkyard Dog (Flashback), Batista (aka Bluetista), Cesaro, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
