Fantasy Basketball: Week 4 – Top 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

Fantasy basketball just finished its third week of play…and the injury bug has plagued some key fantasy players. This is when researching depth charts can drastically change your team’s production.

Steve Nash, Ersan Ilyasova, Trevor Ariza, Dion Waiters, Chauncey Billups and Michael Carter-Williams are all dealing with injuries. This post focuses on their replacements for the week and a few gems who are earning more playing time.

Most of these players are owned in less than 50% of leagues (and some are owned in less than 25%). You should pick these guys up or at least keep a close eye on them.

I know fantasy basketball isn’t as widely-played as fantasy football and baseball, but it’s a fun game. You have to work the lineups daily like baseball, but need to keep a close eye on how many games a team plays that week.

We look at some of the players who weren’t drafted in most leagues, but are now worth a pickup.

Our list is loaded with guys on bad teams. Yes, a fantasy stud can be on a bad NBA team.

Fantasy Basketball: Top 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

We look at some of the players who weren’t drafted in most leagues, but are now worth a pickup. The names on this list may surprise you. Two awkward white guys who used to be glued to the Indiana Pacers bench and a player who we all assumed was fantasy irrelevant made the list.

Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 4

Fantasy football reared her ugly head last weekend. You had some stars suffering bad fantasy weeks and some bench players coming up big.

The bye weeks begin this week with the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers sitting this week out. Fantasy owners will need to replace Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Reggie Cobb, Steve Smith, Jordy Nelson and James Jones in their lineups.

Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 3

Week 2 was a bounce back week for many stars who disappointed in the first week of the season. You had players like James Jones, Pierre Garcon and Calvin Johnson all had big fantasy weeks after having a subpar Week 1.

Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 2

Stars shined in Week 1 of the fantasy football season, but not every star helped your fantasy team (I’m pointing at you, Roddy White). A few fantasy sleepers also put up good numbers and helped many teams in Week 1. Julius Thomas and Harry Douglas definitely helped their teams.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

2013 Fantasy Football: Top 15 Defense/ST Rankings

Over the past ten seasons, it’s rare that the preseason favorite DEF/ST team ends up on top at season’s end, but we do our best to rank the top 15 defenses and special teams for the 2013 NFL season.

With the addition of Percy Harvin, the Seattle Seahawks will be a tough team to pass up in the mid-rounds of your fantasy draft. I know defenses shouldn’t normally picked before the late, late rounds, but I expect big things from Richard Sherman and the rest of the defense…oh, and Percy Harvin possibly running back kickoffs & punts.

It’s never too early to start studying for the upcoming 2013 Fantasy Football season. The NFL is now a year-long sport with off-season, draft and training camp spread out throughout the year.

Top MLB Prospects Who Will Appear in 2013

Major League Baseball teams have put more focus on the draft over the last decade and it’s paying off. The minors are filled with the most talent its seen in the last two decades.

With the early success of Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper, Angels outfielder Mike Trout and White Sox pitcher Chris Sale, fans are expecting their teams to push their top prospects to the Majors as soon as possible.

You have already noticed a few teams caving in to the pressure and have their top prospects starting the season on the roster. Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller and Twins outfielder Aaron Hicks will start the season, but you could argue that they are filling a glaring need.
