2019 NCAA Football – Week 9 Betting Picks Against Spread

2019 College Football Picks Against the Spread Week 9 NCAA Arkansas Razorbacks cheerleadersI went 14-11 against the spread with my college football picks last week.

We are still waiting on that ‘Bizarro Betting Weekend’ we seem to get every year. It’s usually when the leaves start to change and we get a ton of upsets. Some of those upsets can be blamed on trap games or letdowns, but it hasn’t happened yet. Could it be this weekend?

There are a few big marquee games this weekend. Ohio State vs Wisconsin, Notre Dame vs Michigan and Auburn vs LSU are the three that I’ll definitely be watching on Saturday.

Which games will you be watching on Saturday?

2019 NCAA Football – Week 8 Betting Picks Against Spread

2019 College Football Picks Against the Spread Week 8 NCAA LSU Tigers cheerleadersI went 15-9-1 against the spread with my college football picks last week.

We are really in the heart of the conference schedules and we are seeing some big rivalry games pop up every weekend. The Penn State/Michigan game has a little extra importance this year since Michigan looks rather vulnerable.

There’s usually a really weird betting week that happens this time of the year. It seems like some weird things happen when seasons start to change and we get a slate of games full of upsets.

Will this be the Bizarro betting weekend?

2019 NCAA Football – Week 3 Betting Picks Against Spread

2019-College-Football-Picks-Against-the-Spread-Week-3-NCAA-Iowa-Hawkeyes-cheerleadersI started off strong this year and but just went 12-12-1 against the spread last week.

The key to staying hot while betting college football game is to not get too bogged down on the last week’s games. It’s important to stick with your own personal rankings and know when to bail on a team. Well, after the first couple weeks of the season, it is about time to think about jumping off a bandwagon. There won’t be much value on teams that are perceived to be unbeatable. You may have another week or two to ride them before the value disappears.

2019 College Football: All-Name Team

This is one of my favorite posts to do every year.

What makes a great college football name?

A good litmus test is if it works as a potential pro wrestling name, it works in college football. It also works if a name sounds like a verb, phrase, a certain body part or just a bad ass football name that makes them sound tough.

We went through every team in the top two divisions in the NCAA. We went through ever single name and picked out the ones that were funny and some names we just wish we had.

My name is Bobby Roberts, so of all the people who can write a post poking fun at names, it’s me. I’m always asked if my real name is Robert Roberts (it’s not) or if my name is fake (it’s not).

Here is the 2019-20 college football All-Name team.

2018 NCAA Football – Week 12 Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished 12-12-1 against the spread (again) last week. I’m over .500 on the year, but I’ve had a ton of even stevens weeks this year.

There are some big rivalry games on the schedule this week. Rivalry games can sometimes be difficult to handicap. The teams come in extra motivated and sometimes players have their own personal motivation (i.e. not getting a scholarship offer, growing up with a hatred of rival). There are just factors you can’t throw into a calculator and use in your decision-making process.

2018 NCAA Football – Week 11 Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished 15-9-1 against the spread last week.

The college football playoff picture is more in focus after some big games last week. Georgia is basically on their way to the SEC Championship game after beating Kentucky. Also, Alabama made a huge statement in their shutout win against LSU.

There are some big Big Ten games this week with both Penn State and Ohio State having big games that could alter the conference title game picture.

2018 NCAA Football – Week 6 Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished 14-11 last week, but really lost steam when it came to the late games. I got off to a great start, but the Pac-12 games and two nationally-televised late games ruined what could have been a pretty epic week. I still finished three games above .500, which isn’t a total loss.

There are some big games this weekend that weren’t viewed as important before the season. Indiana travels to Ohio State and Texas A&M hosts undefeated Kentucky. No one circled those games before the year, but now they are pretty darn important.

2018 NCAA Football – Week 5 Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished under .500 last weekend, but came out even after hitting on two upset moneyline plays.

It’s time to really adjust your rankings. Teams are now all in conference play and it’s important to remember non-conference game performance.

Also, it’s important to note that you can’t just look at a team’s past performance against a conference foe. There is a ton of data out there, but a lot of it is bad data. The turnover rate is too high in college football and most teams will not have certain impact players still at their school.

There are some traditional marquee games this weekend, like Ohio State at Penn State and Stanford at Notre Dame that should be fun television.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick 25 college football games against the spread in Week 5 of the 2018-19 NCAA Football season (September 29th, 2018). We also pick some smaller conference games.

Betting Picks: 2018 College Football Over/Under Season Wins

The 2018-19 NCAA football regular season kicks off this week and there are a lot of sleeper buzz around many teams this year.

There an abnormally large numbers of major programs change head coaches this offseason. Jimbo Fisher is now at Texas A&M, Chip Kelly is at UCLA, Willie Taggart is at Florida State, etc…will any of these experienced coaches make huge Year 1 improvements?

I’ve been working on these picks for quite awhile. I underestimated the amount of time these picks would take. I penciled in two days to really tackle these, but it ended up taking six days. I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to picking over/under totals…and a stomach bug didn’t help.

There are a lot of even win totals, so if I pick ‘PUSH’, it’s mostly just advising you to avoid betting on this team, since the win total will most likely be the real win total. I don’t want you to basically loan your betting site x-amount of dollars just to get back the same amount in early-December.

2018 NCAA Football – Week 1 Betting Picks Against Spread

I rarely do Week 1 college football gambling picks, but I feel like I’ve done so much research, it’s time I do it this year.

The reason I rarely do Week 1 college football picks is because I like a little more information. I can see how teams do and a lot of college coaches like to wait until the last minute to officially name a starting QB (I’m looking at you UCLA & Alabama). Teams can vary so much in college that there’s a lot of risk in Week 1…but on the other hand, if you’re prepared, there’s also a lot of value in betting heavy in the first two weeks of the season.

There are some big games this week as Notre Dame, Florida State, Auburn, Washington and Michigan all face tough opponents to start the season.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick 25 college football games against the spread in Week 1 of the 2018-19 NCAA Football season (September 1st, 2018). We also pick some smaller conference games.

Early Heisman Trophy Betting Favorites

It’s only June, but it’s never too early to start thinking about your college football betting strategy.

The betting odds for the 2018-19 Heisman Trophy were released today. This list is full of many new names, but one of this year’s favorites isn’t new to preseason Heisman buzz. Last year’s Heisman runner-up Stanford RB Bryce Love is near the top of this year’s early Heisman favorites.

Is is a lock for Love will win the Heisman this season? Early Heisman favorites haven’t been so lucky in recent years. Oregon QB Marcus Mariota is the only early top favorite in the last decade that went on to win the Heisman. Last year’s winner Oklahoma Baker Mayfield had the second-best odds of winning it going into last season, behind USC QB Sam Darnold.

Who are this year’s early Heisman favorites? Do any standout as a nice value bet?

2018 NFL Draft: Best Undrafted Players

256 players were drafted in the 2018 NFL Draft over a three-day period. Some of those players will never play one down in a regular season NFL game. On the other side of the coin, many college players that went undrafted could end up having long careers in the NFL.

Kurt Warner went undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft. He was a training camp invitee with the Green Bay Packers. He was released before the season and then found himself in the Arena Football League. He was successful there and then signed by the St. Louis Rams. Starting QB Trent Green suffered an ACL injury in the preseason and Warner was named the starter. He went on the win the Super Bowl that season. Warner is now a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Other recent undrafted players that had success in the NFL: RB Thomas Rawls, LB Zach Orr, WR Willie Snead, CB Malcolm Butler, RB Corey Clement, WR Robbie Anderson and many others.
