Who Should the Colts Draft at #6?

The Indianapolis Colts did have the third overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but traded down to sixth for a king’s ransom. They traded the Jets and received the 6th, 37th, and 49th overall pick in this year’s draft and a second-round pick next year.

The Colts are in a great position as they aren’t in need of a quarterback…but they need just about everything else. Their former general manager was horrible at evaluating college talent and most of his picks have already flunked out of the league.

There are four or five quarterbacks that teams have circled as potential top-ten picks. There are eight or nine teams that are in need of a young quarterback. The Colts sixth pick could end up being a valuable trade piece as they could move another pick to acquire many more picks.

He’s got 99 Problems but Signing Superstars Ain’t One

Saquon Barkley recently signed with Roc Nation Sports agency, the company that was started by world famous rapper, Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter. It was a huge acquisition for the organization with Barkley widely considered to be the number one running back prospect ahead of this year’s NFL Draft. If Barkley is selected as top choice, it will be the third time in just four years that the agency has represented the first pick running back in the league. With Jay Z having already conquered the music world, it seems as though he now has his sights set firmly on professional sports, and rising stars from everywhere are lining up to be a part of the Roc Nation team. Super Bowl 52 – Betting Picks Against Spread & Prop Bets

I LOVE prop bets. I actually get more joy out of betting Super Bowl prop bets than betting against the spread. Yes, most are a crap shoot, but with the right research, you can end up winning bets with very favorable odds.

I’m not saying you can research who will win the coin toss, but there are many other player and team prop bets out there that have nice odds.

Some prop bets aren’t worth the money (the vig isn’t worth the slight risk), but sometimes you just have to lay a few bucks down, cross your fingers and wish for the best.

2018 NFL Conference Championship Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 3-0-1 against the spread last week, but whiffed in my over/under picks. The last-second touchdown from Vikings WR Stefon Diggs helped me avoid a loss. I was really hoping they would kick the extra point, but they downed it instead, which lead to a push.

Weather ‘might’ be a factor since both Conference Championship games are being played outdoors. Keep a close eye on weather reports and make sure there isn’t a snowstorm or an arctic blast that pops up this weekend.

Should the Patriots really be a nine-point favorite against the Jaguars?

2018 NFL Divisional Round Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I whiffed on my picks against the spread last week, but my over/under picks bailed me out (a little). I went 3-5 and I’m a bit punch drunk after all the underdog covers last week.

Weather ‘could’ become a factor in the Divisional Round NFL playoff games. Pittsburgh and New England forecasts could become important information as they are playing outdoors in those games.

Should the Eagles be an underdog at home?

Can the Jaguars keep things close in Pittsburgh in what could be snowy conditions?

2018 NFL Wild Card Playoff Games – Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished the year 136-105-15 against the spread during the NFL regular season.

Since there aren’t many games in the playoffs, I also pick over/under point totals as well.

A few of these Wild Card teams were big underdogs to even make the postseason. The Bills needed a near-miracle and found themselves in the playoffs for the first time since 1999. Buffalo fans are donating money to Bengals QB Andy Dalton’s charity to thank him for his last-second touchdown pass to knock the Ravens out of playoff contention.

Is Buffalo just happy to be in the playoffs or are they a real threat to knockoff Jacksonville?

2017 NFL Week 17 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Week 16 was a rough one for us. We took a couple risks that didn’t pay off. I honestly thought the Browns would play much better against the Bears and that the Lions would show up to play against the lowly Bengals.

Week 17 is full of landmines since some last-minute changes could mean players end up resting and taking the week off. Keep track of possible playoff outcomes and what their head coaches are saying this week.

Every game this week is on Sunday, so this could be a rare time to completely waste your money and put a few jellybeans on a 16-team parlay…which would have odds somewhere in-between astronomical and impossible. I don’t recommend anyone ever do this unless it’s a gag and is only a few bucks.

2017 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 17

It’s officially CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK! I know some leagues ended last week, but those leagues are lame. A team has to really go the extra effort to win if the championship game includes Week 17.

Week 17 can often be extremely difficult to navigate since teams take out their stars if they have nothing to play for and there are sometimes unreal performances from young, hungry players that are playing for big contracts this coming offseason. It’s just a weird week and a team should have to play this week to deserve the title as ‘fantasy football champion.’

2017 NFL Week 16 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 10-3-3 last week in an extraordinary week with favorite-heavy covers. 

I really, really hate double-digit point spreads in the NFL…but they are unavoidable at this time of the year.

Vegas is really sticking it to bettors this week since nearly every favorite won last week and they have to make their money back.

There isn’t a Thursday game this week, so I delayed my post by a day. I was surprised all the betting lines were on the board since Week 16 and 17 games are often last-minute adds with injuries and other roster changes evaluated through the week.

2018 NFL Pro Bowl Rosters Announced

The NFL announced the 2018 Pro Bowl rosters for the AFC and NFC squads.

Not a ton of surprises really with a lot of familiar faces making another Pro Bowl team. The Steelers led the league with eight selections with the Saints and Eagles topping the NFC squad with six players each. 

A few rookies made the list, with Eagles QB Carson Wentz, Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt, Saints CB Marshon Lattimore, Saints RB Alvin Kamara and special teamer Budda Baker named to squads.

A lot of guys nominated like the aforementioned Wentz, Steelers LB Ryan Shazier and others will not be able to appear due to injuries, so more new faces will be named to the teams in the coming weeks.
