3 Effective Tips That Will Make You A Better Guitar Player

The guitar is probably one of the most popular instruments in the world. It’s quite an exciting instrument to learn, and there’s a lot of coolness surrounding it. However, some people struggle to get to grips with it and just can’t play the guitar as well as they’d like. If this applies to you, then here are some great tips that will make you a better player in a short space of time:

Find A Guitar That Feels Right In Your Hands

When an Olympic sprinter gets ready to run, they don’t put on any pair of trainers they find. Instead, they look for a pair that fit well and make them feel comfortable enough to run as fast as can be. It’s the same with guitarists and their guitars; you need to find one that feels right.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: July 2017

I have found a lot of good music for this month’s playlist. It expanded to 25 tracks for a second month in a row. Also, a band this month did something that almost never happens, they appear twice on this playlist.

I don’t think having 25 tracks on a playlist every month will become the norm, but it is needed this Summer. I haven’t been able to cut the playlist down to 20 the last two months.

I always keep an ear out for new music. I love discovering new bands/songs, it’s a habit from my days as a music journalist. Even though this is mostly a sports blog, I still add quite a bit of music and pop culture content. Keep sending me tracks via email or Twitter.

Make sure to go over to our Spotify playlist where we add every track each month. There’s something for everyone there.

Turn Your Love For Good Music Into Good Money

They say music feeds the soul, and they’re probably not wrong. Music makes you feel good, and life needs that from time to time. No wonder so many of us love music with a passion. And no wonder so many of us wish we could use that passion to earn a living. Well, maybe you can turn your favorite thing in the world into an income stream. Here are just a few ways you might be able to monetize music to suit you:

Talk About It

If you have something to say about music, then say it. Talking about music in a blog or vlog can eventually lead to a revenue stream. Sure, it takes time, lots of content, and thousands of dedicated followers. But if you stick with it, you could certainly start to earn a little from talking about the one thing you’re passionate about in life. You might review artists, tracks, or live performances. Talk about the music you like and the music you don’t. Continue reading

Manly “Meditations”

Now, this isn’t about sitting cross-legged on the floor and chanting “om” until you see the inner light! Oh no! This is about picking the right hobby that makes you forget about your worries, and that’s really all that meditation is. If you can relax and forget the world by breathing deeply until you feel on another plain, then that’s great, but for a lot of us, being told to sit and think about nothing is not going to work. What about us that are so stressed in life, that being told to sit back and not get stressed isn’t going to work! Whether you’ve got a busy life, or you’re going through a tough time, there are things that many people do to get away from the world for five minutes, and here are a few.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: January 2017

americas-white-boy-january-2017-sweetbobs-hipster-music-playlist-funny-get-weird-coldIt’s a new year and it’s cold as hell outside. It took me a longer time than usual to put together this month’s hipster music playlist. I used up a lot of my extra cache of tracks in last month’s playlist. Bands aren’t too keen on releasing new stuff in late-December and January.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: Best of 2016

americas-white-boy-best-of-2016-sweetbobs-hipster-music-playlist-funny-et-weirdWe post a hipster music playlist (almost) every month here on America’s White Boy. We looked through all of this year’s playlists and picked the best 20 tracks.

There was something we noticed while compiling this list. It was a strong year for female vocalists. Warpaint, eskimeaux, Phantogram and Sleigh Bells all put out some great music. I also need to give props to the guys, since Kishi Bashi and Grouplove released two of the best albums of the year. I actually had to put two Grouplove tracks on this playlist.
