2016 NFL Week 6 – Betting Picks Against Spread

andrew-luck-sacked-indianapolis-colts-chicago-bears-americas-white-boy-week-6-picks-against-the-spread-nflI ‘sacked’ Vegas last week and finished with a 12-1-1 record. It was my best finish of the year and hope to carry the momentum forward. I also hit on two nice moneylines last week. I would have had a blemish-free week if it wasn’t for the Eagles.

There are a few weird lines this weekend. Those questionable lines surround average teams being favored by six points or greater. It’s just odd seeing these kinds of odds this early in this year. A few lines appear more like Week 17 lines.

NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 6 of the 2016 NFL season.

Omameh Most Likely to Replace Joeckel as Left Guard for Jaguars

usatsi_9422589_1476298874438_6488262_ver1-0Although the departure of Luke Joeckel has indeed left a big void, it seems that the Jaguars are gearing up to replace their left guard, and may have already found the right candidate.

As the Jaguars are getting ready to face the Chicago Bears in their upcoming match, it seems that veteran lineman Patrick Omameh is going to be next man up for Jacksonville – something that has sent made certain bookies with their NFL betting lines very happy. Having served as the swing tackle for the team through the first four games, it was perhaps the hard work that he did in relief of Joeckel that earned him the opportunity to be considered as the first candidate to replace Joeckel went the latter went down during the Jaguars’ Week 4 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Omameh held his ground in London and protected quarterback Blake Bortles down the stretch.

WWE: Paige Fails Another Drug Test – What’s Going On?

Paige failed drug test second WWEWWE superstar Paige has been making the news for all the wrong reasons.

She has been in the news since she failed a drug test in late-August the same day her boyfriend Alberto Del Rio also failed his test. It was reported that they failed for different reasons. Del Rio announced later that he was taking testosterone to help with his physique.

Her boyfriend worked out a mutual release with WWE, since an ‘out clause’ was coming up soon anyways. Paige has a couple years left on her contract, so there’s no way WWE would let her out of her contract, especially since she’s a high profile talent on their programming and E!’s “Total Divas.”

Well, Paige was apparently awaiting neck surgery when she failed her second drug test, which results in an unpaid 60-day suspension.

Sports Crush: Kay Adams

kay-adams-cute-good-morning-football-nfl-network-pretty-legs-fantasy-zone-brunette-headshotKay Adams is one of the hosts of ‘Good Morning Football” on NFL Network and also a co-host of ‘Fantasy Zone’ on DirecTV, a companion of the NFL Sunday Ticket package.

We were once ‘kind of’ co-workers at one time. She worked at the Fanball office in St. Louis doing video work and I was a freelance writer for them covering the Columbus Blue Jackets and Indiana Pacers on their team pages.

She’s cute as a button and if you have ever seen her on television, you know she’s a fun gal.

We have featured many other sports reporters/anchors in the past like Erin Coscarelli, Jen Hale, Britt McHenry and Jenny Dell.

See why we are crushing on Kay Adams

NBA: Season Wins Over/Under – Western Conference

nba-2016-17-season-wins-over-under-funny-western-conference-basketball-old-guyThe NBA regular season kicks off at the end of the month…and I can’t wait.

The offseason seemed to be gone in a blink of an eye. A ton of money was thrown around and some players are a few pounds of cash heavier.

NBA owners will want another ‘amnesty clause’ in the next CBA to bail themselves out from some of these deals. There are some guys who should have been wearing ski masks when signing their new deals.

The Golden State Warriors won the Western Conference last season and are early favorites to repeat this season. Any sleepers out there worth a bet?

2016 NCAA Football – Week 6 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 12-12-1 after my bonus five picks decided to turn against me. I did have a few moneyline successes and hit on last week’s big game at Clemson.

This weekend has a full slate of great college football games. There are some games this weekend with massive implications. Some are rivalry games like Oklahoma vs Texas and Miami vs Florida State…and others are just good conference games that could factor into conference titles like Tennessee vs Texas A&M.

Could Charlie Strong’s job be on the line when Texas faces Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl?

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (October 8th, 2016) and a few Thursday games. We also pick five extra games as a bonus.

2016 NFL Week 5 – Betting Picks Against Spread

nfl-week-5-picks-against-the-spread-americas-white-boy-gambling-odell-beckham-new-york-giantsI finished with a 9-6 record on the week and hit on a couple sweet moneylines, so I’m a happy man.

A quarter of the season is in the books and there’s two teams that have no business being over .500 (Ravens and Rams). I don’t think either will fare well this weekend.

I’ve been hovering around .500 this year and I currently sit at 30-30-3 on the season. I hope to widen the gap between wins and losses. I feel pretty good about this week’s picks.

NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 5 of the 2016 NFL season.

QB Jalen Hurts’ Mental Strength Impresses Coaches

9518227-jalen-hurts-ncaa-football-alabama-vs-southern-californiaNo one expected the top-ranked Crimson Tide’s freshman quarterback to fumble so many times; but fortunately for him, each time he has fallen, Jalen has bounced back stronger than ever. This early in his college career, no one is ready to make any drastic pronunciations about Jalen’s future, not when the NFL betting lines seem so favorable for him.

Coach Nick Saban recently expressed his support for the 18-year-old, despite his mistakes. You cannot help but commend the young player for his mental fortitude. Jalen has refused to crack under pressure, this despite leading the defending national champions on more than one occasion.

You can never tell what a player is made of until he faces the fire, and Jalen has faced the fire, withstood the pressure and has come out at the end all the better for it. Every test Jalen has faced so far he has passed, and there have been quite a number of rough patches along the way.

Is It Time for Colin Kaepernick?

colin-kaepernick-1-1200x900The oh so strange and topsy turvy season of 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick may be set to take another turn. Just this week a survey of NFL fans, as reported by Forbes, says that fully 1/3 are less likely to watch the NFL on television because of the national anthem protests that are being led by Kaepernick. The once unassailable television ratings juggernaut that is the NFL has seen an unprecedented drop this season, and at least according to these numbers, their kryptonite is the action spurred on by a single backup quarterback. Although it is also worth noting that Kaepernick’s #7 49ers jersey began the season as the NFL’s top seller, although we can’t be sure that if that’s in support of Kaepernick, or to burn his jersey in effigy.

NBA: Season Wins Over/Under – Eastern Conference

nba-2016-17-season-wins-over-under-eastern-conference-funny-old-guy-basketballThe NBA preseason just kicked off and the regular season is not too far away.

If I had to describe the NBA offseason with one word, the word would be MONEY.

It goes without saying that a lot of bad contracts were signed. A ton of money exchanged hands after the salary cap shot up to $94.143 million, an increase of roughly $24 million. I have a feeling NBA owners will want another ‘amnesty clause’ in the next CBA to bail themselves out from some of these deals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference last season and are early favorites to repeat this season. Any sleepers out there worth a bet?

Impact Wrestling Must Be ‘Broken’ Before It Is Fixed

broken-matt-hardy-brother-nero-maxel-tna-impact-wrestling-bound-for-gloryImpact Wrestling has been the center of many rumors the last week. Most surrounded the impending sale of the promotion. As of this post, majority owner Dixie Carter is still in control.

The ‘Bound For Glory’ pay-per-view went off as planned and it was a pretty solid show overall. Carter must have received funding from one of the groups wanting to buy Impact Wrestling (or TNA Wrestling) from her.

Billy Corgan (yes, the Smashing Pumpkins lead singer) is currently trying to purchase the promotion. He’s currently the President of Impact Ventures, the company that owns Impact/TNA. He acquired that title after letting Impact Ventures borrow money for a few television tapings.

2016 NCAA Football – Week 5 Betting Picks Against Spread

clemson-cheerleader-americas-white-boy-college-football-ncaa-betting-picks-against-the-spread-2016I thought I went 16-9 for the week once again, but I added everything up again and I missed a game by a half-point, so a 15-10 record still isn’t too shabby.

We are at the point where every team is in their conference schedule, which is great. There’s a lot more information and history between teams. It also makes the betting lines more tight since Vegas has the same information as the bettor.

There’s a huge game between Louisville and Clemson this weekend. It may impact the championship race, since both teams are in the ACC. The conference is great, but I doubt they will get two teams in the playoffs.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (October 1st, 2016) and a few Thursday games. We also pick five extra games as a bonus.
