Top 10 WWE Matches of 2017

I started to compile a list of the ten best wrestling matches of 2017. The list of contenders was loaded with New Japan matches, a couple from Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and not many from WWE.

This year has just been an insane year for great matches all over the world. I decided to save that list for later this month and just focus on WWE with this post.

I was surprised there weren’t many top matches with women wrestlers in WWE. The top ten matches in WWE the last two years had plenty of contenders from the women’s division. I think when you have a belt on Alexa Bliss for most of the year (on Smackdown and RAW), and every brand PPV usually only has one women’s match (usually just the title match), you’re cutting down the opportunities for women to have great matches.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: December 2017

I had to dig a little deeper for this month’s playlist. There haven’t been a ton of new material released in the last two weeks. I still managed to find some great new music and re-discovered some songs I looked over this Fall.

I’m working on a ‘Best of 2017 Playlist’ as we speak. I’m trying to carve down the list of all of the songs that appeared on playlists this year (around 300) down to a respectable number. I’m shooting for a Top 25…let’s hope I can make it that small. It should be ready by mid-December.

I always keep an ear out for new music. I love discovering new bands/songs, it’s a habit from my days as a music journalist. Even though this is mostly a sports blog, I still add quite a bit of music and pop culture content. Keep sending me tracks via email or Twitter.

If you want to listen to songs that appeared on past playlists, you can listen to our playlist on Spotify or go here to view our past hipster playlists.

2017 NFL Week 13 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I had a perfect Thanksgiving last week. After struggling on Thursday games like it was my freakin’ job, I went 3 for 3 on Thanksgiving. I started out hot on Sunday as well, but finished the week with a 9-6-1.

The perfect Thanksgiving was a bit unexpected, but really needed. I should go back to see what my Thursday record is, but I’m almost afraid.

There are some pretty cool games coming up this weekend. A few division games that could be the difference in who wins their division.

Can the Giants find success with QB Geno Smith starting over Eli Manning?

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 13 of the 2017 NFL season.

Sports Stars And Their Dumbest Investments

Most of us are not rich enough to have massive extravagances, in fact, the biggest extravagance most of us have these days is a subscription to Netflix! But while we can always sit and dream about the good life, remember, there have been so many athletes that have made massive purchases, that they have completely backfired on them, and have been some of the dumbest purchases ever made! Let’s have a look at a few choice examples…

Jack Clark

The former baseball player enjoyed an illustrious career with the San Francisco Giants, the St. Louis Cardinals as well as the mighty Boston Red Sox, but what wasn’t so mighty, was his predilection for fast cars. His hobby of purchasing expensive vehicles, including the Ferrari F40, accelerated his bankruptcy and forced him to sell up his $2.4 million California home! And, while we’ve seen some successes in buying property, or even, in some extreme circumstances, leaving the game altogether, such as Jason Brown quitting football, Mr Clark didn’t fare so well. Lots of athletes invest in property, and sites like SportsAfieldTrophyProperties.com show the pinnacle of what sports stars are aiming for, but in the case of Mr Clark, an extravagant purchase doesn’t always mean a secure investment!

2017 NCAA Football – Week 14 Betting Picks Against Spread

I bounced back last week after a disastrous Week 12 and hit on some big games and a couple upset moneylines.

I went ahead and picked every single games this weekend. Conference Championship games are on the schedule as well as some smaller school games.

Many of the conference championship games are rematches from games that happened early in the season. That is not always the case, so we have some data to study. Study with caution since a lot has changed since the previous game and it’s also pretty hard to beat a team twice-in-a-row.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick every college football games against the spread in Week 14 of the NCAA Football season (December 2nd, 2017). We also pick some smaller conference games.

2017 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 13

Most fantasy football leagues start the playoffs next week. This week could be the last week to push your way into the winner’s bracket.

Most teams already have their starting lineup set in stone. I still use streaming defenses, kickers and most of my flex options go week-to-week. It’s really hard to win in fantasy these days if you don’t tinker with your lineup every week to some extent.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 13 of the 2017 NFL season…and enjoy our weird MS Paint masterpiece of New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

A Fan’s Guide To Supporting A Sports Team From A Different Country

We all have sports that we know and love to follow. For most of us, we stick to fairly national sports like football, basketball, or baseball. All the teams we support are from this country, which makes it very easy to be a good supporter. We can go to games, watch them on TV, it’s really simple.

But, what if you follow a sport or team from a different country? Plenty of us do it, with soccer especially. A lot of the best soccer teams play over in Europe, so we choose to support one of them and try to follow the big games.

The only problem and this applies to foreign teams in other sports too, is that it’s harder to support them. It’s not as easy to follow their matches thanks to time zones, and we can’t exactly go to matches all the time. Keeping that in mind, I’ve come up with a few ideas to help any sports fans that try to support a foreign team.

Sports Not For The Faint Hearted

Some thrillseekers just aren’t happy with the normal sports that some of us like. Some people love to push it to the extreme in order to get that adrenaline rush they need. But it obviously doesn’t come with risks. Some can be so dangerous and claim many lives each year. But people’s love for sport pushes them to do more, be more daring, and to have new experiences. If you’re usually into football or swimming, but feel you’d be up for a bit of a challenge, then take a read of these daring sports below. But be warned, they’re not for the faint hearted.

2017 NFL Week 12 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I had a pretty sad all around betting experience last weekend. I was rocked in college football and was just so-so in the NFL. I hit on a nice parlay that saved the weekend.

I’ve historically done very well on Thanksgiving. I’ve went a perfect three-for-three in many years. I can’t promise that will happen this season as Thursday games are the bane of my existence. It’s becoming a gimmick at this point.

There are quite a few double-digit point spreads this week. We will see more and more of those as teams start to drop out of playoff contention.

Can I win a damn Thursday game? Let’s do this!

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 12 of the 2017 NFL season.

2017 NCAA Football – Week 13 Betting Picks Against Spread

Your boy had a really rough week. I missed on a couple embarrassing blowouts, injuries hurt two games and weather was a huge factor. I thought weather would miss some of these games, but nope, the middle of the country was just pounded by rain and poor playing conditions.

It’s officially rivalry week. The country’s biggest programs face their rivals this week. These games have a reputation for being closer than normal games, but it’s not an ‘end all, be all’ rule one must obey. Good teams still blow out their rivals on a consistent basis. There is always at least one big upset to keep the attitude of ‘throw the record books out when these two teams meet’ alive.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick 30 college football games against the spread in Week 13 of the NCAA Football season (November 25th, 2017). We also pick some smaller conference games.

2017 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 12

Yay! No more freakin’ bye weeks! A few of those weeks were rough, but we all hopefully survived.

Injuries are still happening at an alarming rate and the injuries to Washington RB Chris Thompson and even Miami QB Jay Cutler (in super deep leagues) can really mess with a roster. We hope to give you some streaming options for the week.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 12 of the 2017 NFL season…and enjoy our oddball triumphant MS Paint masterpiece of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
