2015 NFL Week 17 – Betting Picks Against Spread

The Carolina Panthers had their bid for a perfect season end against Atlanta. My bid for the perfect betting season ended in Week 1, so Cam shouldn’t pout too much about his ending in Week 16!

It is important to look at potential playoff scenarios before placing any bets. A few top teams have already cemented their spot in the playoffs, so a team like the Washington Redskins could sit their starting quarterback. Also, there will be a few teams that will bench their kind-of-banged-up stars this week.

Will we finish strong heading into the NFL playoffs? We’ve had a pretty good season so far, so we hope to have a solid Week 17.

2015 NFL Week 16 – Betting Picks Against Spread

After killing it for nearly a month, I’ve went .500 in back-to-back weeks. I’m glad that this week is almost entirely made up of division games. You have some history to go off from and are a little more predictable.

The one major thing I make sure to study this late in the year is the standings and injury reports. A lot of teams that don’t have much left to play for can be cautious with their young players and keep them out of games. Also, some teams that are near the bottom of the league could end up tanking. I don’t see much tanking this year, so that’s a good thing.

After a close game last weekend, can Carolina stay perfect against the Atlanta Falcons?

2015 NFL Week 15 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I hovered around .500 last week and finished 7-9 on the week. I didn’t have any bad beats, just a some poor outings from quarterbacks that I thought would play better.

Make sure to keep an eye on the playoff standings from this point forward. You need to figure how which teams have something left to gain by playing hard. Also, keep an eye on weather reports. You never know when a game could turn into an ice bowl. If a team is playing outdoors in the Midwest, it shouldn’t be a huge factor since we have weird Autumn-like weather right now.

Can the Steelers keep airing out the ball against the Broncos secondary?

2015 Maxim Hot 100 List

Maxim released its annual “Hot 100” list for 2015. It’s filled with the usual suspects (Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, etc), but they always add a few up & coming starlets.

I’m quite late posting about Maxim’s Hot 100 list this year. I usually write up a post soon after the list is released. I comment on which women are too high on the list and note a few that were glaring omissions.

This year’s list is pretty solid, even though I’m not a huge fan of Taylor Swift (I hope her squad doesn’t read the site). I like many of the newcomers and as usual, the list is filled with Victoria’s Secret models.

2015 NFL Week 14 – Betting Picks Against Spread

Last week, I had a weird week picking against the spread. I missed some early games, but then my picks were hitting non-stop. I even picked the Philly moneyline in the New England/Philadelphia game. That kind of negated any early losses.

I went 10-5-1 last week against the spread. I’m on a four-straight ‘strong week’ streak. I want to thank the bookmakers for the lack of double-digit point spreads so far this season. It seemed like they were all double-digits by this time last season.

Toy Crazy: Mattel’s WWE Elite Series 40

I’m a self-confessed vintage toy nerd. I collect vintage wrestling action figures from the 80’s & 90’s. I started purchasing some vintage toys out of nostalgia. Well, WWE and Mattel sucked me into their new stuff. I now buy a few figures a month. You can view photos of my collection on my Instagram account.

Mattel has been including more flashback figures, which I love. I think it’s largely due to the success of the Target exclusive Hall of Fame series (by the way, series three should be in stores in the near future).

Elite 40 might be the best overall series released this calendar year. The WWE Superstars included in Elite 40 are Sami Zayn, Umaga, I.R.S., Rick Rude, Tyson Kidd and John Cena.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 14 Betting Picks Against Spread

This week isn’t as stocked with games, since all the marquee games are conference championship games. We ended up picking every single college football game against the spread.

I went 10-9-1 against the spread last week. Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Iowa still sit on top of the College Football Playoff rankings. Michigan State will play in the CFP with a win over Iowa on Saturday. Also, Ohio State and Stanford could sneak in if Florida and/or North Carolina throw a wrench into machine.

The Heisman trophy front-runner Alabama RB Derrick Henry could lock up the trophy with another strong performance.

2015 NFL Week 13 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I once against went perfect on Thanksgiving. I then hit on a bunch of early games, but the late games nearly ruined a good week. I hit on some moneylines and was super stoked about picking the Broncos moneyline against New England. It was a nail-biter, but I’ll take it.

I went 10-6 last week against the spread. I’ve had three-straight strong weeks and have made up for me bouncing around .500 in college football this year.

There are a lot of division games this weekend. Which ones will end up being upsets?

Can the Carolina Panthers go undefeated this season?

After eleven games, the Carolina Panthers have won eleven successive contests and look an absolute shoo-in to finish as the number one seed in the NFC. Quarterback Cam Newton has been sensational throughout the early stages of the campaign and is producing brilliant moments on offense despite losing primary wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to a season-ending injury in the summer.

On current form, the Panthers look well placed to challenge for a place in the Super Bowl and will fancy their chances of success in front of their home fans. In fact, Carolina haven’t lost in the regular season for over a year now – an impressive feat.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 13 Betting Picks Against Spread

One day, I hope to be as happy as Michigan State’s kicker was last week. He went complete ‘Oprah audience member winning a free car’ crazy.

I went 11-9 against the spread last week. Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Iowa are now sitting on top of the College Football Playoff rankings this week. Michigan State and Notre Dame are currently the first two teams left out of the playoff.

I wanted to pick Baylor/TCU and Penn State/Michigan State games, but as of this writing, those lines are currently off the board. I wanted to get this week’s lines out as early as possible due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Injuries have hit some key players across the NFL. Nearly every team has a glaring issue at one or more positions at this point. The injury report becomes more important as the season moves along.

I went 10-3-1 last week against the spread. I’ve had back-to-back monster weeks. I even hit on two moneyline plays last week that paid out pretty nice (Colts & Bucs).

The response has been fantastic, so we decided to profile an up & coming diva who was recently called up to WWE’s main roster…”The Boss” Sasha Banks.

Banks, whose real name is Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado, has been wrestling since 2010. She was signed by WWE in 2012 and was in WWE’s developmental territory NXT until recently. She won the NXT Women’s Championship during her time there.
