‘America’s White Boy’ 2017 NBA Mock Draft

Just like we did for the NFL Draft, we are here to release our 2017 NBA Mock Draft.

A lot can change before June 22nd. Many expect the Celtics and Lakers to get plenty of calls until then. The biggest possible trade that could happen could be the Pacers trading Paul George to the Celtics for a large package of prospects and the #1 overall pick. Will it happen? I’d say there’s only about a 20% chance right now.

Here is the ‘America’s White Boy’ 2017 NBA Mock Draft.

1. Boston Celtics – Markelle Fultz – PG – Washington Huskies – Fultz is the consensus best player in the draft. Even though Washington was a bad team last year, it should bring up too many red flags. In baseball, they call a prospect that can do everything a ‘five-tool player’…and Fultz is the equivalent in basketball. He has hops, he can shoot, he is very good defensively and has the size for his position. It will be interesting to see how he will play with Isaiah Thomas, but it can be done. This pick is very desirable, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Boston gets a mother lode for it if they trade it.

Toy Crazy: Mattel’s WWE Elite Series 51

I’m a self-confessed vintage toy nerd. I collect vintage wrestling action figures from the 80’s & 90’s. I started purchasing some vintage toys out of nostalgia. Well, WWE and Mattel sucked me into their new stuff. I now buy a few figures a month. You can view photos of my collection on my Instagram account.

The lineup in Elite 51 is above average. Any set after Elite 50 was going to be a little underwhelming. That set was fabulous.

The WWE Superstars included in Elite 51 are A.J. Styles, Mankind, Scott Hall, Roman Reigns, Berzerker and Sami Zayn.

Toy Crazy: Summer 2017 WWE Funko Releases

We covered some upcoming Funko releases back in April. Those figures are already in my collection and look fantastic.

We have reviewed a lot of Mattel’s WWE Elite figures, but Funko has also released some pretty solid figures in the past. I’m a big collector and you can see some of my collection on my Instagram, @vintagetoybob.

Sweetbob’s Fantasy Baseball F/M/K – May 4th

We are now a month into the 2017 MLB season.

The new 10-day disabled list is causing some new issues this year. A lot more guys are being put on there since they wouldn’t lose him for two weeks. There are a lot of guys on the waiver wire on the DL that would be on a roster if they weren’t injured.

We look at some players who started out hot, some who are struggling and maybe some guys who should be targeted in your free agent pool.

Before I begin, let’s go over the F/M/K terminology. The guys that I list under “F*ck” are guys that are currently hot and you need to pick them up. “Marry”, are guys that you need to stick with the whole season, even if they are struggling a bit. “Kill”, are guys that need to be dropped for better players in the free agent pool.

2017 NFL Draft: Best Undrafted Players

The 2017 NFL Draft is officially complete and street sweepers are cleaning up the aftermath in Philly.

253 players were drafted over a three-day period. Some of those players will never play one down in a regular season NFL game. On the other side of the coin, many college players that went undrafted could end up having long careers in the NFL.

Kurt Warner went undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft. He was a training camp invitee with the Green Bay Packers. He was released before the season and then found himself in the Arena Football League. He was successful there and then signed by the St. Louis Rams. Starting QB Trent Green suffered an ACL injury in the preseason and Warner was named the starter. He went on the win the Super Bowl that season. Warner will be inducted in the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio late this Summer.

2017 NFL Draft: Day 2 Recap

Well, Day 2 of the 2017 NFL Draft is over.

There aren’t many ‘sexy’ picks made on Day 2, but this is where a lot of guys with first round talent, but either injuries or off-the-field issues keep their names from being called on Thursday.

Day 2 is also where many teams pick up some of the depth a playoff team needs to make it through the entire season. Guys get injured and the ‘next guy up’ mentality is present late in every NFL season.

2017 NFL Draft: First-Round Recap

The first round of the 2017 NFL Draft is in the books.

There were a few trades, but very little surprises. I guess the most surprising trend of the night was how much teams were getting to trade down in the draft. The Bears, Chiefs and Texans paid a huge premium to trade up to draft quarterbacks.

We explain our thoughts on each first round pick and compare them to our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.

1. Cleveland Browns – Myles Garrett – DE – Texas A&M Aggies – I’m glad the Browns stuck to the ‘best player available’ for their #1 pick. I’m sure some people were in their ear trying to persuade them to draft a quarterback, but they held their ground. (Mock: DE Myles Garrett)

Turn Fandom Into Fitness

If you’re a huge sports fan who never misses a game the chances are you enjoy sitting on the sofa or in a bar watching your favorite teams. There’s nothing better than a great game in a relaxed setting with friends. However if you’re worried about your fitness levels, and don’t fancy hitting the gym, you could turn that fandom into fitness. Here are some two of the best sports to watch, and how you could get fit by playing them.

Basketball

Basketball is a hugely popular sport and one which teaches a great many skills. As any fan of the sport will know it involves a huge amount of variety. Players shoot, dribble, pass, defend, and do much more throughout the course of the game. Now, basketball is a stop-start kind of a game, which means it’s not recognized as a hugely aerobic sport. However playing basketball can burn up to 700 calories (when played for an hour). Burning calories is the best way to lose weight and develop tone. Not just that but playing this sport can build up your endurance and stamina. You will also be improving your balance and coordination, plus you’ll build muscle and self-discipline.

We’ve spotlighted female MMA fighters, WWE Divas and female sports reporters like MLB Network’s Heidi Watney, ESPN’s Britt McHenry and NFL Network’s Kay Adams. We decided to profile another female sports reporter, MLB Network studio host Lauren Shehadi.

Shehadi co-hosts MLB Central with Mark DeRosa and Matt Vasgersian.

Shehadi also once worked for CBS Sports and was an intern for Fox Sports Network’s The Best Damn Sports Show Period.

We are crushing on Lauren Shehadi and once you look at our photo gallery, you will understand why.

‘America’s White Boy’ 2017 NFL Mock Draft

Many sites post weekly mock draft updates and could have posted as many as 30 revisions up to this point. We like to simplify the process and post one mock draft that is final.

The NFL Draft’s first round is this Thursday, April 27th in primetime on ESPN and the NFL Network.

Many are wondering if the Cleveland Browns will take who we all assume is the best player in the draft, DE Myles Garrett from Texas A&M, or go with a quarterback like Mitchell Trubisky from North Carolina…or go completely off the rails with another choice. We would probably not wonder so much if any other team than the Browns held the first overall pick.

How many quarterbacks will be taken in the first round? Any surprises?
