For centuries now, culture remains one of the most powerful social norms in the world.  From dress codes, food, festivals, to wide-ranging traditional practices, how else would we talk about a world that reeks of rich diversities?  But, while the hype, frenzies, and thrills of culture keep up interconnect in one way or the other, it is noteworthy that some overwhelming take our excitements into the overdrive.

Indian Culture: An epoch for which we all crave

In the past few decades, India has not only outlived economic expectations of its citizens but also developed into a powerhouse of cultural attractions.  Everyone knows about the Indian Sari, a dressing code that is colorful from far and into the heart of New Delhi. But did you know Indians boat of some of the most captivating cultural shows worldwide, attracting millions every year? A case in point is India Music festivals.  If you are to partake in a work from home writing on this subject, you will probably run out of the count.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: July 2018

July is the month of fireworks, cookouts and San Diego Comic-Con. I know the last one was a bit random, but I’m a nerd that looks forward to watching all the new movie trailers and upcoming toy releases.

Due to the heat and seasonal allergies, I’ve been stuck inside the last few days. It gave me time to really do a deep dive and find some great new music.

I always keep an ear out for new music. I love discovering new bands/songs, it’s a habit from my days as a music journalist. Even though this is mostly a sports blog, I still add quite a bit of music and pop culture content. Keep sending me tracks via email or Twitter.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: June 2018

It’s nearly June and it’s starting to feel like it outside. It has been in the 90’s for nearly a week. I live in Indiana, so it’s pretty noteworthy.

A few years ago, I did a ‘cover song month’ during June. I had a lot of fun doing it, but a lot of work was put into it…and not a lot of sports (or anything else) was covered that month. I threw in a few cover songs on this month’s playlist to pay homage to past Junes.

Most musicians get their start by playing cover songs at live shows. Some venues won’t even book a musician if they don’t play some covers (and hopefully mix in some of their original music). I think it’s important to showcase a musician’s ability to adapt a popular song and make it their own.

The 25 Best Wrestling Entrance Theme Songs of All-time

Great entrance music can help make a superstar. The wrestler will need to back up the hype in the ring and on the microphone, but a great entrance song can go a long way.

Let’s use Bobby Roode as an example. He had a great career in TNA, but that promotion started to die off as Roode was finishing up there. There’s no doubt he would have received a good pop upon his first appearance, but his WWE entrance theme made him look like a damn superstar. It also shows the fans that they were putting ‘the machine’ behind the wrestler, so they will push them as far as they can go.

NXT has been the starting point of some of the songs on this list. I want to credit Triple H as he’s a fan of harder music and no doubt had the final say on the music. I am just thankful Vince doesn’t have his hands in NXT or every guy would be coming out to Flo Rida or Florida Georgia Line songs.

2018 Festivals to Check Out

Summer is almost upon us, and if you’re like most people you’ll be craving barbeques on the beach, road trips with friends and perhaps a decent summer concert. This article offers some inspiration on where to check out this summer if you’re looking for popular music and a great atmosphere.

Of course, all this travel and concert shenanigans can take its toll on your ability to catch the game, which is where a sports schedule maker can come in handy, as this is a handy app you can take with you anywhere.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: May 2018

It’s almost May and we have only had maybe two days over 70 degrees. Spring has been pretty darn brutal. I have a feeling we will just leap into Summer weather soon. The only plus is that my seasonal allergies didn’t kick in until today. I will now be pumped full of Zyrtec until August.

There have been some great music released this Spring. I didn’t have any trouble finding 25 tracks to fill this month’s playlist.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: April 2018

I pumped out so much darn content last month with the NCAA Tournament and all the MLB team previews all falling about the same time. My headphones were glued to my head for most of the month while I was writing.

On top of all the content last month, I tackled the absolute last thing I wanted to do, SEO. It just doesn’t make any sense to me. I just want to ‘do what I do’ on the site, but I guess search engine optimization is a necessary evil when you run a site.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: March 2018

March is a huge month for the site. We pumped out a ton of fantasy baseball posts, MLB team previews and NCAA Tournament game picks. It’s nice to have fresh music to listen to while you’re cranking out tens of thousands of words this coming month.

New music is about to flood your ears as bands gear up for Spring releases/tours. Next month’s playlist should be quite easy to compile.

The 50 Best Hip-Hop Songs of All-Time

I don’t know why I decided to tackle such a huge music genre by doing a ‘best hip-hop songs of all-time’ post.

I planned on doing a top twenty, but it would cut off way too many records. Making the list was a lot of fun, but it took quite awhile to complete. I’m also opening myself up to comments critiquing my picks.

Please critique away, friends.

I didn’t know what exactly to name this post because ‘best’ doesn’t necessarily fit the parameters of this list. I would say this list is more of a ‘most influential’ or even ‘most iconic’ hip-hop songs of all-time. There are a few exclusions to the rule since there are some tracks on here that aren’t really influential or iconic, but are just damn great. I just went with ‘best’ to make it easy.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: February 2018

I usually watch ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ at least once every February. It’s one of my favorite movies. It blew my mind when I first saw it in the theater in February 2004. It still holds up and I recommend everyone give it a watch, or two.

This month’s playlist is pretty damn great. It didn’t take me very long to compile since new music has been finding ME lately. I could have expanded this month’s list by five or ten tracks, but I’m holding a few back in case I’m not so lucky next month.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: January 2018

Not a ton of music is released in December. Bands would most likely release their stuff in November or just wait until after the New Year to put out new music. It’s not a prime time for new music, since most people are just jamming to Mariah Carey’s Christmas album on repeat.

This month’s playlist took me longer to compile than most. I had to dig deep and found a few I overlooked the past two months. I found some gems and was worth the extra work.

2017 Was Our Best Year Ever on AmericasWhiteBoy.com

First off, I want to thank everyone who supported the site this year. If it was just reading a post, following us on Twitter, liking our Facebook page or advertising on AmericasWhiteBoy.com, we appreciate it.

2017 was our most successful year in basically every metric. More people visited our site this year than in any other year. The site has been around in some form for many years (most were back when it was just a blogspot site), so it was nice to see the site’s readership continue to increase. September was our best month ever and I haven’t tallied all the numbers, but I’m pretty sure this season’s NFL & college football betting posts were the most visited of any previous season.

Here are some of this year’s most-visited posts:

I notice you guys still love pretty ladies, so I will make sure to add more ‘Sports Crush‘ posts in 2018.

I can’t thank you guys enough and appreciate every tweet and ‘like’ I receive on social media. I hope to see the site continue to grow and evolve, so keep hitting me up with feedback. I have a few ideas I’m working on for 2018 that I think you guys will enjoy.
