IPFW Upsets #3 Indiana in Overtime

The Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons jumped into Division-I during the 2001-02 season, a year before I attended the school. The school hasn’t beaten a ranked team in their history and have yet to make an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Actually, IPFW is best known for their volleyball program (yes, those exist).

IPFW upset the #3 ranked Indiana Hoosiers tonight in overtime, 71-68.

No one thought IPFW would contend against the Indiana Hoosiers when they were set to play each other at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. It wasn’t a traditional road game for the Hoosiers since the crowd was filled with cream and crimson clad fans.

2016 NCAA Football – Week 12 Betting Picks Against Spread

Picking 25 games every week has its benefits, but it has lead to a few too many weeks where I’m hovering .500. I don’t think I’m going back to picking 20 games, so don’t worry.

I went 12-13 in a difficult week with many top teams falling. I guess I should feel good hitting around .500 this week since I know some people who wiped out this week.

The College Football Playoff is currently a mess. There are a few too many scenarios in which teams that may not make their own conference championship games, could end up in the playoffs.

2016 NCAA Football – Week 6 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 12-12-1 after my bonus five picks decided to turn against me. I did have a few moneyline successes and hit on last week’s big game at Clemson.

This weekend has a full slate of great college football games. There are some games this weekend with massive implications. Some are rivalry games like Oklahoma vs Texas and Miami vs Florida State…and others are just good conference games that could factor into conference titles like Tennessee vs Texas A&M.

2016 NCAA Football – Week 2 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 13-11-1 last week with a few bad beats. I can’t beat myself up about it since Week 1 is always loaded with landmines of risk. I picked some games I should have stayed away from (Houston vs Oklahoma) and didn’t expect such poor outings from Tennessee and UCLA.

As I said before, Week 1 is full of risk, but the following week is loaded with value. You have to take what you learned in Week 1 and use it for your advantage. At the same time, there are times that you kind of have to go against all your information since betting lines are often swayed a little too much if a team outperforms preseason expectations or is underwhelming in Week 1.

2016 March Madness: #5 Indiana vs #12 Chattanooga

We are here to help you fill out your brackets and finally beat your cubicle neighbor in your office pool this year.

The Big Ten is one of the strongest conferences in college basketball. Indiana was expected to contend, but most thought Michigan State would win the regular season. Indiana ended up winning the conference outright, but fell short in the conference tournament.

The Southern Conference is a perennial single-bid conference in the NCAA Tournament. The conference tournament winner has went on to play the role of Cinderella in the past.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 13 Betting Picks Against Spread

One day, I hope to be as happy as Michigan State’s kicker was last week. He went complete ‘Oprah audience member winning a free car’ crazy.

I went 11-9 against the spread last week. Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Iowa are now sitting on top of the College Football Playoff rankings this week. Michigan State and Notre Dame are currently the first two teams left out of the playoff.

I wanted to pick Baylor/TCU and Penn State/Michigan State games, but as of this writing, those lines are currently off the board. I wanted to get this week’s lines out as early as possible due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 12 Betting Picks Against Spread

Last week’s game were a lot of fun to watch. There were a load of tight games, but the Indiana/Michigan topped them all. I love any game in which Jim Harbaugh freaks out on the sideline. I watched the entire game and it was exactly the type of game I expected…completely bonkers.

I went 13-7 last week against the spread. Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame are still sitting at the top of the College Football Playoff rankings this week. Iowa and Oklahoma State need huge games to crack that group.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 11 Betting Picks Against Spread

A few undefeated teams fell last week. Memphis, Michigan State, LSU and TCU all possibly had their championship hopes go down the tubes. The way Michigan State fell had to sting the worst. The referee should have threw a flag for illegal touching.

Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame are currently sit at the top of the College Football Playoff rankings. They technically control their own destiny, but you never know what kind of response the committee will have going forward.

Teams are now trying to become bowl-eligible. It seems like crazy things happen when a team has five wins and needing six.

It finally feels like football weather outside here in Indiana. It’s the exact moment when you get the sudden urge to eat something with pumpkin spice.

Let’s take a moment to discuss the Michigan punter’s error or terror. The look on his face is the perfect reflection of how he feels inside. It was a devastating loss and will go down as one of the most improbable ways to lose a game.

There are some nice matchups this weekend, but it’s the usual lull before the rivalry games kick in the next few weeks.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 6 Betting Picks Against Spread

I’m still hovering around .500 for the year. I once again moved some of my rankings around and think I’ve got a good handle of the lines. Teams are now in their conference schedule, so historical information comes into play more and more as the year moves along

I went 11-9 last week. I really thought Ole Miss and Georgia were the two best teams in the SEC, but they both fell last week. Also, Michigan and California keep surprising me (for good and bad reasons).

2015 NCAA Football – Week 5 Betting Picks Against Spread

I’ve been hovering around .500 so far this year. I have moved some of my rankings around and hope to have a big week. Most teams are now into their conference schedule, so there will be less spreads of 30+ and we have some historical information to help our picks.

I went 9-10-1 last week. I whiffed on BYU/Michigan and a couple others. I felt some of the picks were ‘smart’, but they did not hit. A few balls fell in the other direction in those games.

2015 College Football: All-Name Team

What makes a great college football name?

If it works as a potential pro wrestling name, it works in college football.

We went through all the teams in the top two divisions in the NCAA. We read every name and picked out the ones that were funny and names we just wish we had.

My name is Bobby Roberts, so of all the people who can write a post poking fun at names, it’s me. I’m always asked if my real name is Robert Roberts (it’s not) or if my name is fake.
