2016 MLB Season Preview: Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves are cleaning house. They pulled off possibly the most lopsided trade this offseason when they shipped Shelby Miller to Arizona for Ender Inciarte, former #1 overall pick Dansby Swanson and pitching prospect Aaron Blair. If they can pull off a few more trades like that, their rebuilding time will be shortened.

2016 will not be kind to the Braves. Their team is filled with underwhelming bats and many wild, young arms.

Fredi Gonzalez is still Atlanta’s skipper, but his seat is the hottest in the Majors. He won’t last until the All-Star Break.

2016 MLB Season Preview: Arizona Diamondbacks

Chip Hale had a decent first year as Arizona’s manager. They overachieved last season and went on to make some bold moves this offseason.

The Diamondbacks started the offseason by out-bidding the entire league to sign pitcher Zack Greinke. They followed that mega-deal by trading former #1 overall draft pick Dansby Swanson and other prospects to Atlanta for pitcher Shelby Miller. They appear to be figuratively swinging for the fences.

Will Arizona’s big spending pay off this season?

How will Greinke and Miller fare at the top of the rotation?

Pac 12 Basketball: Who will Win the Regular Season Crown?

Pac 12 basketball championship is always a competitive with many teams going for nothing less than the title. We all know that this season is definitely no exception after the preparation the teams have undergone. Shane McMahon Saved Wrestlemania 32

Wrestlemania 32 is scheduled to take place on April 3rd and it needs to fill AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

Up until now, the outlook on the event was meager at best. Many stars are out with injuries and won’t be back in time for Mania.

Also, the ratings have been in the tank. I guess with the WWE Network, it’s not as important as in the past, but it’s still pretty darn important.

Don’t get me started on WWE’s stock price…it has not exactly been bullish.

Nevermind, forget everything I just wrote.

Wrestlemania 32 may have just been saved by a 46-year-old man.

Tough Decisions for this Year’s NFL Draft

The end of the Super Bowl a few weeks ago marked the beginning of the NFL offseason. Now, all 32 NFL teams will be trying to improve their teams through the NFL Draft, which takes place in April. Another Year, Another Boring NBA Trade Deadline

I’m not sure why I always feel a rush of anticipation when the NBA trade deadline approaches.

We hear all these juicy rumors of big names being shopped around and more times than not, the deals never materialize.

In the days approaching Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, we heard names like Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin and Kevin Love being discussed in mega-trades. Those guys are still with their original teams and guys like Chu Chu Maduabum, who isn’t even employed anywhere in the world right now, were involved in trades.

Chris Bosh’s Season Might Be Over

Chris Bosh sat out NBA All-Star Weekend, but did travel to attend events in Toronto. He seemed in good spirits, but there must have been a cloud hanging over his head.

Bosh is officially listed as being out with a strained calf. There’s usually no red flag associated with such a minor injury. Well, there could be more to this injury.

The rumor coming out of All-Star Weekend is that Bosh is once again dealing with a very serious blood clot issue. It was almost exactly a year ago that doctors found blood clots in one of his lungs last season.

Bosh missed the remainder of the 2014-15 season. His season this year could as well be over if doctors find more blood clots in the power forward. Blood clots are serious and could have life-altering effects.

Will Braun Strowman Succeed in WWE?

We at America’s White Boy are huge fans of the WWE and professional wrestling as a whole. I myself have been a fan since I can remember. I went to my first show when I was barely old enough to go to school.

We like to write about the potential of either new wrestlers or new stables. We wrote something about The Wyatt Family a few years ago and after a failed attempt by the WWE to break up the stable, they are now stronger than ever. They have recently added a new wrestler to the ‘family’, Braun Strowman.

He’s huge (6’8) and a former strongman. He has all the makings of a future monster in the WWE.

Strowman is an anomaly in the ‘NXT Era’ since he never appeared on NXT television, but did work house shows and train at the WWE Performance Center.

Best Bets: Early 2016 World Series Futures

Pitchers and catchers are due to report in baseball within the next two weeks. Online Sportsbooks haven’t put out over/under win totals yet, but they are due relatively soon.

Until win totals are released, World Series championship futures are fun to speculate.

If you can wait nine months for a payout, there’s plenty of value to be found.

The Cubs are by far the overall favorites to win the 2016 World Series with a +450 payout. The next in line are the Dodgers (+1200) and Mets (+1200).

Review: “Super Bowl Gold: 50 Years of the Big Game”

I’m a sucker for books with beautiful pictures. I’ve been his way since I was young, not because I hated to read, but because a beautiful photo can sometimes say what words cannot describe.

The editors of Sports Illustrated has put out a book called “Super Bowl Gold: 50 Years of the Big Game”. It’s everything you have come to expect from Sports Illustrated, but in a fantastically laid-out book.

If you’re a fan of the NFL and want to fondly remember some of the best pictures and detailed descriptions from the Big Game over the years, this is a perfect book to sit on your coffee table.

Can the Carolina Panthers go undefeated this season?

After eleven games, the Carolina Panthers have won eleven successive contests and look an absolute shoo-in to finish as the number one seed in the NFC. Quarterback Cam Newton has been sensational throughout the early stages of the campaign and is producing brilliant moments on offense despite losing primary wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin to a season-ending injury in the summer.

On current form, the Panthers look well placed to challenge for a place in the Super Bowl and will fancy their chances of success in front of their home fans. In fact, Carolina haven’t lost in the regular season for over a year now – an impressive feat.
