The Kings Have No Idea What They Are Doing

DeMarcus Cousins trade New Orleans Pelicans Sacramento Kings NBA hot stoveThe Sacramento Kings keep showing the world how NOT to run an NBA team.

Owner Vivek Ranadive was supposed to bring life to the stagnant Kings franchise, but since he took over ownership a few years ago, they just keep making huge mistakes.

The Kings agreed to trade potential franchise cornerstone DeMarcus Cousins (and Omri Casspi and a second-round 2017 pick) to the New Orleans Pelicans for rookie Buddy Hield, former Kings player Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway and a top-three protected first-round pick.

I realize Cousins was a cancer in the Kings locker room, but I think he’s at a level that a team in Sacramento’s current situation should exhaust all attempts to appease him. I realize that the Kings were going to have to pony up a huge contract extension soon, but I think this trade was a huge mistake.

Outdoor Activities Worth Getting Out Of Bed For

Muggle QuidditchThe problem with trying to get fit is you are also trying to battle something incredibly boring. If something is fun then you’re more likely to do it. For example, how is it that you know all the lyrics to Rapper’s Delight by The Sugarhill Gang, yet don’t know the Periodic Table. Simple. The Periodic Table is so boring. So, what happens when you apply the same rules to getting fit? Well, you find yourself taking part in some totally alternative activities that grow your smile while shrinking your waistline. Now that is a winning situation. Smiling and sweating, something that was once an oxymoron, and yet now a reality, and one that will let you remain as far away from a serious sportsman as you want.

Quidditch

Okay, so there is no flying in the real sense of the term, but there is a chance to use your imagination in the same way you probably did when you were a kid. Also, who doesn’t want to play Quidditch (except for Piers Morgan who claims to never have read Harry Potter simply because he doesn’t want to concede to JK Rowling)? It may be embarrassing, but it is definitely going to make you smile. Just the names of equipment is going to make you smile, as you run around chasing after Quaffles and Bludgers and Snitches and all sorts. That’s our favourite bit, the Snitch. In the books and the films, it is a little gold ball that has wings and darts about so fast that the Seekers have a real job just keeping their ye on it, nevermind catching it. But, oh no, not in real-life Quidditch, where the Snitch is a tennis ball in a sock that gets tucked into The Snitch Runner’s shorts, who then has to run away from the Seekers. Continue reading

2017 NBA All-Star Weekend Betting Odds & Picks

King Cake Baby NBA All Star Game 2017 betting oddsNBA All-Star Weekend is a fun time for NBA players to bask in their fame and rub elbows with celebrities. The game itself is usually high-scoring, but doesn’t get competitive until the fourth quarter, if it is close at all.

Some may even say the highlight of the weekend is the skills competitions that take place on Saturday night. The Slam Dunk competition has a few names in it, but nothing like the stars that would enter in its golden era. The three-point competition is probably my favorite competition of the night since there’s rarely ever something new tried in the dunk contest these days.

We list the betting odds for the All-Star Game MVP, Dunk Contest, Three-Point Competition, Rising Stars Game MVP and Skills competition winners. We also pick some winners for the prop bets.

Can D-League rookie Derrick Jones Jr. win the Slam Dunk Contest?

Awesome Benefits Of Playing More Golf

golfawesomeGolf is one of the sports that you are either into or not – but there are some compelling reasons why everyone should be hitting the course on a regular basis. Let’s take a look at some of the amazing benefits of starting and playing more golf – and hopefully, we’ll persuade you to take some time out and start making waves on the fairway.

Physical fitness

There’s a lot of walking involved in golf, of course – as long as you avoid cheating and using the golf trucks that are becoming a more common sight on the nation’s courses. And it’s great for keeping you fit and giving you a healthy dose of fresh air But according to healthfitnessrevolution.com, there is more physical exercise involved in golf than you might think. Every swing uses your arms, legs, back and abdomen, and when you consider how many times you smash a ball over 18 holes, it’s clear that golf isn’t just a relaxing stroll in the park. 10 Wrestlers Who Should be in the WWE Hall of Fame

CHYNAIt’s officially Wrestlemania season.

Wrestlemania 33 is in Orlando this year, a very familiar area to WWE. This year’s show will feature some of the best wrestlers in the world and they even got a legend like Goldberg to come back.

A lot happens the weekend of Wrestlemania. Many indie promotions run shows in the area since there are tens of thousands of fans in that area, so why not? WWE also runs an Axxess fan festival, NXT Takeover show and the WWE Hall of Fame.

A few people have already been announced to be in this year’s Hall of Fame class (Kurt Angle, Rock N Roll Express & Teddy Long) and a few are strongly rumored like Rick Rude, Diamond Dallas Page and William Regal, so I will not include them on this list.

On Your Bike! Why Cycling Is The Perfect Sport To Get Into This Year

cycling-655565_960_720It’s not always easy trying to find the right sport for you. That sport that you can both enjoy and will keep you active. After all, not everyone is going to be really great at a sport that they love. The biggest football fan in the world might still never make it past the twenty-yard line without fumbling the ball and getting taken down. Not only that but there are a lot of sports that require you to buy some pretty expensive equipment or require the use of specialized courts that not everyone has access to. But many of us love a sport so much that we want to really get into and understand it, this means getting involved in it ourselves as well as enjoying the events and culture surrounding it. And there’s one sport that is an absolutely fantastic option for this: cycling. Cycling is one of the best sports out there for both watching and for enjoying yourself and it keeps getting more and more popular every single year. But don’t just take my word for it, here are a few reasons why cycling definitely needs to be the sport that you take up this year.

So, You Want To Be A Baseball Player?

126171642-56a2f5ba5f9b58b7d0cfe053As far as American sports go, there isn’t really one that’s more famous than baseball. It has become known as the ‘national pastime‘ and has been around for hundreds of years – it is said to have originated just before the American Civil War, where it was originally the game of rounders. As rounder developed into the game of cricket for the British, the Americans took the classic game and with it, baseball was born. Now, it is a sport played all over the country at many different levels, and it is loved and adored by people of all kinds of backgrounds. If you are someone who has been thinking about playing baseball, good for you! Anything that gets you fit and moving is something to be celebrated, and the friendships you can make from a team sport like baseball are very valuable. Here’s how you can step out onto the pitch as a total novice – Babe Ruth had better watch out!

UCLA Basketball Recruit Scores 92 in High School Game

LaMelo Ball UCLA Bruins basketball sportsLaMelo Bell, a sophomore at Chino Hills HS (California), put up 92 points in a regulation high school basketball game tonight. His older brother LiAngelo, who is a senior, sat on the bench while resting up before the playoffs start. Both are expected to eventually take the same path as their older brother Lonzo, who is currently lighting up college basketball at UCLA.

LaMelo took 61 shots tonight and was a beast close to the rim. He did hit seven three-pointers, but the bulk of his points came close in Chino Hills’ uptempo, fast break offense.

Chino Hills had a 60-game winning streak before losing to powerhouse Oak Hill. Their next game following the loss was against Los Osos tonight, so Ball took his anger out on them and won the game 146-123.

Super Bowl 51 – Betting Picks Against Spread & Prop Bets

Super_Bowl_51_LI_Logo_0I LOVE prop bets. I actually get more joy out of betting Super Bowl prop bets than betting against the spread. Yes, most are a crap shoot, but with the right research, you can end up winning bets with very favorable odds.

I’m not saying you can research who will win the coin toss, but there are many other player and team prop bets out there that have nice odds.

Some prop bets aren’t worth the money (the vig isn’t worth the slight risk), but sometimes you just have to lay a few bucks down, cross your fingers and wish for the best.

I picked out some of the most popular (and the most absurd) prop bets for Super Bowl 51. We also pick the game against the spread.

Have the Pacers Finally Found Their Starting Five?

CJ Miles Indiana Pacers NBA 2017The Indiana Pacers have won four-straight games after defeating their former head coach at Orlando 98-88. They are now 26-22 and sit as the sixth-best team in the Eastern Conference.

The Pacers started out the year with a starting five of Paul George, Myles Turner, Jeff Teague, Thaddeus Young and Monta Ellis. The lineup didn’t change much the first two months, but Ellis went down with an injury. Glenn Robinson III took over his spot in the starting rotation and flourished in that role.

The Pacers eventually went on a losing skid with Robinson in the starting five, so Indiana turned to C.J. Miles. He has done well in the past  when leaned on to start games. He has done the job during their winning streak.

Do the Pacers finally have a starting lineup set in stone going forward?

2017 College Football Signing Day: All-Name Team

We have made lists of great names in college basketball and football over the years. We even once made an all-name team list for the MLB Amateur Draft.

I was planning on doing the same for college football signing day, but nothing will ever top Kobe Buffalomeat…so he’s the only name on the list.

Three Players Elected Into Baseball Hall of Fame

Tim Raines Rock 2017 Baseball Hall of Fame Montreal ExposThe Baseball Writers’ Association of America revealed the results of their Hall of Fame vote this afternoon. Three former MLB players earned induction into this year’s Hall of Fame class.

Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines and Ivan Rodriguez received more than the 75% threshold to earn induction. Bagwell and Raines have been on the ballot for quite awhile, but Pudge earned his election on his first time on the ballot.

There were plenty of players that fell short of the 75% threshold and one player surprised most people by falling short of receiving 5% of the vote to stay on the ballot.
