The Utah Blaze is a team in the Arena Football League (oh, that AFL still exists?). Utah’s LaVaughn Macon runs a kickoff return for a touchdown in a 48-46 win over the Cleveland Gladiators, then something amazing happens…a teammate knocks him down and proceeds to do the “People’s Elbow” move made popular by WWE superstar The Rock.

10 Awesome Macho Man Art Prints
I recently bought a couple art prints on Etsy. I bought two prints from artist Rob Osborne, one was of musician (and life role model) Prince and the other was of former pro wrestler Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage. The prints are on high-quality paper and was very pleased with them. They look very nice addition in my office/podcast studio.
I was looking at the items on my wall and I began to wonder if other artists were also inspired by ‘Macho Madness’. It only took a quick Google search to find some gems I would like to share with you and the places where you could buy these prints online.
A few more searches of old school WWE wrestlers were made and Macho Man isn’t the only one whose image has outlived their wrestling career. I will have to write a few posts about those wrestlers in the future, but for now, here are ten awesome Macho Man-inspired art prints. Continue reading
Review – "WWE: Undertaker – The Streak" DVD
The Undertaker has the most impressive winning streak in professional wrestling history. He has won every match he has wrestled in at Wrestlemania. He is a perfect 20-0 and counting.
“WWE: Undertaker – The Streak” is a compilation of every match The Undertaker has ever wrestled at Wrestlemania. The four-disc set is a must-have for any professional wrestling fan. This collection is something a fan could watch for years to come and show it to their children.
If you’re a fan of The Undertaker, buying “The Streak” can save you hundreds of dollars and precious time. You may already own most of the Wrestlemania DVDs, but to watch The Undertaker’s matches, you will not have to locate them and find his match. You will now have every match at your fingertips. If you’re only an The Undertaker fan, you will not have to buy a few of the Wrestlemania DVDs that you wouldn’t normally own (although I recommend buying the WWE’s Wrestlemania box-set). YouTube Gold: "Botchamania"
If you’re a fan of professional wrestling, bloopers and/or 8-bit music, you’ll love the “Botchamania” series on YouTube. There are over 200 episodes so far and they keep getting better. You’ll have to watch a few to understand all of the inside jokes that run during each episode, but you will catch on.
The biggest running joke in ‘Botchamania’ is the non-stop jokes made at the expense of a wrestling promotion called CZW. They run a blooper reel from the promotion during every episode. The CZW section is usually filled with a lot of ‘JESUS!’ screams. Other running jokes include Jim Cornette’s poor decisions, Taz and Booker T’s insane commentary, and wrestlers whispering to each other in the ring.
Here are a few episodes to whet your appetite…after the jump.
Ric Flair to Appear at ICP’s "Gathering of the Juggalos"
Ric Flair is the most famous heel in professional wrestling history, but he’s currently out of a job. TNA Wrestling recently parted ways with him.
At 63, his professional wrestling options are limited. WWE and TNA find themselves in the middle of a legal battle and WWE is currently staying away from “The Nature Boy” until that calms down.
In major need of a paycheck, Flair has agreed to appear at the Insane Clown Posse’s yearly “Gathering of the Juggalos” from August 8th – 12th in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois. Continue reading
Review: WWE Allied Powers DVD & Summer Slam Anthology DVD
We promised you plenty of reviews this week and here is a double dose for your eyes. WWE Entertainment recently provided us with a few DVDs to review and they were great. “Allied Powers: The World’s Greatest Tag Teams” DVD set is full of nostalgic and current WWE tag teams. The commentary of the series was done by John Morrison and The Miz, and Bill Simmons was right, there is a lot of unintentional comedy.
The “Allied Powers” set is three-discs long and has so many good matches. You have matches by Degeneration X, The Hart Foundation, The Killer Bees, The Kozlov Brothers, Demolition, The Fabulous Freebirds, The Legion of Doom, The Smoking Gunns, The Dudley Boys, and many more. You have pretty much any notable tag team from AWA, WCW, WWE, ECW, and World Class Wrestling. There are plenty of matches and also a lot of highlights featuring certain tag teams. You can really get lost watching the matches, I wanted to go grab my WWF thumb-wrestlers and re-create a matches with my Hillbilly Jim and Junkyard Dog figures. Okay, not really, but it’s a must-buy for any WWE fan that has watched wrestling for any amount of years. Continue reading
