2019 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 10

kyler murray dotted finalWe have a whopping six teams on bye this week.

The Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans have the week off. There are a few fantasy studs in that group that will be hard to replace.

You could be a tough position if you’re missing a few of your starters while on bye. You may need to trust a player you’ve never played before, so do your research and pay attention to the injury reports during the week.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 10 of the 2019 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

START’EM

  • QB Jameis Winston (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – The Bucs play the Cardinals this Sunday and I believe both quarterbacks should fare well as they face weak defenses. Winston was going strong until he coughed up an infinite number of turnovers against the Panthers a few weeks back. He should get things back on track against the Cardinals. I also expect WR Mike Evans to have another monster game.
  • WR Zach Pascal (Indianapolis Colts) – The Colts don’t use their tight ends as much as last season, but it’s mostly because their wide receivers are now better. Pascal has stepped up into WR2 for the Colts while Devin Funchess is out and Parris Campbell still isn’t quite ready for that role. Pascal turns into the #1 option when T.Y. Hilton is out, and he will be out for the next few games due to a calf injury. Pascal is a must-start this week against the Dolphins.
  • RB Jaylen Samuels (Pittsburgh Steelers) – Pittsburgh appears that they want to use their running backs in different roles. Samuels is the pass-catching running back and James Conner just runs the rock. Samuels could become a nice PPR RB gem if the Steelers keep throwing the ball his way.
  • QB Ryan Tannehill (Tennessee Titans) – The Titans face the Chiefs and Tannehill could be a nice streaming option if your QB1 is on bye. The Chiefs passing defense is average and Tannehill could have a top-ten fantasy week.
  • Indianapolis Colts Defense & Special Teams – The Colts face the Dolphins, who have played a lot better since their bye week. That should come to an end since the Colts defense is legit. The Dolphins haven’t faced a defense as good since they faced the Patriots.
  • RB Devin Singletary (Buffalo Bills) -The Bills are giving Singletary a bigger role in their offense. He has had more touches than RB Frank Gore the last two weeks. The Browns have struggled against the runs during this rough stretch of losses. The Bills are expected to run the ball quite a bit against the Browns whose secondary is something QB Josh Allen may want to avoid.
  • WR Emmanuel Sanders (San Francisco 49ers) – Sanders has emerged as the #1 option in San Francisco. He has made QB Jimmy Garoppolo look better and the Niners may be the best overall team in the NFC. They play a very good team against Seattle, but Sanders should still shine on Monday.
  • TE Gerald Everett (Los Angeles Rams) – Tight end is already pretty thin and this week’s byes are a killer. Everett is an automatic-start. The Steelers are a good opponent for opposing tight ends. He should have a solid fantasy week.
  • QB Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals) – The Bucs have let a lot of opposing quarterbacks light them up this season. A few even had their best game of the season (so far). I think Murray could do some damage through the air and on the ground against Tampa Bay. He should be owned and started this week.
  • TE Kyle Rudolph (Minnesota Vikings) – Rudolph hasn’t been great in fantasy this season. Most of that may have been how bad QB Kirk Cousins was early this season. He’s starting to get more and more targets and due to all the teams on bye this week, he’s worth a look.
  • Los Angeles Rams Defense & Special Teams – The Rams face the Steelers this weekend. Pittsburgh’s offense has been better since QB Mason Rudolph came back from his concussion. I still think the Rams have too many playmakers on defense and will have a good fantasy week.
  • RB Mark Ingram (Baltimore Ravens) – I expect the Ravens could have a pretty big lead against the Bengals. If so, they will spam Ingram the ball and save any big hits on QB Lamar Jackson. Even if the big lead doesn’t happen, I think Ingram will get some work in the redzone.
  • WR Golden Tate (New York Giants) – The Giants face the Jets, whose secondary is one of the worst in the NFL right now. Tate is one of the best slot receivers playing this week and should be started in all leagues.

SIT’EM

  • RB Kenyan Drake (Arizona Cardinals) – Drake really came out of the gate running for the Cardinals. It appears that RB David Johnson could be back this week and Drake will be his backup. I wouldn’t jump to add Drake since he won’t nearly get the same level of touches.
  • WR Tyler Boyd (Cincinnati Bengals) – It’s unknown how well Bengals rookie QB Ryan Finley will do in his first start. I think Boyd will be paired with Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey. Boyd didn’t do well the first time they met and I doubt Finley will be a huge difference.
  • QB Baker Mayfield (Cleveland Browns) – Mayfield is having a rough year for the Browns. I’ve listed Mayfield in this section a few times this year and I haven’t been wrong. He faces a tough Bills defense and I don’t have any faith he will be worth a start in fantasy.
  • RB Kalen Ballage (Miami Dolphins) – Dolphins RB Mark Walton is serving his suspension and Ballage will be the #1 running option in Miami. The Colts are a hard team to run against and Ballage could have a disastrous week.
  • WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (Pittsburgh Steelers) – JuJu will be covered by Rams CB Jalen Ramsey. I’m sure fantasy owners will start him anyways due to so many teams being out on bye, but I don’t see him having a very good week against Ramsey.
  • TE Jimmy Graham (Green Bay Packers) – I’m sure a ton of people will go and pick up Graham to start on such a thin week at tight end. I don’t see him producing more than just a couple points against the Panthers. Carolina is tough against opposing tight ends and is a bad match-up.
  • Los Angeles Chargers Defense & Special Teams – The Chargers face the Raiders on Thursday. I hate starting defenses on a short week and I avoid it like the plague. I’d try to find another defense, even though they were money last week.
  • QB Mitchell Trubisky (Chicago Bears) – The Bears face a tough opponent in the Lions this week. Detroit has legit playmakers in the secondary and it will be a tough week for Trubisky. It would be smart for the Bears to feed RB David Montgomery the ball, a lot.
  • WR Robby Anderson (New York Jets) – I’ve listed Anderson in this section plenty times over the last two years. He’s an all-or-nothing receiver and is coming off bad performances against the Patriots and Jaguars. He won’t be open enough deep against the Giants.
