2017 NBA Draft – Best Undrafted Players

The NBA Draft is only two rounds and consists of a total of 60 picks, so not every good college basketball player will hear his name called during the NBA Draft.

There are still some very good players left to either sign for an NBA team’s Summer League spot in hopes of catching on with a team. Most will probably end up in the Gatorade League (former D-League) or play overseas.

I’m sure people who love ‘their team’ always wonder why the star of their team didn’t even play a single minute in the NBA.

The Draft is a tricky thing. There are only two rounds, so a lot of teams teams draft for need. There are also teams who draft people overseas to stash for a couple years.

This is not the end of the road for these players. There are many undrafted players in the NBA, so a few of these guys will still make their dreams come true in the future.

‘America’s White Boy’ 2017 NBA Mock Draft

Markelle Fultz Lonzo Ball NBA Mock Draft 2017Just like we did for the NFL Draft, we are here to release our 2017 NBA Mock Draft.

A lot can change before June 22nd. Many expect the Celtics and Lakers to get plenty of calls until then. The biggest possible trade that could happen could be the Pacers trading Paul George to the Celtics for a large package of prospects and the #1 overall pick. Will it happen? I’d say there’s only about a 20% chance right now.

Here is the ‘America’s White Boy’ 2017 NBA Mock Draft.

1. Boston Celtics – Markelle Fultz – PG – Washington Huskies – Fultz is the consensus best player in the draft. Even though Washington was a bad team last year, it should bring up too many red flags. In baseball, they call a prospect that can do everything a ‘five-tool player’…and Fultz is the equivalent in basketball. He has hops, he can shoot, he is very good defensively and has the size for his position. It will be interesting to see how he will play with Isaiah Thomas, but it can be done. This pick is very desirable, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Boston gets a mother lode for it if they trade it.

2016 NCAA Football – Week 2 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 13-11-1 last week with a few bad beats. I can’t beat myself up about it since Week 1 is always loaded with landmines of risk. I picked some games I should have stayed away from (Houston vs Oklahoma) and didn’t expect such poor outings from Tennessee and UCLA.

As I said before, Week 1 is full of risk, but the following week is loaded with value. You have to take what you learned in Week 1 and use it for your advantage. At the same time, there are times that you kind of have to go against all your information since betting lines are often swayed a little too much if a team outperforms preseason expectations or is underwhelming in Week 1.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (September 10th, 2016) and a few Thursday games. We also picked five extra games as a bonus.

2016 NFL Draft – Best Undrafted Players

jake coker alabama crimson tide 2016 nfl draft best undrafted playersNFL teams are really good at scouting players for the NFL Draft, but every single year, a handful of talented players fall through the cracks. They sign contracts soon after the draft ends and go on to make a difference in the NFL.

Players like Tony Romo, Arian Foster, Wes Welker and James Harrison are four studs that went undrafted. I’m not sure if anyone on this list will go on to be a Hall of Famer, but it could happen.

This list is usually made up of players from small schools, there are still plenty of those on this year’s list, but some good players for major programs went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft.

2016 March Madness: #4 Duke vs #13 UNC-Wilmington

grayson allen sad duke blue devils unc-wilmington seahawks 2016 ncaa tournamentWe are here to help you fill out your brackets and finally beat your cubicle neighbor in your office pool this year.

The ACC was top-heavy this year. Virginia and North Carolina hogged much of the spotlight and accolades. Duke did have their share of success, but the defending champs haven’t looked very ‘Duke-ish’ at points this season.

The Colonial Athletic Association is usually a single-bid conference in the NCAA Tournament. A few teams from the conference have played Cinderella in the past.

Could UNC-Wilmington wear the glass slipper?

Who do you think will win? We help you fill out your bracket.

2015 NCAA Football – Week 10 Betting Picks Against Spread

duke miami football lateral touchdown 2015The college football season has been pretty great so far. There are plenty of undefeated teams still left, but that will likely change very soon. Teams will start cannibalizing each other, especially in conference championship games.

The first College Football Playoff poll was announced last weekend. There were some surprises, especially with Clemson getting the #1 spot. I’ve been high on them lately, but it was still quite the surprise.

Rivalry games have started across college football. There are some games this weekend that have fanbases foaming at the mouth.

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (November 7th, 2015), and pick some smaller conference games as well. Enjoy!

2015 NCAA Football – Week 9 Betting Picks Against Spread

kidney stones funny ben parks and rec adam scottSo, I’ve been dealing with a bout of ‘get these f***ing kidney stones out of me’ pain the last few days. I have been unable to sit down and do my write up until this evening, but I’ve been studying matchups and trends all week.

I needed to cut this week’s post down quite a bit, since I can’t stomach sitting up in a chair for a long time. I still picked 20 games against the spread, but the format is just the ‘Quick Picks’ that I usually save for the end of my weekly column.

I will try to get next week’s column up in a timely manner…kidney stone or not!

2015 NCAA Football – Week 8 Betting Picks Against Spread

funny michigan punter 2015 michigan state game fumbleIt finally feels like football weather outside here in Indiana. It’s the exact moment when you get the sudden urge to eat something with pumpkin spice.

Let’s take a moment to discuss the Michigan punter’s error or terror. The look on his face is the perfect reflection of how he feels inside. It was a devastating loss and will go down as one of the most improbable ways to lose a game.

There are some nice matchups this weekend, but it’s the usual lull before the rivalry games kick in the next few weeks.

2014 NCAA Football – Week 12 Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 12-8 last week, but I missed the Notre Dame game pretty bad. I admit my failures and oh boy, that one was a big one. My record is now 110-86-3 on the season.

Frigid temperatures are expected to hit across the heart of the country this weekend. Make sure to check the forecast before you lay your bets down. I don’t see any snow, but temps in the 30’s are likely (unless you live on the West Coast or the South…I’m sure those places will still be beautiful).

We were 134-79-8 against the spread betting on college football games last season. We hope to keep it going and help you guys out again this season.

We pick against the spread for all the big college football games on Saturday (November 15th, 2014), and picked some smaller conference games as well. Enjoy!

I haven’t heard much about the weather being a huge issue this weekend. It is expected to rain in the Midwest. The weather isn’t expected to fall below 33 degrees, but check the national weather map as Saturday approaches.

2014 NCAA Football – Week 10 Betting Picks Against Spread

I felt pretty good about going 11-8-1 last week. I called a few nice upsets and missed a couple by a single point. My glaring mistake was picking against TCU (oops). My record is now 85-71-3 on the season.

I haven’t heard much about the weather being a huge issue this weekend. It is supposed to be the 40’s in the Midwest, so if any Southern teams have to do some traveling, it could be a shock to their system, but it’s nothing that would deter production.
