2022 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 16

We only have a few more weeks left of the season.

I’m thinking about ending my fantasy picks after next week. Week 18 is such an unpredictable week due to playoff scenarios and teams resting their starters. It’s just a crap shoot and you’re probably not looking for waiver wire pickups in the final week of the regular season.

We are starting to find some new fantasy football waiver wire targets who are on very bad teams. I would suggest looking at players like Texans WR Chris Moore.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 16 of the 2022 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

START’EM

  • QB Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins) – Tua may not be lighting up the league as he was earlier this season, but I like his matchup against the Packers. He is worth a start this week.
  • WR Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – Evans is getting the yards, but I rarely see him on many fantasy start lists. The Bucs offense isn’t great right now, but Evans is putting together a solid second-half of the season.
  • TE George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers) – Kittle is finding the endzone with QB Brock Purdy. Kittle has less competition for targets now that WR Deebo Samuel is out.
  • RB Jerick McKinnon (Kansas City Chiefs) – McKinnon plays on passing downs and is doing some damage. He has been on fire the last two weeks.
  • QB Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings) – Last week, the Vikings had an all-time bad first-half. Cousins had an outstanding second-half and completed the large comeback in history. He faces the Giants this week and the Cousins may need to throw a lot. His defense gives up a lot of points.
  • Baltimore Ravens Defense & Special Teams – The Ravens are a nice streaming defense this week. The Falcons offense hasn’t looked great with QB Desmond Ridder.
  • RB Alvin Kamara (New Orleans Saints) – Kamara hasn’t been a consistent fantasy running back, but I like this week’s matchup against the Browns. He has a great opportunity for a bounce-back performance.
  • WR Chris Moore (Houston Texans) – Moore is turning into a ‘good fantasy player on a bad team.’ The Texans are racking up injuries in their backfield. They may need to focus on the pass more. Moore is dealing with a foot injury, but it looks like he will play.
  • RB J.K. Dobbins (Baltimore Ravens) – Dobbins hasn’t been 100% all season. He was outstanding last week, but he will have to split carries with other Ravens backs. He is the only running back you want on the Ravens.
  • TE Darren Waller (Las Vegas Raiders) – Waller is back in uniform and it’s hard to deny his skills. I don’t like QB Derek Carr this week, but if they get into the red zone, Waller is a huge target.
  • WR Zay Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars)Jones has been a favorite target of QB Trevor Lawrence. It’s possible Jets CB Sauce Gardner could be draped on him, but I think it’s more likely WR Christian Kirk will get Gardner duty this week.
  • RB Tyler Allgeier (Atlanta Falcons) – The Falcons are clearly not a passing offense right now. Allgeier racked up 139 yards against the Saints and it was QB Desmond Ridder’s first start. He is splitting carries with QB Cordarrelle Patterson, so if you need a flex, Allgeier is a nice option.
  • Los Angeles Chargers Defense & Special Teams – The Colts offense was awful against the Vikings. They only racked up all those points in the first-half because of Vikings offensive mistakes. The Chargers should limit the Jonathan Taylor-less Colts offense on Monday night.
  • QB Daniel Jones (New York Giants) – As I said above, the Vikings give up a lot of points and Jones could be in for a solid outing.

SIT’EM

  • RB Brian Robinson (Washington Commanders) – It’s hard to start a running back who faces the Niners right now. They’ve been brutal towards opposing running backs.
  • QB Derek Carr (Las Vegas Raiders)  – Carr faces a healthy Steelers defense this weekend. They’ve been great of late and Carr may not have much time in the pocket.
  • Every Tennessee Titans Wide ReceiverThe Titans are starting rookie QB Malik Willis for the foreseeable future. In his previous starts, the young quarterback barely cracked double-digit passing attempts.
  • RB D’Onta Foreman (Carolina Panthers) – Foreman was awful last week and I fear defenses have adjusted to him.
  • QB Deshaun Watson (Cleveland Browns) – The Saints defense got to the quarterback fives times last week. Watson will see a lot of pressure this weekend.
  • WR Marquise Brown (Arizona Cardinals) – Due to injuries, the Cardinals are slated to start third-string QB Trace McSorely. He’s a mobile quarterback and I don’t expect him to throw more than 20 times this weekend…and I assume more of those will be to WR DeAndre Hopkins.
  • TE Cole Kmet (Chicago Bears) – Kmet is getting targets, but I don’t think he will be very successful against the Bills. They have bottled opposing tight ends this year.
  • Green Bay Packers & Special Teams – The Packers will struggle against the Dolphins. It’s a bad matchup on paper.
  • TE Tyler Conklin (New York Jets) – Conklin is losing snaps to TE C.J. Uzomah, it’s tough to see.
  • New England Patriots Defense & Special Teams – I would stay away from any defense that goes up against Joe Burrow. The Bucs had some success last week, but I don’t think the Patriots have the personnel on defense to keep the Bengals from scoring less than 24 points.
  • WR Curtis Samuel (Washington Commanders) – Samuel is battling with WR Jahan Dotson for targets. Dotson’s skill-set best suits QB Taylor Heinicke. Samuel is stuck on the wrong team.
