2022 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 14

ryan tannehill dottedWe have a whopping six teams out on bye this week.

The Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints and the Washington Commanders are out on bye. There are some fantasy beasts on those teams, so you could have some big shoes to fill with a streaming option.

This is the final week with byes this year. You should have a nice streamlined lineup after this week. I’m still a fan of streaming a flex and DEF/ST spots the rest of the year.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 14 of the 2022 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Ryan Tannehill of the Tennessee Titans.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

START’EM

  • QB Jared Goff (Detroit Lions) – Goff has become a consistent source of fantasy points. If you’re in need of a one-week streaming option, Goff could be your best bet.
  • WR Rondale Moore (Arizona Cardinals) – The Cardinals offense is better with Moore in the lineup. There is a chance that he could play this week. He’s a speedy slot receiver that can bust a long gain with any catch. He should have single-coverage all game.
  • TE Daniel Bellinger (New York Giants) – The Giants are in need of healthy pass catchers and Bellinger returned from injury at the perfect time. He caught all five targets last week and should get a lot of work going forward.
  • RB Tony Pollard (Dallas Cowboys) – I’ve loved Pollard the last two seasons and he’s rewarding fantasy managers for drafting him late this preseason. He’s a great PPR running back this year.
  • QB Ryan Tannehill (Tennessee Titans) – Tannehill need to be a bigger part of the Titans offense. I’m a little worried about RB Derrick Henry’s body. I think the Titans will give Tannehill more passing attempts against the Jaguars.
  • Las Vegas Raiders Defense & Special Teams – The Raiders are facing the banged-up Rams squad. Their offense is broken without WR Cooper Kupp and QB Matthew Stafford. The Raiders defense should be a nice streaming candidate.
  • RB James Cook (Buffalo Bills) – Cook saw increased snaps against the Patriots and played better than RB Devin Singletary. He’s a nice streaming candidate if you’re looking for a flex play.
  • WR Isaiah McKenzie (Buffalo Bills) – The Bills may struggle against the Jets secondary, but McKenzie should fare well since he shouldn’t have many snaps against Jets CB Sauce Gardner.
  • RB Isiah Pacheco (Kansas City Chiefs) – Pacheco may not rack up a ton of YPC stats, but he’s getting the vast majority of touches in the backfield. He faces a tough Broncos front-seven, but I think he’s worth a start.
  • TE Greg Dulcich (Denver Broncos)The Broncos offense sucks balls right now, but Dulcich is coming off a six-catch, 85-yard performance against the Ravens. He is their lone star on that side of the ball.
  • WR Zay Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars) – Jones let a lot of people down last week. He couldn’t replicate his Week 12 numbers and people may be gun-shy to put him in your lineup again. He is playing a lot of snaps and you should be rewarded against the Titans.
  • RB Cam Akers (Los Angeles Rams) – The Rams offense is a tad broken, literally, but Akers has become the long running back standing for the Rams. He’s getting way more work than RB Kyren Williams and Akers is the red zone back.
  • Cincinnati Bengals Defense & Special Teams – The Bengals host the Browns this week and Cleveland’s offense was pretty horrid in QB Deshaun Watson’s first game back. I am taking a chance and going with the Bengals defense this week.
  • QB Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals) – Burrow is an elite quarterback when he has all of his receivers healthy. The return of WR Ja’Marr Chase was a huge addition last week and I think Burrow will rack up a lot of fantasy points against the Browns.

SIT’EM

  • RB Dameon Pierce (Houston Texans) – Pierce came out of nowhere early this season, but he’s now having trouble against good defenses. The Texans travel to Dallas this week and Pierce could have another rough outing.
  • QB Deshaun Watson (Cleveland Browns) Watson was pretty bad in his first game back. The Browns offense would no doubt run better with QB Jacoby Brissett last week. Watson may struggle against the Bengals this week.
  • WR Jameson Williams (Detroit Lions) – Williams is a talented receiver, but it’s hard for a receiver to play catch-up at this point in the season. The Lions are trying to get into the playoffs and their receiving group is pretty good. Williams may have a hard time getting targets.
  • RB Samaje Perine (Cincinnati Bengals) – Perine has been in great in his relief when RB Joe Mixon went down with an injury. It appears that Mixon will be healthy enough to play this week and I don’t see Perine getting enough touches to be worth a start.
  • QB Mike White (New York Jets) – White has a rough opponent in the Bills this week. He’s a talented quarterback, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable with him in my lineup this weekend.
  • WR D.J. Moore (Carolina Panthers) – Moore is on the wrong team for his skill-set. The Panthers are having quarterback issues and the deep ball isn’t what those quarterbacks excel at throwing.
  • TE Tyler Conklin (New York Jets) – If the Jets started QB Joe Flacco all season, Conklin would have Pro Bowl numbers…but the other Jets quarterbacks just don’t look his way enough.
  • New York Jets Defense & Special Teams – I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but the Jets may have trouble against the Bills this weekend.
  • TE Mike Gesicki (Miami Dolphins) – Gesicki isn’t getting enough targets right now. He’s a talented tight end, but the Dolphins are spamming the ball to WR Tyreek Hill and the other pass catchers are struggling.
  • Minnesota Vikings Defense & Special Teams – The Lions offense is playing well and the Vikings secondary could struggle this week.
  • WR Diontae Johnson (Pittsburgh Steelers)Johnson is dropping too many passes and he faces some studs in the Ravens secondary. The Steelers may have trouble moving the ball through the air, period.
