2022 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 7

daniel jones dottedThere are loads of top-tier fantasy football talent out on bye this week.

The Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles all have the week off.

It’s rare to see a bye week this loaded, as these four teams have some of most talented players in fantasy. You could be in the market to replace WR Justin Jefferson, QB Jalen Hurts, QB Josh Allen or WR A.J. Brown, which are all tall tasks.

Can Daniel Jones be a viable fantasy quarterback against the Jaguars?

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Daniel Jones of the New York Giants.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

START’EM

  • QB Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals)Murray will get WR DeAndre Hopkins back from suspension and the Saints defense hasn’t been great the last few weeks.
  • WR Michael Gallup (Dallas Cowboys) – Cowboys get QB Dak Prescott back and Gallup’s stock is about to rise. They will be passing more and will be more consistent than Rush in his last two starts.
  • TE Robert Tonyan  (Green Bay Packers) – Tonyan has always been a touchdown-or-bust tight end, but he actually got some volume last week against the Jets. He was targeted 12 times in the loss. I don’t see anywhere near that total this week against Washington, but he jumped up a tier.
  • RB Kenneth Walker III (Seattle Seahawks)Walker was great in Seattle’s 19-9 win over the Cardinals. He is explosive and slippery with the ball. He could turn into a fantasy stud soon.
  • QB Daniel Jones (New York Giants) – A lot of top quarterbacks are out on bye and you could be forced to choose an inconsistent QB. Jones played well in the second-half in their win over the Ravens. He is getting some chemistry with his young targets.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense & Special Teams – The Bucs face a depleted Panthers team. I really hate the Carolina right now. The Bucs should get a few turnovers and I don’t see the Panthers putting up many points either.
  • RB Raheem Mostert (Miami Dolphins) – Mostert should continue to see RB1 carries and will have more success against Pittsburgh than he did last week against Miami.
  • WR Alec Pierce (Indianapolis Colts) – Pierce is pretty damn good and could turn into an awesome tandem with Michael Pittman Jr. The Titans secondary has been a mess and Pierce should get some nice targets.
  • RB Breece Hall (New York Jets) – The Jets are better than everyone expected. Michael Carter and Hall are a talented young backfield. I expect the Jets will feed their young backs against a battered Broncos front-seven.
  • TE Daniel Bellinger (New York Giants) – The Giants needed their young targets to step up and Bellinger is doing just that. He is getting increased targets and he found the end zone last week.
  • WR Curtis Samuel (Washington Commanders)Washington is starting QB Taylor Heinicke in place of injured Carson Wentz. He’s not a bad quarterback and you could argue that he might be better than Wentz. He faces the Packers and CB Jaire Alexander will be on WR Terry McLaurin, so Samuel should see targets this week.
  • RB Brian Robinson Jr. (Washington Commanders) – As I said above, Packers CB Jaire Alexander will limit McLaurin all game. They will need to run the ball and be more creative with Heinicke under center.
  • New York Jets Defense & Special Teams – Denver isn’t much of a threat to score a lot of points this season. I also really like Jets CB Sauce Gardner right now.
  • QB Jared Goff (Detroit Lions) – This is a risky start, but Goff could move the ball on the Cowboys. We all know Dallas takes a lot of chances in their secondary to force turnovers. Goff could connect with a few big passes if Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs bites too early.

SIT’EM

  • RB Tyler Allgeier (Atlanta Falcons) – The Falcons have a crowded backfield and I don’t see a gem in the bunch. Allgeier will most likely get the most touches, but the split is more equal than I like.
  • QB Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars)  – Lawrence started the year playing great, but his last couple games have been pretty rough. He isn’t converting enough third downs and he is starting to turn the ball over more. He faces the Giants this week, and their secondary has improved greatly since last year.
  • WR Chase Claypool (Pittsburgh Steelers) – Claypool has two things working against him right now. First, rookie QB Kenny Pickett may sit this week due to a concussion. Secondly, he’s the third-best wide receiver and isn’t getting enough targets at the moment.
  • RB David Montgomery (Chicago Bears) – The Patriots will try to make Bears QB Justin Fields throw the ball on Monday Night Football.
  • QB Justin Fields (Chicago Bears) – See above…if Bill Belichick is successful in getting Fields to throw more, interceptions will be aplenty.
  • WR Amari Cooper (Cleveland Browns) – Cooper’s fantasy stock is pretty low at the moment and will only get better when QB Deshaun Watson debuts.
  • TE Zach Ertz (Arizona Cardinals) – Ertz will have trouble finding the end zone against the Saints, who have been great against opposing tight ends this season.
  • New Orleans Saints Defense & Special Teams – I expect a better-than-expected game from the Cardinals. They’ve had some bad outings of late and the return of WR DeAndre Hopkins will give them a much needed boost.
  • TE Tyler Conklin (New York Jets)Conklin isn’t getting the volume of targets with QB Zach Wilson under center. I’d rather go with top-tier touchdown-or-bust tight end right now. Conklin has only received three targets over his last two games.
  • Los Angeles Chargers Defense & Special Teams – I’ve liked the Seahawks offensive schemes the last few weeks. The Chargers aren’t great against the run and they will be getting a lot of RB Kenneth Walker III.
  • WR D.J. Moore (Carolina Panthers)Moore didn’t even know QB Jacob Eason’s name this week, enough said.
