Super Bowl 56 is this Sunday and it’s a prop bets smorgasbord.
I LOVE prop bets. I actually get more joy out of betting Super Bowl prop bets than betting against the spread. Yes, most are a crap shoot, but with the right research, you can end up winning bets with very favorable odds.
I’m not saying you can research who will win the coin toss, but there are many other player and team prop bets out there that have nice odds.
Some prop bets aren’t worth the money (the juice isn’t worth the slight risk), but sometimes you just have to lay a few bucks down, cross your fingers and wish for the best.
I picked out some of the most popular prop bets for Super Bowl 55 (or Super Bowl LV for Roman numeral fans)…and we also pick the game against the spread.
Let me know if you’re betting any of these props. Good luck!
What Color Gatorade Will be Dumped on the Winning Head Coach?
Orange (+130)
Clear/Water (+175)
Lime/Green/Yellow (+300)
Blue (+600)
Red (+1000)
Purple (+1200)
I’m going to with the favorite here. It’s usually orange and it’s rarely any other color. I will forever be curious how purple made the betting odds. I’d rather drink bleach than purple Gatorade.
Prediction: Orange

Coin Toss?
– Heads (-102)
– Tails (-102)
I usually rotate every year and I picked heads last year, so I’ll take tails this year.
Prediction: TAILS

Super Bowl LVI MVP Odds
Matthew Stafford – 5/4
Joe Burrow 11/5
Cooper Kupp 11/2
Aaron Donald 12/1
JaMarr Chase 18/1
Odell Beckham Jr. (20/1)
Cam Akers (30/1)
Joe Mixon (30/1)
Von Miller (35/1)
Tee Higgins (45/1)
Evan McPherson (50/1)
Tyler Boyd (65/1)
Jalen Ramsey (75/1)
Sony Michel (100/1)
Tyler Higbee (100/1)
Van Jefferson (100/1)
I’m going to pick two options here, a ‘likely’ choice and a ‘sleeper’ choice. The likely choice is Matthew Stafford, but t0here isn’t enough juice on the pick for me to lay any money on it. The Burrow odds are more enticing, but I’m not sure if he will survive the Rams defense. I’m going to go with WR Cooper Kupp here. I think he could have a 10+ catch performance in this game.
The sleeper pick is Bengals WR Tyler Boyd. The Rams secondary is great and Burrow could have trouble finding WR JaMarr Chase most of the game. Boyd has good hands and could get open on broken plays and make a big difference.
Prediction: Cooper Kupp (likely) – Tyler Boyd (sleeper)

Total Points – Over/Under
– OVER 48.5 (-110)
– UNDER 48.5 (-110)
I’m not sold that the Bengals will be able to move the ball well against the Rams. Burrow will get some hits and won’t have a lot of time in the pocket. It would shock me if Cincy scores more than 13 points in this game. I have to go with the under in this game.
Prediction: UNDER

Point Spread
– Los Angeles Rams (-4)
– Cincinnati Bengals (+4)
The Rams are 15-5 outright and 10-10 against the spread this season. They are coming off a 20-17 comeback win over the Niners. They played flat for most of the game and came alive in the fourth quarter. Stafford hit Cooper Kupp on some key throws to get into field goal position to win the game. The Niners tried to get their running game going to help QB Jimmy Garoppolo out, but it never materialized.
The Bengals are 13-7 outright and against the spread this season. They are coming off a 27-24 overtime road win over the Chiefs. Kansas City looked to have this game under control when they had a 21-3 lead in the second quarter. The Bengals were able to get into the end one before the half and then evened up the game by the end of the third quarter. Cincy’s secondary isn’t great, but they did step up huge in the second-half of this game.
This game will be won through the air, and as I said before, the Bengals secondary has given up some big plays this season. They have the 26th-ranked pass defense and will be facing a big play receiver in Odell Beckham Jr. and the best possession receiver in the NFL in Cooper Kupp. I would love to see the Bengals finish off this Cinderella run with a Lombardi Trophy, but I don’t see it happening. I’m taking the Rams to cover in their home stadium.
Prediction: Los Angeles Rams (-4)
