2019 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 11

nick foles jaguars dottedThere are only four teams on bye this week.

The Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans, New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks all have the week off. These teams aren’t nearly stocked full of fantasy studs like last week’s group of bye teams.

This week’s group of starting quarterbacks is pretty shocking if you use Week 1 eyeballs. There are so many backup quarterbacks that have either gained the starting job due to injury or just overall ineptitude by the previous quarterback.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 11 of the 2019 NFL season…and enjoy our awesome MS Paint masterpiece of QB Nick Foles of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

START’EM

  • QB Nick Foles (Jacksonville Jaguars) – Nick Foles is all healed up and will be starting against the Colts on Sunday. I loved Gardner Minshew, but he wasn’t cutting it against good teams. The Jags have some solid wide receivers and Foles should have a good game against the Colts, who is very underrated against the run. Jacksonville will look to pass in this game.
  • WR Cole Beasley (Buffalo Bills) – The bye week teams are filled with some decent wide receivers, so you may be in need for a wide receiver or flex. The Bills play the Dolphins, who have allowed some big games to slot receivers this season. Beasley lines up nearly all the time in the slot. He should have a decent game against Miami.
  • RB J.D. McKissic (Detroit Lions) – The Lions are dropping like flies. QB Matthew Stafford will be out for at least a few weeks and nearly every running back is either out with an injury or questionable against Dallas, except for McKissic. He is expected to get a ton of touches and even if Ty Johnson (concussion) is able to play, McKissic will be the best pass-catching option out of the backfield.
  • QB Derek Carr (Oakland Raiders) – Carr is quietly having a very good season. Everyone was ready to run him out of Oakland, but head coach Jay Gruden stuck with him. The Raiders play the winless Bengals and the table is set for Carr to have a big game.
  • Buffalo Bills Defense & Special Teams – The Dolphins are playing more and more like a professional football team. They will run up against a very good Bills defense. Miami was able to score 21 points against he Bills the last time they played, but I don’t see that happening again this season.
  • RB Damien Williams (Kansas City Chiefs) -The Chiefs play the Chargers on Monday Night Football. The Chargers is among the worst teams against opposing running backs. Williams is getting a ton of action with RB LeSean McCoy out. If he’s out again this week, Williams should be a top-eight fantasy running back.
  • WR Curtis Samuel (Carolina Panthers) – Samuel is a red zone target and Carolina faces a weak pass defense this week (Atlanta). Samuel has scored three touchdowns in his last four games. He’s a bit of a touchdown-or-bust guy as he only catches three or four balls a game, but he’s good receiver in that category.
  • TE Noah Fant (Denver Broncos) – I really don’t like starting any receiver against the Vikings, but I’ll start a tight end. Fant and WR Courtland Sutton are getting most of the targets in Denver. Fant has surprised me as I looked at him as more of a blocking tight end, but he is proving me wrong. He’s worth a start this week.
  • QB Kyle Allen (Carolina Panthers) – As I mentioned earlier, the Panthers are playing a bad pass defense this week at home against Atlanta. He is coming off a bye and now that QB Cam Newton was placed on IR during their bye week, he will come into this game with an extra sense of security knowing he has the job for the rest of the year. The Falcons are a good opponent for him to face off a bye.
  • TE Jack Doyle (Indianapolis Colts) – The Colts have been without QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) and they’ve been starting QB Brian Hoyer in his place. Hoyer has hit Doyle for a touchdown in back-to-back games. If Brissett doesn’t play this week, Doyle’s stock will increase a little now that it’s clear that he’s being noticed in the redzone.
  • New York Jets Defense & Special Teams – I rarely ever suggest starting the Jets defense, but they should have a good game against the Redskins. Rookie QB Dwayne Haskins will get the start for the Redskins and he has looked really bad in the limited action he has seen in the NFL. He is holding the ball too long and is getting sacked and picked off at a high rate.
  • RB Kareem Hunt (Cleveland Browns) – Hunt made some noise in his first game back from suspension. He got a few carries, but he made the most from his receptions. The Browns utilized him and RB Nick Chubb on the field at the same time by lining up Hunt as a slot receiver quite a bit. He caught seven balls for 44 yards against the Bills. I expect he will continue to lineup as a slot and get a handful of carries against the Steelers.
  • WR Alex Erickson (Cincinnati Bengals) – A ton of people jumped on the Erickson bandwagon and added him after the bye week. He failed to even record a single catch last week. It wasn’t his fault as the Ravens were pressuring rookie QB Ryan Finley all game and they needed to add extra protection. The Bengals should be able to handle the Raiders pass rush enough to allow the Bengals to lineup a third wide receiver. He should get back to receiving extra targets.

SIT’EM

  • RB Frank Gore (Buffalo Bills) – It appears that the season is taking a toll on Gore. He started the season very good, but his production has ground to a halt. Rookie RB Devin Singletary is the only running back you want in Buffalo.
  • WR Kenny Stills (Houston Texans) – Stills is really only worth a start in fantasy if WR Will Fuller is out. It appears that Fuller should be good to go this week against the Ravens. If you own Stills, you may want to keep an eye on the injury report this week to see if Fuller is healthy enough to start.
  • QB Carson Wentz (Philadelphia Eagles) – Philly has been a running team for most of the season. Wentz has only thrown three touchdowns in the last three games. He faces the Patriots this week and I don’t expect him to be very successful against New England.
  • RB Royce Freeman (Denver Broncos) – Freeman used to have more of an even share of carries with Phillip Lindsay, but he’s losing that battle. Lindsay has been doing more with his touches than Freeman, so it’s easy to figure out why Freeman is being used less. I also don’t like this week’s match-up against the Vikings.
  • RB Derrius Guice (Washington Redskins) – Guice is playing his first game since Week 1. He faces an underrated Jets run defense. I don’t have a ton of faith in Haskins to keep drives going, so I’m not sure how many carries Guice will receive this week. I’d refrain from starting him, but may be a good play in Week 12 against the Lions.
  • WR N’Keal Harry (New England Patriots) – I’m not sure why anyone is still holding out hope for Harry to by a fantasy stud this year. He’s basically the fifth wide receiver and was a healthy scratch last week. Harry has double-digit ownership, and in my opinion, it should be less than 1% due to the Patriots crowded wide receiver situation.
  • TE O.J. Howard (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) – It took the Bucs to play one of the worst pass defenses for Howard to get his first touchdown of the season. People are adding him again now and they will be disappointed. The Bucs face the Saints this week and it’s a bad match-up against opposing tight ends.
  • Kansas City Chiefs Defense & Special Teams – The Chiefs have not been a good fantasy defense this season. They have only scored more than 10 points just once this season (vs Denver). There are better options this week and I wouldn’t recommend starting them against the Chargers.
  • QB Jeff Driskel (Detroit Lions) – I know Driskel is barely owned in fantasy, but if you’re thinking about rolling the dice and adding him, I’m here to tell you to stay away. He has burned me in college (both colleges) and he will disappoint you. Dallas should own him and make him look very bad.
  • WR Robby Anderson (New York Jets) – Anderson is still owned in over half of all leagues. He’s a deep threat and will only appear in the top-30 fantasy wide receivers in a week if he can get in the endzone. He has only caught one touchdown pass this season. I expect the Redskins will drape CB Josh Norman on Anderson…which is bad news for anyone who owns the Jets receiver.
