2018 NCAA Football – Week 14 Betting Picks Against Spread

I finished 12-12-1 against the spread (again) last week.

This is championship week!

There are a few regular season games being played this week as well due to Hurricanes and wildfires, but this is where the head coaches make their money. They need their players playing the best at the end of the season.

Nearly every team in the College Football Playoff contention are playing this week, could they fall prey to the ‘trap game’ by over-looking this week’s opponent?

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick EVERY college football game against the spread in Week 14 of the 2018-19 NCAA Football season (December 1st, 2018). We also pick some smaller conference games.

Utah vs Washington (-5) – My pick is Washington Huskies

This game is being played at Santa Clara, California. This is a rematch from early this season. Washington won at Utah 21-7. Washington has their swagger back from a rough middle section of the schedule. They are coming off their biggest win of the season by defeating Washington State. Utah is a very good team, but not quite on the same level as the Huskies. The Utes can dominate the middle-of-the-road Pac-12 teams, but they struggle against some of the best. I’m taking Washington to cover.

Texas vs Oklahoma (-8) – My pick is Texas Longhorns

This game is being played in Dallas, Texas. Oklahoma can get some revenge against Texas, their only loss this season. Texas is a real team and could be right up there in the CFP picture, but a couple close losses killed their hopes. Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray is a stud and a touchdown machine. The Sooners will most likely win, but this could be another close contest, so I’m taking the points.

Stanford at California (+3) – My pick is California Golden Bears

This game was delayed due to the California wildfires. I’m glad they are still playing it since this is such a huge rivalry game. California is heads and shoulders better than they were at the start of the season. Their defense might be the best in the Pac-12. Stanford has struggled against the best teams on the conference. I wouldn’t put Cal in that category, but they are inching their way. I have to give Cal’s defense an edge and think it could be a low-scoring affair…so I’m taking the points.

Memphis at Central Florida (-3.5) – My pick is UCF Knights

This is a rematch from a game back in October (UCF won 31-30). Central Florida will have one glaring omission as star QB McKenzie Milton suffered a gruesome knee injury last week. Backup QB Darriel Mack Jr. did an okay job, but as a freshman, will be a bit limited. I still think the overall UCF team is better than Memphis and I’m going to pull the ‘Ewing Theory‘ card and say UCF will cover on Saturday.

Alabama vs Georgia (+13.5) – My pick is Georgia Bulldogs

This game is being played in Atlanta, Georgia. I’m glad these teams will face each other this year. Alabama is so much better than every team in college football, but Georgia is right up there near them. The two-touchdown point spread is a little shocking. I expected double-digits, but not this high. The Bulldogs could shock everyone and make this a close game. Alabama could be caught looking over Georgia. I’m taking the points.

Clemson vs Pittsburgh (+27.5) – My pick is Clemson Tigers

This game is being played in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a gimme game for Clemson on their way to playing in the College Football Playoff. Pitt is good enough to keep this close to the point spread, but the Tigers are right up there with Alabama with the best in the country. I don’t like Pitt’s chances, so I’m taking Clemson to cover.

Northwestern vs Ohio State (-14) – My pick is Northwestern Wildcats

This game is being playing in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ohio State had a rough stretch of games before shocking Michigan in a blowout win. Do they come back down to Earth this week? It’s quite possible since the Wildcats have a stout defense. Their offense isn’t consistent, but they could force a few Ohio State turnovers and keep the score low. I have to take the points in this game.
