A lot of guys want to develop their muscles and look more cut, but they just hate going to the gym. If you’re one of them, don’t sweat it because there are lots of other sports and activities, which will get you ripped without ever having to lift a weight if you don’t want to. Here are some of them:
Rowing
Rowing is a seriously tough sport. You have to be super fit to have any success in the field, and that is mainly because it takes a whole lot of upper body activation to move those boats at speed. So, if you want to burn fat and build up your triceps, it’s an obvious one, and actually very enjoyable, sports to get involved in.
Baseball/Softball
If you’re looking for a social activity that will keep you fit, and help to build muscle, take your pick of the best softball bats, sign up for a team, and get swinging. These sports will mostly work to build up the muscles on your arms, but they can help to tone your legs too.
Wrestling
If you’re looking for a sport that will tone every inch of your body without the need for you to do anything else, then you could do a lot worse than give wrestling a try. The thing about wrestling is that it is obviously very physical and because of that, not only do you burn a lot of calories, but all the muscles in your body are forced to twitch very fast for the duration of your match, thus, helping to bulk you up in all of the right ways.
Bouldering
Bouldering – the activity of climbing walls/cliffs/etc. – is another great way to build muscle over your whole body without using weights because you are forced to carry your own bodyweight as you climb with agility up every obstacle. Of course, because you’re using your own bodyweight to build muscle, you won’t get really big, but if it’s lean muscle mass you’re after, it’s a great choice.
Sprinting
If you want to increase leg muscle, jogging and running will only get you so far, but if you put your all into sprinting as far and as fast as you can, and you do it regularly, you should see some impressive results.
Surfing
If it’s killer abs you’re after, then surfing is the obvious choice, I mean have you ever seen a surfer who isn’t cut? They get that way because the very act of attempting to stabilize themselves and stay upright when th4e waves hit activates their abs and makes them solid as a slab of marble.
Swimming
The classic swimmer’s body is something that many men long to achieve because not only is it very muscular and defined, but it is also very strong and very practical. Swimming, of course, also burns a lot of calories, so if you need to drop fat before you cut, then it’s time to buy a swim cap, some Speedos and get going. You’ll need to do more than just a few lengths to see results though!
So there you have it – some great ways to build muscle without hitting the gym!
