2013 NCAA Football – Week 15 + Conference Championships – Betting Picks Against Spread

Ohio State Michigan State Hotties Big TenI was all over the board last week. I hit on a few underdogs, but missed on the Auburn/Alabama game. I am now 134-79-8 on the season.

It’s Championship Weekend! The slate of games are missing some of the teams you thought would still be playing. I’ll miss rooting against Nick Saban.

We pick against the spread for EVERY college football game on Saturday, plus the MAC Championship game on Friday Enjoy!

SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in Atlanta, GA

Missouri at Auburn (-2) – My pick is Missouri

Can Auburn pull out an emotional victory three games in a row? I wouldn’t put money on it (see what I did there?). Missouri and Auburn are both good running teams. Auburn has Tre Mason and Nick Marshall, but Missouri has a balanced attack along with QB James Franklin. This game will be close, but I’m always cautious when betting on a team coming off an emotionally-draining win like Aurbun had over Alabama. I’m picking Missouri and may put a few jellybeans on the moneyline.

MAC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in Detroit, MI

Bowling Green at Northern Illinois (-4.5) – My pick is Northern Illinois

I’ve watched a lot of MAC this season. Bowling Green’s defense has only allowed two touchdowns total in the last four games and Northern Illinois is undefeated. If Northern Illinois wins this game, they punch their ticket to a BCS Bowl game. They’ve been here before, since they went to the Orange Bowl last season. The stage will not be too big for the Huskies. I’m picking Northern Illinois to cover and this game will go over the 58.5 point total.

PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in Tempe, AZ

Stanford at Arizona State (-3) – My pick is Stanford

I know this game is in Tempe and both Stanford losses came on the road, but Stanford is too physical for Arizona State. The Sun Devils have been playing finesse teams and winning, but Stanford is the outlier in the Pac-12. Stanford plays an old Big Ten-style with two tight ends and nonstop runs it up the middle. I’m picking Stanford to upset Arizona State and head to the Rose Bowl.

ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in Charlotte, NC

Duke at Florida State (-29.5) – My pick is Duke

Vegas is getting a little greedy with this point spread. I know a ton of bettors will lay money on Florida State, but Duke isn’t bad. The Blue Devils aren’t known as a football powerhouse (they are often the doormat), but this game is two hours from Duke’s campus. I’m sure Florida State fans will occupy 80% of the stadium, but don’t count out Duke. This game will be closer than 30 points.

BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in Indianapolis, IN

Ohio State at Michigan State (+5.5) – My pick is Michigan State

I’m sure I’ll get a ton of angry tweets from my Ohio State friends, but Michigan State is trending up at the right time. Michigan State’s defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown in four of their last five games. They are up to the challenge of stopping OSU’s RB Carlos Hyde. Buckeye fans have already punched their ticket to the BCS Championship Game, but it will be a battle to get there. I’m not confident enough to put jellybeans on a MSU moneyline play (yet), but a +5.5 bet looks awfully nice.

MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP GAME in Fresno, CA

Utah State at Fresno State (-3) – My pick is Fresno State

Fresno State had their bubble burst last week against San Jose State. They got too far ahead of themselves. They face Utah State’s defense, which is by far the best in the Mountain West. Fresno State’s offense is elite in any conference, so I’m picking them to cover and win the MWC Championship game.

QUICK HITS

Texas at Baylor (-15.5) – My pick is Texas

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State (-10)My pick is Oklahoma State

Central Florida at SMU (+10) – My pick is Central Florida

Memphis at Connecticut (pk) – My pick is UConn

South Florida at Rutgers (-4) – My pick is Rutgers

UL Lafayette at South Alabama (-3) – My pick is South Alabama
