Want To Start Your Own Soccer Team? Here’s What To Do

Have you always dreamt of playing football with a great team? Maybe you still have visions of yourself on a pitch with thousands of people watching you and screaming your name, or maybe you’ve accepted that this might not happen. Wherever you’re at right now, starting your own soccer team could be just what you need to help keep your dream alive, or at least give you something else to focus on.

If you think that starting your own soccer team sounds like something you need to do, read on…

Finding The Right Players

A great team is all about finding the right players. You need to know exactly what you’re looking for – is it men, women, or children? Are you just playing casually? What standard of player are you looking for? The more detailed you can be about the type of people you’re looking for the better. This way, anybody that comes to your trials knows exactly what to expect. When you know what you’re looking for you need to advertise the trials, so create flyers, and perhaps even a Facebook page or event so you can get the word out to as many people in your area as possible. You could even put an ad out in your local paper.

Forget The Draft, It’s About The Free-Agents

Every year, only 60 players get picked in the NBA draft. That’s 60 players versus a multitude of that number in NBA hopefuls. And if you consider the NBA draft picks being the main and only game in town that decides on the future of the NBA, you might be mistaken. The world of unrestricted and restricted free-agents might be just as exciting and vibrant and, more importantly, decisive in the NBA power rankings. There could be many reasons why someone is or has become a free-agent, unpicked in the draft, released by a team due to rebuilding purposes, salary cap issues, but being a free-agent does not diminish someone’s value in the market.

WWE’s Cruiserweight Classic – Where Are They Now?

It’s been three years since the WWE aired its Cruiserweight Classic tournament on the WWE Network. It was meant to give fans some nostalgia of the great Cruiserweight matches on WCW. All-time greats like Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Ultimo Dragon and others helped WCW feel different than WWF, which then almost exclusively featured large, hulking wrestlers.

The Cruiserweight Classic was critically-loved as the action was high-flying and some stuff was never seen on a WWE-branded product before this tournament. The actual streaming numbers aren’t known, but it helped launch the new cruiserweight division.

Many of the wrestlers in this tournament have went on to have careers in WWE and a few have gained stardom elsewhere.

Where are the Cruiserweight Classic wrestlers now?

Sports Psychologists Show You How To Dominate In Any Sport

If you’ve ever put yourself in the shoes of a superstar sports personality, you can’t help but conclude that they are exceptionally mentally tough people. The basketball player who can shoot a flawless penalty basket; the tennis player who can hold his nerve in a tie-break, and the athletics champion who can bring their A-game to a crowd of screaming fans – it all requires psychological toughness. You could have the most skilled sportsperson on the training ground, but if they don’t have the mental fortitude to perform at their best when it counts, then they’ll forever fail.

Sports psychologists have spent decades studying the world’s top athletes to find out how they think differently from the average person. Superstars don’t arrive at the top of a sport by chance: they get in a mental place that allows them to dominate the game and come out on top as the victor. What are their secrets? And how can you apply them in your own life?

2019 NBA Draft – Best Undrafted Players

The 2019 NBA Draft is two rounds and consists of just 60 picks, so not every good college basketball player will hear his name called. Many NBA teams opt to select players with a higher upside and some of those picks are foreign players they wish to just stash overseas.

There are still some very good players left to either sign for an NBA team’s Summer League spot in hopes of catching on with a team. Most will probably end up in the Gatorade League or play overseas.

Guys like Fred VanVleet and Jeremy Lin won an NBA title this year and they went undrafted in their respective draft classes.

I’m sure people who love ‘their team’ always wonder why the star of their college team didn’t even play a single minute in the NBA.

This is not the end of the road for these players. There are many undrafted players in the NBA, so a few of these guys will still make their dreams come true in the future.

Here are the best undrafted players not selected in the 2019 NBA Draft.

2019 NBA Draft – Sweetbob’s Mock Draft

We don’t usually do mock drafts on the site, but we do them when a draft class is this darn stacked.

There are players in this year’s draft class that will be taken after the Lottery and will make instant impacts for their teams. There are even guys who were Lottery pick locks just a month ago, but are now slotted to go in the 20’s. There are also some young talents who suffered injuries last season (Bol Bol) and are tumbling down draft boards.

The first three picks are almost a certainty (even though I think there’s a chance #3 could be a Wild-Card), but after that trio, it could be a wild ride. There are also some teams picking early in the draft who are shopping their picks, so that could change things even more.

Here is our 2019 NBA Mock Draft.

6 Most Tragic Career-Ending Injuries in Sports

Every time an athlete laces their shoes, they know that the risk of injury is always right around the corner. There have been many young talents that were never the same after just one ill-timed twist of the knee or pop in their shoulder.

Jay Williams – Williams was a standout point guard at Duke and was the second player taken in the 2002 NBA Draft. He was all set to be the centerpiece in what many assumed could be the start of a new dynasty for the Chicago Bulls. He had an average rookie season, but did show promising signs that he could turn into a star. After his rookie season, Williams wrecked his Yamaha R6 motorcycle into a streetlight. He suffered major injuries including never damage in his leg, fractured pelvis and a completely dislocated knee. It was a single vehicle crash and didn’t need to consult a personal injury lawyer, but the Bulls were able to collect on an insurance policy to cover Williams’ contract. Williams did attempt a basketball comeback in 2006, but he was just a shell of himself. He has stayed in the limelight as a college basketball analyst for ESPN.
