2017 NFL Week 9 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I had a solid week picking NFL games against the spread last week. I went 9-4, but totally whiffed on the Thursday game (again). Miami ended up playing one of the worst games this season.

There are thirteen games on the schedule again with six teams on bye. There are only two more weeks of byes and then we are back to a full 16-game schedule.

The slate of games last week was very enjoyable. I especially loved the Seattle/Houston game. Hell, the Colts/Bengals game was even unexpectedly close in the final minutes.

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 9 of the 2017 NFL season.

2017 NCAA Football – Week 10 Betting Picks Against Spread

I hit the most popular college football games, but missed on a lot of under-the-radar games. I’m still well above .500 on the season, but really struggled picking the early games last Saturday.

The big game against Ohio State and Penn State really paid off last week. It was a fun watch and came down to the final minute of the game. This week’s big game is Oklahoma at Oklahoma State. Can the Cowboys cover the game at home?

Iowa State, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame have been awesome against the spread this season. Can all three cover this weekend?

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick 25 college football games against the spread in Week 10 of the NCAA Football season (November 4th, 2017). We also pick some smaller conference games.

2017 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 9

Another week with six teams on bye. We only have to deal with byes for two more weeks. The last two weeks have been crazy since so many elite fantasy players have had the week off.

Chicago, Cleveland, L.A. Chargers, Minnesota, New England and Pittsburgh are off this week. You will need to find replacements for studs like Steelers WR Antonio Brown and Patriots QB Tom Brady.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 9 of the 2017 NFL season…and enjoy our weird magnificent MS Paint masterpiece of Bills QB Tyrod Taylor.

I want to explain what I mean by “sit” and “start.” Of course you are going to start some of the guys i say to bench this week, because you probably used high draft picks or a lot of money in an auction for them. My ‘sit’ players are guys I am just not completely sold that they will have good weeks. If you have a guy that you are on the fence about, maybe this will help you pick between the players.

Unlucky Colts Should Bail on Season

The Indianapolis Colts are currently 2-6 and have lost their last three games. The rest of the AFC South have exciting, young players and the Colts roster is just flat. They currently have one of the longest betting odds to win the Super Bowl. It could be just a matter of weeks before they are eliminated from playoff contention.

I realize the dumpster fires in Cleveland and San Francisco make the Colts look alright, but they are possibly the worst-coached team in the NFL. Indy head coach Chuck Pagano struggles to keep his team motivated. They are lucky to play three quarters a week and they find creative ways to lose games. They are long overdue for a head coaching change.

The silver lining to the early season troubles has always been that QB Andrew Luck was supposed to play soon. Well, it looks like Luck could miss the rest of the season due to lingering shoulder issues. He needed a cortisone shot shortly after a few days of throwing a football. Luck is ‘not close’ to returning to practice anytime soon.

Sweetbob’s Hipster Music Playlist: November 2017

Just like last month, I’ve spent a good portion of this month listening to music. I spend more time researching and writing in the Fall/Winter due to football. I’m always bouncing around Spotify while researching betting trends.

November is usually a big month for music as bands put out new albums before the holiday shopping season. I know I’m currently in love with both Alex Lahey and Gordi’s albums.

I always keep an ear out for new music. I love discovering new bands/songs, it’s a habit from my days as a music journalist. Even though this is mostly a sports blog, I still add quite a bit of music and pop culture content. Keep sending me tracks via email or Twitter.

If you want to listen to songs that appeared on past playlists, you can listen to our playlist on Spotify or go here to view our past hipster playlists.

Toy Crazy: 2017 Ringside Fest’s WWE Mattel Announcements [PHOTOS]

There are only a few times a year when Mattel announces and debuts upcoming WWE action figures. San Diego Comic-Con and Ringside Fest are the two of the biggest events with the most upcoming WWE action figure reveals. This year’s Ringside Fest in NYCC did not disappoint.

We already saw some of the figures at San Diego Comic-Con, so I’ll skip most of those in this post. I want to focus on the figures we didn’t know anything about or figures we haven’t seen in prototype form.

We already know that Target has NXT basics and elites and Hall of Fame elite exclusives, Walmart has the ‘THEN NOW FOREVER’ elites and basics, as well as an occasional Build-A-Figure line and Toys R Us has a multiple exclusives per year. It looks like WWE Shop will also get in on the Elite exclusive fun this upcoming year.

2017 NFL Week 8 – Betting Picks Against Spread

I went 7-6-2 against the spread last week. I am due for a big week and hopefully it happens this week.

There are thirteen games on the schedule with six teams on bye.

Last week’s slate of games were kind of disappointing. There were a lot of games I was excited to see, but there were too many non-competitive games for my taste.

There are some whopper double-digit spreads this week. There’s even one in the London game, which could be a tough cover for the Vikings.

We pick ever NFL game against the spread and throw out a few upsets in Week 8 of the 2017 NFL season.

2017 NCAA Football – Week 9 Betting Picks Against Spread

Your boy had another .500 week, actually a game above that mark. I nailed nearly every marquee game, but my smaller school bets didn’t go very well. This is the opposite of how it usually goes for me. In my years of betting on college football, I’ve made most of my money betting small schools. I can usually find value there, something that is rarely ever there in SEC or Big Ten games.

There are some big rivalry games this weekend. The biggest is #3 Penn State traveling to Columbus to take on Ohio State. Can the Buckeyes ruin Penn State’s perfect season? Can they cover the -6.5 spread in a big pressure game?

We at ‘America’s White Boy’ pick 25 college football games against the spread in Week 9 of the NCAA Football season (October 28th, 2017). We pick some smaller conference games.

2017 NFL Fantasy Football Start/Sit – Week 8

A lot of teams are on bye week and you may need to fill a few holes in your lineup.

Arizona, Green Bay, Jacksonville, L.A. Rams, N.Y. Giants and Tennessee are all sitting this week out. I can already tell a lot of people will be looking for streaming options for running backs in Week 8.

Here is our Fantasy Football Sit/Start for Week 8 of the 2017 NFL season…and enjoy our weird fabulous MS Paint masterpiece of Eagles QB Carson Wentz.

Toy Crazy: Fall/Winter 2017 WWE Funko Releases

We covered some upcoming Funko releases back in May. Those figures are already in my collection and look fantastic. Funko is set to release even more pop vinyl figures before Christmas this year.

We have reviewed a lot of Mattel’s WWE Elite figures, but Funko has also released some pretty solid figures in the past. I’m a big collector and you can see some of my collection on my Instagram, @vintagetoybob.

I’ve plugged another site in my previous Mattel/Funko posts, but if you’re looking to order Funko figures, I’d trust DCtoys.net. I’ve bought from the seller before and he is highly reputable. The best of the best for sure. You can use code ‘AAFWWEBUNDLE‘ for free domestic shipping on any order over $36.

Here are some pictures of Funko’s Fall/Winter 2017 WWE POP! vinyl releases.

Sports That Will Help You Get Cut Without Hitting the Gym

A lot of guys want to develop their muscles and look more cut, but they just hate going to the gym. If you’re one of them, don’t sweat it because there are lots of other sports and activities, which will get you ripped without ever having to lift a weight if you don’t want to. Here are some of them:

Rowing

Rowing is a seriously tough sport. You have to be super fit to have any success in the field, and that is mainly because it takes a whole lot of upper body activation to move those boats at speed. So, if you want to burn fat and build up your triceps, it’s an obvious one, and actually very enjoyable, sports to get involved in.

2017-18 College Basketball – All-Name Team

We have so many great, new entries this season. Also, many of last year’s gems are still on college teams this season.

We picked through every Division-I college basketball roster and a few smaller schools for our list. This year’s class is solid and better than last year’s All-Name Team.

My name is Bobby Roberts, so I am often jealous of people with unique names. The most unique thing about my name is that I was not born ‘Robert Roberts’, Bobby is my given name. I don’t know too many grown men named Bobby.

This list consists of names that we wished he had and ones we find humorous. Enjoy!
