And the Riddler Is….

I am a big Batman fan and I’m basically interested in news about any comic book character that is going to appear in a movie. I am a fan of the movies that feature X-Men, Iron Man, the new Hulk, and many others. I loved “The Dark Knight” and I’m excited about the next movie in the franchise. They have recently announced who they cast to play The Riddler in the next Batman movie. The man who is set to play The Riddler is Eddie Murphy…say what?! Really? This guy?

This guy?

This guy?

The guy who wore this?

The guy who made this movie?!

Okay, so that guy is going to be this guy?!

Okay, I give up. I really don’t know where they are going with this at all. I know that Heath Ledger wasn’t the normal casting for the Joker and he hit it out of the park, but this seems like they didn’t even try. I hope Eddie Murphy proves me wrong, but at this point I expect the casting for the Penguin to be played by Yao Ming.

I’d Rather Have An MCL & ACL Tear

I’ve had the flu for much of this week and I have been completely miserable. I’d rather have something manly to keep me down like a cool sports injury, but as of right now all I have to keep me comfortable is a box of tissues and the some Nyquil on ice. A lot has happened this week in sports and music, I will make sure that I comment on everything that I need to very soon.

I need to get back to my Nyquil cocktail.

Song Of The Day – P!nk (So What)

I don’t exactly know the correct spelling of her name, either “Pink” or “P!nk,” but for some reason she ends up with at least one song on every album that I actually like. She wouldn’t normally be my cup of tea, but seems like she doesn’t give a crap what she says, so I kind of want to see what she says. I must have heard “U + Ur Hand” about a million times at random places last summer, not my choice, just seemed to be a very popular song.

I saw the video for her new single, “So What,” and my jaw dropped. She has been in a much-publicized divorce with X-gamer Carey Hart and then out of nowhere he is in the video. Not only is he in the video, but he is in the part of the song that she talks smack about him. I’m not sure if I would have been okay with that, but they still seem to be friends, but still. I wouldn’t want an ex-girlfriend, let alone an ex-wife, talk all kinds of smack about me and I pose for the camera. She even talks about how she isn’t going to pay his rent anymore, etc. Looks like Hart & Huntington tattoo shop wasn’t as much of a success as the television show, “Inked,” led everyone to believe.

I’m sure P!nk’s new album will have a few songs that I actually like, don’t make fun, so you should go out and get it. Here is the video for “So What.”

Song Of The Day – M.I.A. (Paper Planes)

The trailer for the film “Pineapple Express” has been using M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes” in the advertisement for the film. A weird thing has happened because of this, M.I.A. has been creeping up the iTunes charts and the album charts. A few months ago she actually said that she is retiring from the music business, but due to the rise of popularity of this song and her album “Kala,” this could change her mind. Even funnier, the song doesn’t appear in the actual film or on its Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Whatever she got paid for the use of the song in the trailer, should be refunded for all the extra publicity this has brought to her.

M.I.A. is of Sri Lankan origin, but British born and raised. She gained famed from file-sharing and is considered a very talented lyricist. Her albums “Arular” and “Kala” were both major successes over in Europe, but until the “Pineapple Express” situation, “Kala” was just a moderate success in the States. Her lyrics are highly political and is very out-spoken with her regards to her political views.

Here is the official video for M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes.” (sorry no Seth Rogen in the video).
